Bathala Island Resort

We had an amazing holiday at Sandies Bathala. Upon arrival by high-speed launch in the evening, we were warmly welcomed by the Bathala team at the arrival bridge. The boat journey from Malé took about an hour and 20 minutes. Despite the rough sea, it was a pleasant ride, and the team made our arrival feel special. On our departure, we opted to experience the magic of a Maldivian seaplane ride. It was a dream to travel by seaplane, and we arrived in Malé with perfect timing to check in for our international flight. Our stay was in a beach villa located right in front of the ocean. The villa was fantastic—clean, spacious, and tidied twice a day. Mr. Mohammed, our room cleaner, was wonderful, always ready to assist us whenever we needed anything. We loved snorkeling around the island, where the resident marine biologist team organizes snorkeling excursions twice daily, in the morning and afternoon. The team is experienced and gave us thorough briefings, making every snorkeling session informative and safe. Special thanks to Lappo, who was with us for every lesson, providing guidance and assistance throughout. One of the highlights of our trip was the dining experience. The food at the restaurant was outstanding, with a variety of buffet sections to choose from. I particularly loved the grill and BBQ section, where we enjoyed fresh fish daily. Huge thanks to all the chefs, who were attentive and clearly dedicated to providing an excellent dining experience. This has been the most amazing holiday we’ve ever experienced, and we’re already excited to return in the future to enjoy the stunning beaches and embrace the relaxing lifestyle once more.

We had an unforgettable holiday at Sandies Bathala. The island is beautiful with excellent reefs for snorkeling. The staff is friendly and welcoming, especially Alli in the dining area and Lappu during excursions. Wonderful and memorable holiday! Will visit again!

Reefs around the island are rich in colourful fishes and black fin shark. The team Bathala is great: very kind and helpful. Food is delicious: wide variety, fresh, vegetarian option. Very clean island and environmentally conscious. Glad to choose being here!

It was a ovely resort, we experienced great diving with a phenomenal team of dive masters. It is truely a beautiful location, with pristine white sand and snorkeling right off our ocean villa! We saw tons of sea life including mantra ray, sharks, bowmouth guitar fish and moray eels

From start to finish we were welcomed by all of the staff on the island and they were always wanting to make your holiday a positive experience. We stayed in a beach villa, with direct access to the beach and sea. You are provided with allocated sun lounges on the beach in front of your room, so no fighting to reserve sun loungers. It was always clean and visited twice daily by the same member of staff from housekeeping. Bar staff remembered our drinks and in particular Thanju was always very attentive and welcoming. Restaurant staff were always welcoming and knowledgeable of the food being served. As a vegetarian I did not struggle to find appropriate foods and on one evening the head chef cooked me something special which was lovely. The food quality and variety was very good. Our waiter Shareef was always attentive to our needs and would tell us of the various themed evenings and foods being served. Always welcomed us with a smile and a chat. The entertainment staff were always visible and encouraged you to join in with various activities. The green walk around the island educates visitors to how the island is being sustainable and how staff are promoting reef growth and restoration. Snorkelling was good for the first few days and a variety of fish seen, including reef shark. We then had some bad weather which meant the sea was too rough to snorkel. This was unusual weather with high winds. But it certainly did not spoil our holiday. Tips: I did not wear shoes for the duration of my stay, leave them at home.

We went to Sandies Bathala for a holiday as a family and I can assure you that this has been our favourite holiday so far. We were given our rooms in the water villa which gave us beautiful sceneries every time we looked out. We were surrounded by the gorgeous sea and were able to see splendid coral reefs, different and unique fish. We enjoyed our time in the swimming pool and then the sea everyday in the mornings. It was mostly enjoyed by our kids who swam the whole time. the staff and management members made sure we were comfortable while we were in the swimming pool. In the evenings we also had the opportunity to go snorkelling. With the help of some staff members they guided us through a path with beautiful corals and colourful fish. it truly felt like we were in paradise. This experience made all of us feel much closer to nature. The meals that were provided made us all feel at home. There were diverse food types and in those days we stayed we were able to enjoy freshly made meals. All the staff members and the chefs were friendly and made sure that everything was up to our satisfaction and that we were all comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the pizza and the pasta very much. In our stay we were able to witness 2 events. One where the staff were able to converse with the stay ins and the other where we were able to witness the Maldivian culture. My youngest daughter even had the chance to wear a beautiful sarong. All the staff and the management members made sure we were all comfortable throughout our whole stay. Our rooms were beautiful and they made sure we enjoyed every single ounce of our time. Unfortunately we had to bid our farewell to everyone. I can assure that we will be revisiting.
