We've just come home from a 4 night stay here (we were skiing) and I honestly can't think of a single negative. Large comfortable rooms (beds are very comfy) are cleaned and made up daily. There's a lovely pool and spa with sauna and steam room, perfect for soaking away the day's aches. The large and tasty breakfast buffet selection sets you up well for the day and there is a very prompt on- demand shuttle service to and from the gondola. Nothing was ever too much trouble during our stay. Katarina, the owner, is a passionate and very knowledgeable ski instructor who got me back on track after a serious loss of confidence and helped me kick some bad habits I had developed that were holding me back. The hotel's hire skis are good quality and meticulously prepared too by Emo who always greets you with a smile. He insisted on carrying our skis to and from the shuttle minibus every morning and evening, safely stored our ski boots for us each night and brought them back out to us in the morning. Such a lovely personal touch, he is an absolute asset to the hotel. All in all, thoroughly recommended!

We have just returned from our third family ski holiday at Pirin River, and yet again, have nothing but positive things to say. As soon as you arrive at Sofia airport, Georgi is there waiting to collect you, and within 2 hours you are with Katarina and her team sipping welcome cocktails. Ultimately the reason we keep going back to Pirin River is because everything is taken care of: ski hire, VIP lift passes, ski lessons, and a minibus that takes and collects you from the main lift - I don’t think we ever had to wait more than five minutes. The food at the buffet breakfast and dinner is plentiful, kid friendly, and tastes great too - so much so that we didn’t need to venture out anywhere else. The rooms are huge with great self-catering facilities, the beds are comfy, and the little touches from the house-keeping team make the whole experience five star. If you’re a serious skier and looking for challenging blacks and reds, then there are of course better destinations than Bansko. But, if you’re looking for a family ski holiday, particularly with young children, then with Bansko’s long ‘ski road’, and the exceptional service you will receive from Katarina and her staff, we cannot recommend Pirin River highly enough. We will certainly be booking again and wouldn’t bother to look elsewhere.

Visited with family. Fantastic hosts, that make you feel special. Very clean, warm and spacious rooms. Warm pool that you can stay and play with kids all they long. Nice breakfast. We do not ski, however while socializing with the rest of the guests learned that the ski services the hotel provides are also great. 5 min walk from the old town. I do not think there is a better place to stay in Bansko!

We couldn't rate this place any higher. Perfect location, the owners Katarina and Yaro went out of their way to make us welcome. Great little bar. Excellent breakfast. We got an apartment which was perfect. It's a 2 minute walk into town. We can't wait to return. 10/10

I rarely write reviews, but this hotel really deserves it. I have been coming to Pirin River for over 10 years and each visit has been a wonderful experience. This means a lot, because it is the only hotel where I have stayed twice. It is a charming family-managed apart-hotel. Katarina and Jaro, the friendly hosts, excel in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast and especially dinner are delicious. Both meals include water, natural apple, pear, and cherry juices, teas, coffee, and hot chocolate. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the gondola, which operates at any time of day. It departs promptly when there are eager skiers, and the ride takes only 3-4 minutes to reach the gondola station. Bansko is a ski resort with a large ski area, with well-maintained slopes. After a day of skiing, it’s a pleasure to head to the pool with the kids and relax in the warm water, in the jacuzzi or the two saunas (wet and dry) In the evenings, we enjoyed spending time at the lobby bar or in the living room of our apartment. There, we used to drink a beer or a glass of wine in front of the crackling fireplace, having a cozy and memorable experience. All the apartments we stayed in over the years were impeccably clean, well-designed, and spacious (47-57mp). The presence of a kitchenette with utensils adds a practical touch. Most apartments have a wood-burning fireplace. The hotel provides a ski room where you can store your equipment or rent one if you don't have your own. Our children also enjoyed the playroom filled with toys, where they spent a lot of time in the evenings." One more thing: from the reception you can buy VIP ski pass. This helps you to avoid the queue at the gondola. In the high seasons there are hours when the queue is really long. I recommend this hotel, and I look forward to returning here with pleasure. 🏔️❄️🌟

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The owners and all the staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much to ask. Lovely clean apartment, easy quick shuttle bus to the gondola and great location for the local bars and restaurants. Great food and drink (especially the margaritas!) in the hotel too. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back

Cannot imagine a better stay in Bansko. We've stayed for 5 days (father + 2 daughters). The hotel is amazingly clean and all services, food, bar and facilities are just perfect. The Ski instructors were great. Flexible to our needs and we all improved our skills a lot. The stuff is amazing and made us feel at home. We cannot wait for next year for another vacation.

We come back every year at Pirin River Ski Family and Fun Hotel with for our family ski holiday. We absolutely love the hotel and have so many wonderfull memories! For us it is perfect as it acts as a “one stop shop” for everything we need: ski rental, VIP ski passes (available only with a few hotels and essential for avoiding long queues at the gondola), ski instructors, massages, a pool that is extremelly popular with our kids, extremely good dinners (the food is getting better and better every year) and a bar that is serving the best margaritas i’ve ever tried .

Despite the limited snow, we had a fantastic time and were made to feel really welcome. The Pirin River Hotel is great for all ages and the fact that everything you need is onsite including ski hire and lessons is really convenient.
