Dawn Chorus Holidays

What a beautiful place! We have just got back from a few nights at Dawn Chorus. Our Safari tent has everything we needed - our children absolutely loved the animals, especially collecting the eggs for our breakfast. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning again soon.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Dawn chorus holidays. We booked daisy cottage and the south down shepherds hut for a large family group, all of the accommodation was spotless, incredibly modern and they had everything you could possibly need in them! We were there during lambing and it was so wonderful to see the newborn lambs and the children loved collecting eggs in the morning from the chickens. The animals are clearly so well looked after. I won't hesitate to recommend and hopefully will be back again soon! Thankyou for being so accommodating with all the changes made to the booking.

Just returned from a fabulous week at Dawn Chorus. We were a group of 14 and booked The Hen House. The site is well located, peaceful and quiet but still with good access to the town, super markets and local attractions. There is plenty of parking and each cottage has its own enclosed outdoor space so it's safe for kids. There are sheep, goats and lambs right up to the fence which the kids loved plus chickens and other wildlife. The accommodation was well equipped from outdoor toys and games (including ride on diggers) to cupboards full of entertainment. Friendly owners who are always around when needed. The accommodation has en-suite rooms, and is also well equipped. From nightlights and torches, to kids plastic plates, bowls and cutlery. The fire was well stocked if needed and we were left eggs and some treats on arrival. Onsite is a little farm shop and egg store which is cash only. You can buy Marshmallows, egg, meat, cereal, charcoal, etc. Linen and towels were included along with toilet roll, soap and washing up liquid. Cleaning products also available including dishwasher tablets. We used the washing machine and dishwasher alot and there's also a fridge and freezer. Well equipped kitchen with everything needed. We enjoyed wondering around the farm to see the other animals. The information available from the owners pre arrival is the best ever received. Plenty of information about the accommodation and local area. Local supermarkets about 10 mins drive away. We found a great little restaurant called The Swan Motel which is about 10 mins away and worth a visit. We'll be back.

The best and most well thought out safari tent we have stayed in. We always stay in a safari tent and glamp early on in the season when the weather is too unpredictable to camp. Our stay at Dawn Chorus went very well. It's not always an easy experience for us holidaying as we have some special needs as a family but we found everything so well thought out, it minimised the meltdowns. We always choose this style of accomodation because it's spacious and each of our kids gets their own space, and we've now stayed in a few safari tents so we know what sets them apart! We stayed in Chaffinch, and from the basics to the extras it's thought through; lights on the deck on a timer, side lamps that are hand operated, a slow cooker, an air fryer, tea towels, washing up liquid, hand soap (you'd be surprised how often there's no tea towel or scourer). The bathroom is connected at the back, it's on the same level so there's no pulling your wellies back on to nip to the loo. The loo and shower are seperate. There is big play equipment outside for different aged kids to share (swingball and toy tractors, cricket bats, badminton) so when weather permits kids can take some body breaks. I could easily watch my child play from the tent or deck (cos it rained a lot). Lovely flat site, lovely mowed grass. Really amazing. Dawn chorus you set the standard!

We had the most beautiful few days. We have stayed in the shepherds hut before and it was just as we remembered. The best nights sleep. Well equipped and run by friendly and helpful people. You can’t go wrong staying here

My mother and I have been several times as we do love the shepherd's hut we stop in . The bedding is of a lovely qualify. We had noticed on this visit however, that it wasn't as clean as in previous stays, the tops were ok , clean sinks etc ,but the floors were not. The bathroom was not up to standard,particularly behind the toilet. I soon wiped round with a disposable wipe ( I usually come prepared). Not a major problem ,but one I feel needs highlighting. The peace and quite, as well as the animals are a draw for us . The outlook every morning is idyllic. It is also very good as it is in a flat field, and you can park right near to where you are staying ,easy unpacking . Well equipped with all essential cooking utensils, although the usual cleaning cloths , tea towel ,bin bags and toilet paper were absent this year . I always bring my own ( I think I may have a problem lol),so again not a problem for us . The walk in shower is fabulous I hasten too add. All in all we have a wonderful few days , the weather was great and we spent most afternoon camped outside under a free ,in the shade resting after our morning excursions. If you want a complete get away , no technology, tv , then Dawn Chorus is the place for you . Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay in the Hen House with family; there were 13 of us to stay and we had 22 for Sunday lunch. Helen and Bob were very accommodating, easy to book with and the cottages were spotless with a lot of space for all of us to fit comfortably! The kitchens were well equipped for us to cater the Sunday lunch and games were provided to keep the children entertained. It was a lovely space to spend quality time with family in a home away from home! I can safely say the highlights were the log burners after a particularly wet dog walk and collecting fresh eggs in the mornings for pancakes! A beautiful part of the countryside and we would love to stay again!

Brilliant weekend with university friends and their families. Hired all 3 cottages and the space was perfect for our large party. Lots of room for both the kids and adults to relax, huge dining table and well equipped kitchens. All newly renovated and very comfortable. Every room has an en-suite bathroom which was ideal for all the teenagers with us! Beautiful location in the Suffolk countryside and close to the coast. Helen and Bob were lovely hosts - we will definitely be back!
