Aligning Health Retreat & Day Spa

I would say 3.5, but it’s not a choice. We stayed 2 nights in one of the cabins (disabled access cabin 5) the bed was very comfortable, a king that can be split. The shower was excellent. The room had nowhere but the floor to put luggage so it made it feel quite cramped. Being a disabled room nowhere to put toiletry bags but the floor, but that was ok. The view and surrounding countryside is pretty with roos and stars. We had a fire one night and cooked a simple dinner in the communal kitchen. Axedale Tavern was good for dinner too. We had good massages on arrival but the massage room was too big to heat well enough. I’d suggest the practitioner to set up a table in one of the cabins and warm that first. We used the hot tub after massage- lovely but again not hot enough. The cabins desperately need ventilation for winter as the windows and the tile floor became very damp with condensation. For a pair who normally go camping this was a nice winter break. We rode to Bendigo and back on the O’Keefe rail trail. With the communal kitchen and lounge it would be a nice place for a small group to stay, but if using the kitchen I’d say keep it very simple as the kitchen is quite poorly designed for for more than 2 people at a time. Isolated with paddocks of kangaroo's and quiet surroundings. We had an enjoyable night.

Room was clean & had most of what i needed, except milk in the fridge for my morning & night coffee. Area around the shed accomodation could be improved/weeded....& if you know your having a visitor into one of the stand alone metal accomodation rooms, you could at least sweep off all the cob webs from around the entrance door.

Our stay was overnight only, but long enough to experience the peace, quiet and restful environment. We left feelng totally refreshed. There is a large, modern shared kitchen, and breakfast is included.

Rustic room lovely spacious comfortable clean. Initially offered room we didn't book a cabin with double bed bunks. Breakfast just cereal and supermarket sliced bread Not for us was expecting more from Health Spa

A genuine place to come and switch off. Waking up to Roos freely roaming around was a highlight.

This was a great family escape for the weekend. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and lots of wildlife.

Arrived at night: very hard to find numbers on cabins. LOADS of trip-hazards outside, path edgings made of protruding bricks, random posts. Inside clean and functional. Daylight revealed the place to be akin to FI-FO mine-camp cabins, not a Health Retreat. Breakfast items provided but no milk at all, so what to do but check out.

It's in a very nice rural landscape with a view onto a pasture with Kangaroos and birds. Close to Axedale, Heathcote, and Bendigo. Been there twice and have enjoyed it each time. We found the staff and owners very accomodating. I highly recommend Aligning Health as a fantastic place to escape Melbourne's bustle.
