Riviera Beachotel - Adults Recommended

This is our 5th Visit. And the standards in some areas have gone down. Our check in was good. Very nice lady.But we had to remind her about our Spa visit, which was very good The housekeeping is excellent. Our room was cleaned to a very high standard by Lolita. I do think it would be a nice touch to replace the coffee and milk as they do in premier inns etc. A special mention to Joaquin the restaurant manager so helpful and a lovely man. That extra personal touch was most welcome. Sadly when he is not there it is not so professional. A lot of messing around in the dining room by the staff. The food on Halloween was superb. Good variety, but not that hot. The salad bar also wasn’t as good as previous years Marina tutted at me when I asked for some more bacon. And one Chef ignored my wife and served his fellow member of staff first. I did bring this to the attention of the manageress at the time. We used the gym during the week. Sadly the running machine was out of order all week. The lifts were very sporadic,and frequently had to change the keycard. And we hadn’t had them by our phone The terrace area gets very busy..and we found the waitress quite rude also. We only sat there once. When our friends checked out they were told thanks for staying,hope to see you again. We left soon after and the receptionists were too busy talking and just took the keys off me. We shall be looking to go elsewhere next year

We have been to Benidorm over 15 have stayed in numerous hotels, we have got to say this is the best hotel ever.(and I am not easily pleased) Staff in the restaurant are friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious. always plenty of choice. Terrace is a sun trap, staff friendly, and work really hard. Will definitely be back.

Chose this Hotel due to the reviews but sadly was disappointed. We wouldn't class it as a 4 star, more a 3 star in our opinion. Plus points. Comfortable warm room with great mattresses. Excellent wifi in the rooms. Great location. Best shower we have ever had as it was really powerful and had nice fluffy towels. Storage space was adequate. Staff in buffet was very polite as was the lady looking after our room which was on the 3rd floor. The staff in the bars was also very good. Nice balcony's with table and two chairs. Cons. The entertainment wasn't very good. Was only brave enough to go on two occasions as we got put off by the resident comedy drag artist who wasn't funny at all. Maybe it was our fault by not going enough and only seeing a couple of acts but what we saw didn't do anything for the name of entertainment. The 5 euro per night for a safety deposit, which is non refundable, is a disgrace as was the 15euro per week for tea/coffee and milk. Cheaper buying them at the local supermarket or take your own and just buy the milk. The potential earning for the boxes over one year is over 180 thousand euros and for the tea/coffee is 77 thousand euro. That's only if the hotel is full for the year and everybody decides to accept the offer The TV which was just plonked on the dressing table, not wall mounted like in many modern hotels, was fine if only all the advertised channels worked and there was lots that didn't work. Why list then in the room when they don't work. Carpets in the corridors on the floors would benefit as the women walking up and down in their heels sounded like a samba band. The food in the restaurant was fine but nothing special, not a great choice on offer but acceptable and always managed to find something to eat. Didn't feel the need to dine out. The two lifts near reception are very slow and you could end up waiting some time. Only found out at the end of the holiday that there is a staff lift at the opposite end of corridor which plenty people where using. To sum up, its a decent 3 star but defiantly not a 4 star. I don't know if the management has changed over the last few month but I get the impression that they have cut quality and increased their pricing on safety boxes and tea/coffee/milk in the rooms.
