A beautiful bed and breakfast in an excellent location in the charming champagne village of Ay. Dominique and Valerie are exceptional hosts and provide wonderful accommodations. The rooms are very spacious (and super clean) and we enjoyed the towel warmer in the suite and large living area to have coffee in the morning and a glass of champagne in the evening before dinner. Breakfast is very good with local breads, croissants, cheeses, yogurt, and meat, along with perfectly prepared soft boiled eggs in a traditional french setting. Thanks to Dominque’s recommendation, we spent most of the day exploring the champagne houses of Hautvillers and Ay and stayed away from crowded Epernay since we like local family run wine houses. If you are a hiker, there is an exceptional 4 mile loop hike up into the vineyards to the village of Mutigny and back which was amazing. Le Clos d ‘Ay is perfect place to unwind, explore local villages, and stroll in the vineyards hosted by warm and gracious hosts. Highly recommend. Could have stayed another night or two!
