Tadross Hotel

Clean hotel,fantastic price ,upgraded us to a 3 bed room for no extra money ,host was very welcoming,it was more appealing when we found out the 2019 Gavin and Stacey Chris**as special was filmed here as that is why we had travelled to Barry,couldn’t fault the hotel,

We loved this hotel. Great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable, spacious, all you need. But what made this hotel was the people. From the lush gentleman on check in to the wonderful bar lady who knew our drinks after 1 round, the locals adopted us like their own. Anything we needed was given or advised on where to go. For the price you pay this hotel is so worth it. We were going to go out but had so much fun in the bar we stayed. Big up to miss MJ super fan Isobel. What a gorgeous little dancing girl. We will be coming back to the Tadross as we had THE best time xx

What a lovely little find. For a budget hotel it had everything we needed. Lovely warm room with the usual coffee, tea etc. Even supplied shower gel. Staff were fantastic, nothing was too much bother. No food at this hotel but loads of takeaways near by and the staff gave us plates and cutlery. The bar attached was fabulous, so friendly! Probably the room could do with some nets and maybe a chair. We will definitely be back, probably without the kids so we can enjoy a few beers.

Terrible experience. We booked for NYE on a whim as we are Gavin and Stacey fans and because of the connection. Wasn’t expecting the earth but it was so depressing. The woman who checked us in was lovely but after that it went downhill. The room, though large, was bland and dated. I was convinced that the window was open as it was so cold and draughty - the window was cracked. The radiator didn’t work and we had to go to bed fully clothed and with the quilt from the second bed on the double bed. It really is one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. It wasn’t worth £20 but I paid £63. We didn’t venture to the bar until the morning where we encountered staff. Asked to buy a coffee and the woman did make me one but it was clear they wanted us to leave. They were really unfriendly. Then later realised my daughter had left her sentimental cuddly bunny. Rang and asked and they said the cleaner hadn’t been down but would ring me back. They never did. Then rang the next day and asked again and again they hadn’t seen the cleaner and again promised to ring back and never did. Didn’t care that a child had lost their precious bunny. If I could give 0 stars I would. The only good thing was the woman who checked us in. She was great but unfortunately I don’t know her name.

The property was nice no breakfast included or the option of having one the central heating wasn’t working only had a small electric heater the room was very cold

I got to the room on top floor opened the door to an unmade slept in already bed with rice in!!! The bed smelled of sweat walked into the toilet to be faced with a toilet full of no2 that was it for me im not one for complaining normally about slight issues but there was absolutely no chance my partner nor myself after a very pleasant evening out it the town, were ending the night here was an absolute disgace!!! I felt to embarraced to complain so left and booked with travelodge at a cosiderable expense in cardiff city center .......very poor standard wont ever be visiting again

Hotel was well presented. Had the privilege of having a bar downstairs this is not noicey much at night time .. Chinese around the courner was tasty .friendly staffs.

First time to Barry and came as a stopover for the Cardiff half marathon. Tadoss is great value for money. It is clean and well positioned.

This hotel was above a pub, so wasn't expecting much. On arrival we were greatest with a friendly guy and had a nice chat. Told him we were staying for the Gavin and Stacey tour, to this point he then divulged that the Chris**as special was actually filmed there! We were showed to our room. Everything was very clean and tidy and had fresh towels in the room. I couldn't fault the look of the room, however the bed was the most uncomfortable I've slept in. I do however have arthritis and am used to an Emma mattress. This was the only fault we could find. I know if I'd have said something the staff would have changed it immediately as they were that helpful. We were only there for 1 night so didn't make a fuss. We visited the pub in the evening and the locals had saved a table for us, as it had featured in Gavin and Stacey, which was a lovely touch. Overall, I'd stay again. The staff were lovely and the accomodation was clean.
