This Hotel is superb and always our number one choice in Bistrita!! British pocket sprung beds guarantee a great nights sleep ! Triple glazed windows keep out the heat in summer and the cold in winter!! Balconies 5* room facilities air-co Flat screen television etc.. super clean ! Lots of free secure parking!!! Great buffet friendly professional staff ! This Hotel is an institution in Bistrita!! Great value for money !

I slept at the Hotel Corona in Bistrita, Romania, from the 18th to the 19th of May. I went on a tourism trip organized by Pinto Lopes Viagens. I found that the hotel was modern but in my room there was no air conditioning functioning or internal telephone. I went down to the reception and asked for a change of room because the air conditioning working is essential for me to sleep and breathe properly. They informed me that they were full and so they couldn't change my room. I spoke to the tour guide and explained the situation to her. She went to the front desk and insisted that I change my room. They replied that they could change my room but that they did not guarantee that the air conditioning was also working in that new room. I had to sleep with the window open and spent the night being bitten by mosquitoes. I had a horrible night. I spoke to other travelers and some also said that their air conditioning didn't work either. I hated this hotel. Rui Vieira 28-05-2024

Fantastic Hotel visited by car Ample Parking friendly welcome from the lobby staff ! Central location a few steps from the pedestrians precinct! Clean spacious well equipped rooms 5* standard! Fantastic bathroom great balcony with a view of City Hall ! Massive car park free of charge! Safe and secure with a night watchman! Fabulous rich buffet for breakfast with English breakfast options plus local cheese meat and local plum jam ! Delicious fresh cooked fantastic local tomatoes so fresh tasty and red ! Great hotel very reasonable good value. Great staff can not wait to re-visit !

This is a very nice hotel located in a short walk to the old town. The hotel offers free parking and has a restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has an elevator and I will definately stay here again when in town.

Loved the free parking the security guard (24 hour security bell hops ) showed me the parking which is all around the hotel . great reception staff professional and friendly . luxury rooms box sprung beds . Nice balcony triple glazed windows so quiet . great air-co room was spacious luxury shower / bathroom . All very clean 5* standards . Great restaurant with delicious international/Romanian dishes . this place is an intuition . It is the best hotel in the whole of Bistrita-Nasaud county . Fabulous buffet breakfast . I will be back !

I read some earlier reviews perhaps written by owners of nearby hotels (competitors) the other reviews were inaccurate and false and do not reflect this beautiful hotel and it’s friendly hard working staff ! This Hotel is Bistrita’s oldest hotel where Johnathan Harker ( Bram Stoker’s researcher of Count Dracula fame ) This Hotel represents great value for money ! Fully renovated not long ago it’s standards are very high it’s a Four star pushing Five star hotel ! Quiet well appointed rooms with excellent beds big clean luxurious bathrooms, modern air co ! Most rooms have balconies you can stand on ! Great for smokers I suppose! Buffet breakfast is great fresh cooked wide choice! Good restaurant friendly staff! Nice lobby bar ! If this hotel had a pool it’s a five star all day long but the best thing about it is it’s extremely inexpensive! Great location loads of free parking! I took a look under the sink after reading an old review and it was spotless !

We have stayed at the Coarona de Aur approximately 12 times since 2005 ! There is 1 five star hotel in Bistrita but it does not have the heritage or finesse of the Coarona ! There is ample parking at the Coarona at the front is their private (free) parking and at the side of the hotel then 20 seconds across the road in front of city Hall also free ! Perhaps too much free and very safe parking so some previous reviews seem puzzling! Perhaps they were at a different Hotel ! The restaurant is fantastic the Ciorba de Burta is possibly the best in Romania! Consistent for 17 years at least ! A great menu delicious food and fantastic friendly staff who are very professional, obviously a tradition of good training of staff at this Hotel ! The restaurant cloakrooms and toilets are amazing! Hundreds of tonnes of marble the most opulent toilets I ever saw and I have stayed at the Ritz London , Raffles Sing , George V Paris etc etc … I know a great hotel I have travelled the world and stayed in every major luxury chain ! The rooms are well appointed with good sized balcony to view the City and British pocket sprung top quality beds ! Great bathrooms with luxurious tiled finish! Very clean very good house keeping ! Buffet breakfast delicious with local produce, fresh Romanian tomatoes and sheep cheese plus good English breakfast ! This hotel is unbeatable for quality price and location you are right in the centre but the triple glazed German windows cut all the noise ! Fantastic! Long May this Hotel last it is a great Romanian institution!

Center location, but very small parking. Nice spacious rooms, but what they call balcony is a joke...it has maybe 5 cm in depth... staff totally unprepared to deal with customers: a room for two people had only one towel, one pillow and one pair of slippers. As the parking was full, they told us to park across the street (public, not private parking, and reserved for an official building).

Would not recommend staying at Coroana. Stains were found on the carpets and bed sheets. Aircon did also not work, the room was always extremely hot, and hard to sleep. Reception did not provide a solution to fix the aircon. Overall, I would suggest looking for another place to stay if coming to Bistrita.
