My wife and I wanted to stay at a small, intimate B&B Guest House in Somerset for our anniversary. We saw some reviews for the Compton House Hotel, a small Georgian guest house in Axbridge and decided this was for us. It is situated less than 3 miles from Cheddar (Gorge) at the top end of a beautiful little village called Axbridge, an excellent location for exploring the surrounding areas. On arrival we were greeted by the owner, Patricia, and told we could use the lounge, shown our delightful room and asked what time we’d like breakfast and what we’d like. Nothing was too much trouble for Patricia. Our room was quirky, really comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing, great food, cereals, home made jams and marmalades,”full English” coffee or tea. It was all delicious and very relaxed and unhurried. Patricia is a wonderful host, and we cannot recommend her guest house highly enough. Thanks for helping to make our anniversary so special. Recommendations for eating.
