Taman Sari Bali Resort and Spa

Perfect place for snorkeling. We hade a lo elu cottage. It was so great that we decided to stay 3 more nights. For snorkeling go to the dive center reef seen diver resort ( 300 m on the right ) Fabulous snorkeling in menjangan island. The spa is amazing !!

Booked for six nights and stayed for one. This is the third time we have visited Bali and we couldn’t wait to leave this hotel. Breakfast was poor, tasteless and not up to Balinese standard. The “fresh juice” tasted like squash, the Nasi Goreng was more like an instant packet rice. My husband said the sausage didn’t taste nice and left it. We noticed that all other guests at breakfast looked miserable and no one was smiling. This included the staff. The rooms were shabby and needed a refurbishment and a good clean. We’ve stayed at other places in Bali with outdoor showers and this was rough. No hot water at all, tiny area to stand on, the toilet needed a proper clean and the sink smelt of sewage. We arrived late at night and there was no insect repellant coils burning or plug ins as we would normally find in Bali. The bed covers were stained. The curtains were broken ant the top and limply hanging from the rails. They did not meet in the middle. The front door was a flimsy lock (and flimsy door) and did not feel safe leaving our belongings here. This hotel did not look like the photos. We arrived so late we couldn’t leave so we had to stay the night. We left after breakfast and went to stay at a superb hotel for the same price outside Ubud.

This is our 6th visit. That says it all. Peaceful. Lovely staff and food . Highly recommended. The coral reclamation off the beach is going well and it's only a short boat ride to the best diving in Bali. Massages daily. Heaven. We've been there with friends children and as a couple. Brilliant

Nestled between the beautiful mountains up North of Bali and the beach is the beautiful resort. We stayed in a private villa near the resort but would frequent the resort for the spa, restaurant and to take a dip in the pool. The resort grounds are beautifully manicured with several blooming trees abundant with flowers and fruits. The reception team is very helpful with information and in providing sarongs for local temple visits .

Good Points: The Pemuteran beach is really excellent and the hotel has a long range of trees along the beach providing shadow to the hosts. The hotel has rooms and bungalows in a nice garden, with a good distance between bungalows. The hotel provides beach towels. Bad points: Our bungalow had some empty space between the walls and the roof. Not only it does not make air conditioning as efficient as it could, but the mosquitoes get through! I think it is the same for all bungalows as they are similar. The breakfast is OK but not great. No pastries. You have to pay additional fee for regular coffee. The fruit platter is limited and always the same. During our stay, it was the season of rambutan, mangoustan, mango, but we never had any of those local fruits. But the worse is the service. Actually, the problem seems to be more in the kitchen. There is plenty of staff to serve, but they are waiting for the dishes to come out of the kitchen. Once we had to wait over 45 minutes. The hotel has connected TV but when we arrived, it had not been connected properly. The staff had to come afterwards to fix it. The electric light is weak and at night it is dark difficult to see what is on the table. We gave some laundry to clean, but the laundry returned was not ours. During one day, the toilet flush did not work, the next day it came back. Overall, the value for price was way under our expectation. It seems there are better hotels on the beach. Finally, this is not a bad point, but something you have to be aware of: - the bungalows are each surrounded by a pond. You access to the bungalows by walking on some sort of concretes plots. My wife has difficulty walking, so the hotel built a special wooden bridge over the plots to cross, and it was OK. But no access if you have a wheelchair. And the frogs in the pond sing at night, which you may like or not. - this hotel accept dogs

A tranquil and peaceful place, in a beautyful and well maintained garden. Right at the shore of northwest Bali. We had the junior suite, it’s more a bungalow, spacious bedroom/sitting room, an outside bathroom (separate closed toilet). I am not a fan of an outdoor bathroom, but this was quite nice, with tropical plants and flowers, and great shower. Great staff and service. Worth the mention is the bio-rock project, a coral reef restoration right in front of the hotelbeach.

We've been going to Taman Sari since it opened. It's our favorite beach place in Bali. Staff are great, some of the originals still there after all these years. Food very good. Only complaint I have this time is that my sandals disappeared off my veranda the 2nd night there. I guess not much can be done but disappointed. Surely would not have been another guest who took them.

Taman Sari is a fantastic place for a truly relaxing holiday. The comfortable bungalows are set in beautiful tropical gardens with the mountains rising behind them and with direct beach access. There are two warm pools, with plenty of loungers, a bar and restaurant and an amazing affordable spa with a great selection of treatments. Eating breakfast at a table on the beach watching the sparkling clear ocean was the highlight of my day. Our junior suite was perfect. It has an amazing outdoor bathroom and a private courtyard with a large daybed, complete with mozzie nets and a fan, overlooking a pond with lots of healthy goldfish/ koi. The front patio faced the beach and was equipped with comfortable furniture and a ceiling fan, a great place to relax. Staff lighting mozzie coils every evening was a very thoughtful touch. I had arranged hotel pickup from the airport as it’s about 4 hours drive. The car was spacious and comfortable with a friendly driver who pointed out places along the route. The drive was a site seeing tour in itself, bringing you in over the mountains with breathtaking views. There are shops and several warungs within easy walking distance of Taman Sari, should you wish to explore. For dive enthusiasts, snorkelling is great straight off the beach in crystal clear water, the dive centre is next door and you can book scuba trips. We enjoyed very early morning fishing in a local boat and watched the sun rise over the ocean. If you want a relaxing holiday,far away from the chaos and high pressure of Kuta, go to Taman Sari and experience real Bali hospitality. We will return.

Second stay in this resort. Beautifull location right on the beach, great for snorkling. Nice rooms / villa's with outdoor shower. Garden is great and well maintained. Nice pool. Prices for drinks are quite high (approx. €3.50 for a small beer), with tax and service almost double compared to surrounding warungs. Breakfast really disappointing, especially compared to the buffet before corona. Two small pancakes, not fresh prepared e.g. Lot of staff, serving a table with 2 or 3 waiters at the same time, while a number of other waiters are watching. Looks like heavily over-staffed to me. But all in all definitely worth staying !
