What a lovely hotel this is. Nick and Ian are terrific hosts, so friendly and accommodating. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The food, both breakfast and evening meals are exceptional. We did not need to eat anywhere else. Their staff are amazing. Lovely and friendly. We so enjoyed our stay. We do not often say this about any place but we will be back.

Second visit here, for Sunday lunch on a spectacular day - ALL the seasons in the space of 2 hours! Sunday roast special - everything beautifully cooked. Special mention for the delicious apple gravy served with the black pudding-stuffed roast pork. Super efficient and friendly service. Faultless!

Fantastic hotel very dog friendly lovely food staff are amazing made you feel so welcome the sunsets were beautiful we loved it great night's sleep bed really comfortable we booked again for September can't wait to go back again roll on September.

Fantastic stay at the Argyll, with the warmest of welcomes. We had a beautiful room looking out over the beach and a very warm welcome. There is an excellent range of local single malt whiskies the food is great. We also loved the paintings, sculptures and other pieces of art available in the lounge area. We can’t wait to come back.

A great 2 night stay. A great welcome when we checked in and it just continued from there. The hotel is very dog friendly which is perfect for us. We enjoyed having a few pre dinner sticks in the cosy bar. The dinners each evening were great, large portions. The breakfasts were quite magnificent, probably the best scrambled eggs ever? All in all a great stay, we will be back.

Lovely few days at this very dog friendly hotel, where dogs are welcome in all areas of the hotel! Our dog, Badger really appreciated the daily treats and quickly learned where to find them! He also enjoyed the beautiful beach on which the hotel stands and which is also dog friendly. Ian and Nick are justifiably proud of their hotel and work hard to make it comfortable and beautifully designed. The food is also outstanding, from the very varied home cooked breakfasts to the fantastically tasty evening meals.

Perfect for a beach side getaway in gorgeous Kintyre. Stunning setting, quirky, casual wee hotel right on the beach. Extremely dog friendly and also people friendly. Food really good and very reasonably priced. Thanks guys, will be back soon , Lorna ☺️

We enjoyed a super break here, good food, very comfortable and views to remember, in spite of stormy wet days. Yes, wet waterproofs were taken and dried for the next day. Dogs made most welcome, with humans accepted as carers. We love it, haste we back.

After seeing the 5 star reviews for spacious rooms and sea views we were very disappointed to be in a tiny room (No. 7) with a tiny uncomfortable bed, a view of the road and a shower that went from freezing to very hot and back again as it barely came out at all. The hotel and room was very clean and people friendly but if you have sleepless nights it’s not a holiday. The cooked breakfast and evening meals were ok, nothing special and everybody apart from us seemed to have dogs so if you like dogs you may like it here and you may well be given a larger room as there was no room for a dog as well in the tiny room we had.
