Gail's Guest House

Great room , clean room, friendly staff/owners, great food. Just a wonderful experience all round. It is great to have someone nice to stay when on a weekend trip, just makes it. Parking areas explained, easy check in and out, would recommend.

Great stay, it was clean and comfortable and good breakfast in the morning catered for me and I am a ceoliac. Great place to stay in Barry and good price. Small family owned business that are freindly and couldn’t do more, parking was also easy and close and everything local was an easy walk away such as station, the amusements etc.

Fabulous friendly host, easy check in, super comfy bed and lovely cooked breakfast. Ideal location close to beachfront, around a 5 min walk. Parking limited but okay. We will be back soon to stay. Recommended

The bed, the bloody bed i wish i found out where they were from they were the comfiest ever. We were really close to everything on the island too, ideal. Everything was so lovely, Lucy and Lyndon were away so we had someone who we presumed to be their Dad or Grandad. Such a lovely man lovely, breakfast amazing all round x

We had a lovely stay at Gails. I received a phonecall earlier in the day from Lucy to say that the boiler was not working and they were unable to get anyone to fix it so they would be refunding us half of the cost back which was very nice of them as this was not their fault and these things happen. Checking in was easy, parking was fine, the room was lovely, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and was very nice. If i'm ever in Barry again I would definitely stay at Gail's again. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

No greeting on arrival, just a few notes regarding door keys, breakfast order a drawn diagram showing limited parking choices. Bed was comfortable. Could probably do with a lampshade over bare bulb in the bedroom. Breakfast not great… the cooking was performed in the kitchen which was part of the dining area ( food boxes stored under the serving table) low quality ingredients, shame. The guest house frontage including the dining area/ kitchen needs some updating.

shower stall had mold all around the bottom and up between some of the tiles. I have asthma so didn’t want to take a shower. Since that is the last place we stayed prior to leaving Wales, I found most of my clothes in the luggage had a mildew smell. I knew it was on the 3rd floor with no elevator but the steps are very narrow to lug luggage up. tiny room with difficulty maneuvering around. would not go again and not recommend. I was also disappointed that I had sent an email a few weeks before coming to Wales to find out what kind of transportation would be available at 3:00 am when we had to leave for the airport and got no response. No directions on where to leave keys when leaving so left them at desk in hallway—no security.

Searched and found this guest house on ***********. Lucy was very welcoming and helpful, showing us the lay of the land with regards to the sea front and pleasure beach. It’s a great location for all the amenities around Barry Island. Room was clean and tidy with an on suite, beds were very comfortable. Free breakfast with the room price which was excellent, my grandson gave it a 20 out of ten. Thank you Lucy & Lyndon for your hospitality.

Lovely guest house within a ten minute walk to the please park and Barry Island train station. We stayed over for a night for the Gavin and Stacey tour and it was the perfect location. Upon arrival we rang the door bell and was swiftly greeted by Lyndon, who is a very friendly man with a great sense of humour. He informed us of where to park and to fill out a breakfast form. We arrived earlier but our room was already ready for us which was a bonus. We stayed in room 3 which had been recently refurbished and new carpet, a lovely modern room with a smart TV, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of storage for our bags. It was nice and quiet in the guest house and the bed was so comfy! We had our breakfast which was made fresh to order, and tasted delicious. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Barry! Thank you for your hospitality and for making us feel so welcome. 🤗
