La Terre D'Or - Chambre d'Hôtes

We stayed at La Terre d' Or for 3 nights in June with our dear friends during a wine trip from Champagne to Provence regions. This stay was perfection. Our desire was to stay in lodging in Beaune in an actual vineyard. Each morning we were able to walk through the vineyards across from our cottage. Vines were basically 360 degrees all the way around La Terre d' Or. The views were breathtaking; not only the vines, but the view down the hill into Beaune from our cottage. We stayed in Les Pins cottage - a stand alone building which we had all to ourself. The owner, Vincent was absolutely fabulous! He is so familiar with the Burgundy area and treated us like family. Our cottage was perfect; perfect space and perfect view. There is a cave below the home that has a hot tube in it and numerous bottles of wine that you can select and drink, and just letting Vincent know which bottle so he can charge properly. The cave has small stalactites forming which will grow one inch in 50,000 years - reminded us of Luray Caverns in VA many thousands of years ago. Vincent had breakfast waiting for us each morning and we did a day tour of Cote de Beaune wine region that was absolute perfection. Vincent made restaurant reservations for us 2 months in advance of our visit to ensure we went to the best restaurants in Beaune - each was perfect. Enjoyed charcuterie and wine on our last evening at La Terre d' Or with Vincent and Sylvie. They told us we were not that far from Italy so we will make this a stop next time we are in Burgundy or traveling to Italy. Thank you so much Vincent! We all had a wonderful stay at your home! La Terre D'Or is such a wonderful place. The cottage was so cozy and the breakfast on the terrace with the magnificent view is truly special. Vincent is such a friendly and warm host and is very knowledgable about the whole region. I would definitely recommend this place when visiting Burgundy.

La Terre d’Or is nestled among the vineyards of Beaune. There is a main house with five guest rooms and two holiday homes. We were two couples and selected a two bedroom + loft, two bathroom cottage with living area and kitchen called Les Pins. The layout was very comfortable for our three-night stay, with bedrooms on opposite sides of the cottage for privacy. Because our drive from Paris was getting us in around 6pm, Sylvie (the B&B guest manager) greeted us and showed us to our cottage and had suggested ordering a light dinner with charcuteries, cheeses, salad and dessert, at 30€ per person. The food was waiting for us in the refrigerator; but Vincent, the owner and host, stopped by to show us around and explain about the assortment of cheeses and meat (as well as share available wines to purchase and enjoy with dinner). We had reserved, in advance, a one-day tour of Cote de Nuits, which included three local wineries (there was also a two-day tour, but we had limited time and wanted the last day to explore on our own). Sylvie was our tour guide and she was absolutely wonderful. We learned soo much from Vincent, Sylvie and the local vintners about the Burgundy wines. Can’t do it justice here. Sylvie did a great job of spacing out the three wineries. We stopped for lunch (not included in the tour) at a local restaurant on a farm, Relais Du Grepissot. It was wonderful. Everything was so fresh. XOXO to Sylvie! On our third day, we did enjoy the Saturday food market in the walled village of Beaune. The fresh produce, roasted chickens, cheeses (which we brought back for lunch) was the best experience. The last night, we had dinner at a restaurant at the top of the hill, Le Bon Accueil. Sylvie and Vincent helped us with the reservation and the food was very good. Vincent and Lisa did a great job of explaining about the wineries, their property, the Burgundy region (food and wines) and hosting the guests. Overall, a wonderful experience and very good location. Tips: *Breakfast is an additional charge of 15€ per person and includes fresh breads, pastries, cheeses and meats, along with juice and coffee/tea. If you need an early start, you may want to do breakfast on your own in town. *There are 1- or 2-day wine tours available to reserve in advance. They are a full-day each, with a stop for lunch (additional fee). *Basic amenities available in the cottages (including blow dryer). Body wash is provided, and also the shampoo; if you prefer, bring your own shampoo/conditioner. *As in most hotels these days, towels are re-used (environment-friendly), unless daily change requested; as well as trash pick-up in the cottages. *Washer/dryer (one unit) available; no dishwasher (but believe one is coming!) *Would suggest a car to get to Beaune (maybe 5 mt. drive); walking to town is about 15-20 minute walk; however, it’s uphill going home and no lights on the roads, so dark at night)

A wonderful place to stay. We spent part of our honeymoon in Burgundy here. They also helped us arrange a fantastic wine tour. Vincent was extremely accessible and hospitable. Overall made for a very easy and pleasant stay for us while we toured burgundy.

Burgundy is my favourite region prior to coming here and after my stay with my husband at La Terre Dor, our experience was elevated even further! We had an amazing time here thanks for Vincent and Fabrizo for planning our trip to the best restaurants, amazing vineyards and the house is superb! We will definitely be back again and we highly recommend anyone who wants to visit Burgundy to stay at La Terre Dor and do their full tour!

Absolutely delightful place to stay. We were a group of 5 and each person had their own space. This home is unique, comfortable, well-located, well-appointed, and the owners are superbly accommodating, helpful, attentive and responsive. We will be back.

Our family spent 5 days at the Terre d’Or with Vincent. It was fabulous. Between tasting great wine, visiting in and around Beaune, descending into the grotto and spending time getting educated by Vincent, this was a truly great experience. Waking each morning to freshly baked pastries delivered to our door, we were in Vincent’s good care and could truly enjoy and relax. Highly recommended.

Our dear friends organized this amazing trip to have a wine tour in Burgundy and Bordeaux in celebration of their wedding anniversary, This is our second trip to Burgundy but it feels like our first. Here is why: On arrival, we were greeted by the most cheerful and warm hosts Vincent and his teammate Fabrizio. We felt liked honorable guests to Vincent’s Château rather than an AirBnB which I feel is wrong description for this “home away from home”. We were first given a thorough tour of the chateaux. There are so much details and finer touch in every part of the chateau from the each room with its own character and design straight from something I see in Conde Nest or Architecture Digest, to the full and modern kitchen that can cook up a feast, and spectacular view from the highest part of Burgundy right here at the chateau. My absolute favorite though is the wine cellar within a real grotto. The idea of wine tasting in the grotto with the art works all around and a jacuzzi!!! It’s so special. Vincent planned our four days in Burgundy impeccably. Aside from going to the finest vineyards tasting the most incredible wine (lots of Grandcru), we had so many sumptuous meals from Michelin star to local cuisines. Knowledgeable is an understatement touring with Vincent. He gives history lessons about every landmark, vineyard in town even every rocks/hills. Few days here feel like a long time but not long enough, and we will be leaving tomorrow missing this already. We are definitely planning to organize a trip with our children as we want them to experience what we experienced and perhaps a lot more.
