La Floresta Hotel

Me, my wife and our 5YO daughter stayed in La Floresta for one night and had only positive experiences. The staff was friendly and helpful in a laid-back and informal way which made us feel very welcome. Some small jokes, good tips on the sights in the valley and the suggestions of restaurants nearby go a long way. The hotel is situated in the southern edge of Banos but the central plaza is just a short and easy walk away. The building itself is quite average from outside (colourful though) but it's really clean and fresh inside with a beautiful inner courtyard garden. Our room was huge - we booked a triple room but got a place with 4 beds for 5 people. There was a chimney in the room, we had a huge balcony and the bathroom was nice also. The views from the balcony were just stunning towards the 800 meter high cliff and the famous Casa del Arbol. Breakfast was great and tasty and the restaurant had also a very decent dinner menu. If you arrive by car then you can park outside on the street or use the parking lot that is 1 block away. If you go for the latter then please remember to ask for a parking slip from the reception before going there because otherwise the parking lot guard will just make you run back to the hotel for that. In conclusion I would say that La Floresta is a perfect place for a base exploring Banos, the surrounding valley and climbing the nearby hills. Well situated, clean and comfy hotel with an exemplary staff is what you get when you choose this one and therefore high recommendations from my side.

Beautiful hotel with lush gardens in the courtyard. Very large rooms (we had 3 beds!). You are about an easy 10 minute walk to the hot spring pools. After a warm soak in the water you can get a terrific massage for $20 an hour. Banos is not very large so it’s easy to walk around to the shops and restaurants. Breakfast is buffet style and if you’re lucky grab a seat outside in the courtyard. Beautiful hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the La Floresta for 3 or 4 nights. It was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located to restaurants and local attractions. The room was spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They all speak excellent English, which was helpful since my Spanish is limited. They helped us arrange for bike rentals to ride the Ruta de las Cascadas, and even stored the bikes for us for a few hours until the rain stopped. I would definitely recommend them.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The staff is friendly and the location is perfect since it is located right in the center of the town. You can walk around the near by shops, restaurants and bars. The rooms were super clean and you can have the beautiful view of the courtyard and the mountains on the back as you come out of your room. There is a nice veranda that goes around the courtyard. It is a small hotel so very easy to get around. The internet service is not the best so there were many times that our calls were dropped or we were not able to brows the internet unless we came out of the room and/or went to the designated Wi-Fi area they had on our floor. The other downfall is that the rooms needed some updating. They didn't have a safe box in the room nor a phone. So, in order to communicate with reception, we had to go downstairs. I found that to be inconvenient. In two occasions that my friend and I came back after 11pm, the hotel was closed, lights totally off. First night that it happened , I thought we were locked out (pretty scary) but both nights, someone came out to open the door. I do like the hotel and it is located in a great location but I remember having a better experience the last time I visited about 5 years ago. They need to do some overall updates.

The gardens are beautiful. The staff is super friendly. The restaurant shines from staff to food. The waiters were two brothers that didn’t miss a beat in attentiveness. One even took a moment at dinner to play us the guitar; he’s very talented. The chef is super talented as well with the dishes he creates. We would definitely return again.

A pretty hotel just on the edge of Baños town centre (2 minute walk) so away from the majority of the traffic and hustle and bustle. Rooms are set around a pretty courtyard and garden. The restaurant has a good selection and very friendly staff.

I’ve never been to a more noisy place than this hostel, ever. It’s so bad isolated, I can’t even describe it. The first night there was a lot of drunk people in the backyard, which is inside. Worst of all they didn’t even overnight and if it could not even get worser, same happened second night. There were noise 24/7 in this place and the staff will not do anything to make this better. I will rather give this place 0/5. Would not recommend to anybody, not the money worth at all.

We spent a night in Banos at this hotel while doing a G Adventures tour. The hotel is not very big, but it is super comfortable and cozy. There are hammocks and chairs spread throughout so you can relax and socialize outside of your room. The garden in the centre of the hotel was a nice touch. This hotel is a short walk to the hot springs which was great. My biggest complaint was the noise. Room 206 must be beside a staff room of some sort. Very early in the morning we could hear loud conversation coming from our bathroom window which is immediately next the bathroom window of the next room. We had some issues figuring out the lock on our door but once we had it figured out it was fine. The restaurant costs $7USD for buffet breakfast. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but it was definitely alright. This hotel is located within walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Although, I think most things in Banos are. Would stay here again!

What a beautiful and relaxing place! Hammocks to just relax and enjoy the greenery , lots of plants flowers greens outdoor garden outdoor hotel, Wi-Fi is very unstable on off daily so don’t count on it suddenly no connection, staff are friendly and helpful , hotel is walking distance to the city and lots lots restaurants, juice bars, coffee shops, super market etc Great place to stay!
