Transtree at Waterville

I posted this review in Google and it hit a nerve because they took down the review using dubious methods. We booked a room with Transtree Whitefield because of their property location. When I arrived to check-in, the manager told me that they need an email from my company before they will allow me stay at their hotel. This happened because I came with my wife and we did not have our marriage certificate with us—Hotel management is very narrow minded (as other reviewers have reported). It’s really none of their business where I work, and they could be asking for this information for a scam. These scams are not unusual in this part of the world as other reviewers have already reported (read the lowest rated reviews). I found senior management to be horribly rude and unprofessional—They could have told us of their absurd requirement when we made our reservations, but they asked me for an email from my employer when I came to check-in, leaving me in a bind. Maybe I should consider myself lucky because the people who came after me and decided to stay here lost their valuables from their room—One gentleman lost his passport wallet containing his passport and foreign exchange. Furthermore, the people who stayed here all got serious food poisoning after eating the complimentary free breakfast. I won’t go into any more details as other reviewers on Google have already written about the poor condition of the bathrooms and being tormented by mosquitoes. I find the positive reviews here to be questionable because—instead of addressing the issues and offering an honest apology to mend fences—they took down this Google review using dubious methods. Customers simply want to be heard when they have had a bad experience—People write reviews in the spirit of information sharing. Furthermore, Transtree is not a small business—they are a hotel chain.
