"We booked this hotel because it was in a château and it looked romantic and unique .However there were many details lacking overall. Firstly avoid the restaurant at all costs even though the three course meal was only €29. The food preparation and quality was terrible. Please see attached photos. The salmon I had was overcooked from frozen salmon and the greens were likely frozen greens that were boiled to mush and no longer green. The risotto was just rice coated in some weird cream and had some tasteless pieces of chicken slapped on top. We did not finish the food. They clearly also need more staff as our receptionist was doubling up as a waitress, and we noticed that there were some waits and gaps in service. The room was compact and clean, but the details were lacking. For example, the fixtures and appliances were the cheapest variety possible and didn’t match the Luxe feel that the hotel is going for. The location is slightly out of town and a 20 minute walk to all the main sites in the old town. The grounds were tidy and very pretty in photos."

Campanile Bayeux

"This hotel's website gives a somewhat misleading impression. It's more of a motel than a hotel. The advantage: ample parking. The rooms are okay, but worn, and in our case, even with a lovely view of a meadow. The windows and doors are outdated, however. The shutters need to be operated manually. The welcome and service are rather mediocre. Young ladies were more interested in their phones than in the guests. Expect nothing, and this hotel is fine for one night. Located within walking distance of the charming town center of Bayeux."

"A huge advantage is that a 3-star hotel at an excellent price is shared with a 4-star hotel located in a nearby building. This way you enjoy a shared breakfast and spa facilities that belong to the more expensive hotel. There is free parking in the streets near the hotel - the receptionist showed us on the map when we dropped off our luggage. There is parking at the hotel for a fee, 12 euros per day, but when we arrived it was full"
