Went mid afternoon for Sunday lunch. Choice of the Sunday roast menu or the normal one. We opted for the Sunday menu. Excellent choice on both. Both our starters were tasty, came quickly and our waitress was very friendly. Pate was lovely, nice mixed salad on the side. My husband had the lentil and bacon soup which was served with a warm roll. Next we both had the roast beef rib with all the trimmings, delicious and the gravy was the best I’ve tasted for a long time. Husband managed the sticky toffee pudding which he said was really good. Great value at £19.99 for 2 courses or £24.99 for 3. Would highly recommend, was busy but no lengthy wait and atmosphere was good.

Food is excellent at this hotel. Lovely warm bar area. Cooked Breakfast superb. Staff are really accommodating, nothing is a problem. Lovely and quiet rooms, very comfy bed. Large parking facilities. Lovely walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

I've stayed here for this week and couldn't recommend it more highly. Lovely welcome on arrival and really friendly staff the whole week in the bar, restaurant and the ladies looking after my room. The bar/restaurant staff in particular were all great in the evenings after sometimes stressful days. A terrific place to stay for business or leisure and I hope to manage a return visit with my wife. Thank you again for looking after me so well.

started to stay here again on business trips to Aberdeen, very comfortable clean rooms, huge TV On wall ( not the mini portable TVs some rooms provide, only 20 mins to Aberdeen City centre at 8am in morning, lovely walks to beach ( around 1 mile) breakfast and dinner of a very good quality and price of room and food excellent value for this quality in Aberdeen area, PS staff go beyond to make sure customers are happy.

Visited here for the weeknd with my husband and son. An absolute hidden gem. Warm, welcoming little place to stay. Mario and his team are so so welcoming and hard working. Every member of staff were so friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Had the pleasure of being served by Lily 'The Boss' when we had dinner in the restaurant at night. Food was fresh and delicious and all served with a smile. Check backs on food were timely and staff kept our drinks topped up. Great service all round. Location of hotel was great...5 min drive to a beautiful beach with the most amazing dunes. We will definitely return to this hotel if in the area. A must for a homely, welcoming, relaxed visit. Well done to Mario and his team. Thanks for the best stay😊

Poor service waitresses looked like she didn’t care less chip tasted like they came form the chipper chicken fillets cheap bag from aldis for the price disgrace how can they call it restaurant food disgraceful wasn’t asked how the meal was at all blank face took away

I was a little apprehensive before staying as I usually book chain hotels as they do exactly what they say on the tin, but I needed somewhere close by and last minute. The pictures looked fine online but you never know until you’re there. From the front, the grill restaurant looks modern but the accommodation was in the car park to the rear and was slightly dated on the outside. Check in was easy and the man in reception (presumably the owner) was very friendly and helpful, carrying my case up to my room. He did this for other guests too. The room was immaculate and the bed was very comfy. You can tell they have really tried to make this place as good as it can be. My only complaint would be low pressure in the shower but I managed and I have long, thick hair. I ate dinner in the restaurant and again I wasn’t expecting much, due to previous experience of mass produced food being disguised as ‘homemade’ food. But it genuinely was, and it was very tasty and extremely reasonable in price.

Excellent recently updated hotel, bar & restaurant in the village of Balmedie. Rooms are very nice & clean. Reasonable price. Restaurant food is great. Warm friendly staff. Will definitely be back.lots of things to do in the village as well. Highly recommended.

Amazing 2 night stay at the White Horse. Mario went above and beyond during our stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better host. The room was tidy and the bed was comfy. We ate breakfast both mornings. Mario remembered our order from the day before and took it out straight away! We also ate in the restaurant one night and I can highly recommend the pate.
