Hotel Au Bon Coin

The hotel is a short walk away from the Grande Plage, some shops, and bus terminals. It’s in a quiet neighborhood without much vehicular traffic. The room was clean and spacious enough for a small family. Our hosts met us when we checked in and told us about Biarritz, the hotel, and how to get around. They were very warm and recommended really good French and Spanish restaurants within a kilometer of the hotel. They also lent us towels and a parasol for our days at the beach. The breakfast buffet for €14/adult is worth it. They source their pastries from a local baker and they make their own gateau and cakes. This is better than having breakfast at any of the cafes. Our stay was pleasant and we’ll book again if we return to Biarritz. Highly recommended.

A really friendly family run hotel in the centre of Biarritz. The hosts/owners are so welcoming and have lots of knowledge about where to go. The rooms are lovely and quiet, great bathroom too. We opted for breakfast every morning, fantastic continental fair with granola made by Delphine. Second visit, I hope to return. Highly recommended

We have never felt so welcomed in a hotel. It was like visiting long lost friends who were so glad to see you again after many years, literally greeted as you got out of the car door. (There is a disabled space at the front door which you can use whilst you check in and unload your luggage). There is no street parking but one of the staff was so kind to give up their parking space so my hubby could park his pride and joy sports car. I have never know staff in a hotel being so friendly and so happy to be there and enjoying being at work so much. One of the staff at the hotel said living in Biarritz was like being on holiday every day, when they were not at work they could go to the beach or drive 15 mins up the road and be eating tapas in Spain. This hopefully gives you an idea of the feel of the hotel. So practically, the room was clean, the beds are firm but comfortable, the bedroom and bathroom are nicely done, hard floor (not carpet), they have complimentary water, kettle, tea and coffee (with creams) in the room, they had the most wonderful air conditioning during a very hot stay. They have a heated towel rail so you can dry your towels as you need to have several showers on a very hot day! Very quiet and felt a safe area even though on the side streets, only about 5 min walk into the heart of Biarritz. Get a recommend for a restaurant from the staff, they will even book the table for you. Definitely have the breakfast which can be eaten indoors or out, the normal fare but a cut above, all local produce, nice hams, cheese, orange juice, fruit, home made cakes and granola (all made by one of the staff), good coffee machine. Get a map from the reception and they will also explain where to go and what to see so no need for the visitor centre. Would 100% recommend a stay here, a business run by family and friends and done with love and passion going above and beyond for their guests.

Jacques, Delphine and the Bon Coin team were super friendly and welcoming. Don't worry if you don't speak French. They will be happy to practice their English. They'll lend you beach towels and a parasol at no charge. Don't miss the fresh baked goodies at breakfast. Merci, Jacques et co.!

The hotel is lovely and well-situated, the room was surprisingly large and well maintained -- dark when it needed to be and light when it needed to be. But the real stand-out was the staff, who were nothing short of delightful: so thoughtful, patient, kind, even joyful. I've never experienced a sweeter set of humans running a hotel. From the time we walked in and met Jacque the whole experience could not have been better and has been our most favourite place travelling so far. The rooms have absolutely everything from beautiful linen, big soft towels lovely coffee and tea facilities including herbal tea which is rare. It is so close to everything but a tiny walk out. It is quiet. The breakfasts were sensational and opted in for that at the last minute. This beautiful hotel exceeded our expectations and wish we could have stayed longer. I read the reviews before booking and they were true to their word. Don’t hesitate. Just book. You will love love love it. All the staff went over and beyond and only a tiny team. Lovely family run hotel in the centre of Biarritz. A very warm welcome was received followed by great information on what to see & do while in Biarritz for the day. The room (while slightly on the small side) was clean/modern and fulfilled our expectations for the price. East walking distance from the centre and the local beaches. We had arrived early AM however Marie had let us leave our luggage and by the time we checked in our bags were already in the room - nice touch!!. We were given some towels and bodyboards for the beach too. Highly recommended.
