After storm Ciaran put paid to our Plymouth ferry crossing, we crossed to France at the crack of dawn to drive to our destination, Estepona. After driving 12 hrs in rain and hail we took a chance and booked the Ibis Styles Bordeaux Begles, en route as it accepted dogs, had parking and a kettle in the room. (Amazing how many hotels haven’t). Our expectations were no more than that. We found the recommended restaurant on-site was closed for Halloween and arrived dejected. However the receptionist, Zergane was a breath of fresh air! So friendly, so helpful and after settling in our room, ordered us takeaway pizzas whilst setting up-a table and organising our drinks! Good selection of wines by the way. We had a lovely evening. How things work out! The hotel itself is modern and clean (albeit easy to miss) and the breakfast was one of the nicest I’ve had in a long time. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a large selection of everything fresh you could wish for. So heads up to the staff and especially Zergane Hamza who, to his credit wouldn’t even take a gratuity. He’ll go a long way in his hospitality career and we wish him the best of luck.

5-7 minutes from the tram stop, 2 stops from the main train station, 5-6 stops from the old city of Bordeaux. The area around the hotel is currently being transformed into a very modern and hip neighbourhood (but right now there is a construction everywhere). Good soundproofed renovated room with a nice river view. Nothing to complain about but I must say that the old pillows (with a Kyriad logo) are much better that new pillows. Reasonable selection for breakfast, including fresh orange juice.

Very comfortable and quiet room, great view over the Garonne. Plenty of power points. An easy ten-minute walk to the tram stop with connections to all of Bordeaux. Plenty of choice for Breakfast and excellent coffee.

The staff friendly.location a bit dodgy. Basically a freeway off ramp. Nothing around. You have to walk to the train station and keep going to get to a decent area. However if you are driving and hitting the road , this spot is hood. Lots of parking Snd road access. Very basic accommodation

Hôtel très agréable , facile d’accès en voyage d’étape , service parfait, personnel très agréable , chambre agréable , petit déjeuner copieux, qualité prix correct , pas de service de restauration le samedi soir , mais une très bonne relation avec un prestataire extérieur, repas apporté à l’hôtel , bien !

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit dans cet hôtel à l'occasion d'un week-end en famille. Outre l'odeur d'humidité dans la chambre, notre fils a eu la désagréable surprise de trouver un bas de pyjama dans son lit (lit du haut superposé). La personne à l'accueil nous a dit "d'accord"... J'ai de mon côté trouvé du chewing-gum sur ma taie d'oreiller. Les chaises en tissu sont tachées... En somme, l'hygiène ne semble pas être une priorité. Enfin, dans la description de l'hôtel, il est question d'une "salle gaming" qui se résume finalement à un baby-foot et à quelques jeux de casse tête dans la salle du petit déjeuner. Le petit déjeuner est cela dit un des seuls points positifs que nous ayons retenus, avec l'isolation phonique des chambres. En effet l'hôtel est calme malgré la proximité d'un axe très passant.
