On the outskirts of town. Quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff, Good spa fascilities. Restaurant with high ambitions, not quite getting all the way. Excellent breqkfast, Aurich and the vicinity in reach with electric bike. You can rent it at the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in december and must say that the hotels website and reviews made me believe that this hotel would be worth the high price it is charging. Unfortunately it was a very different story. I should also have checked some of the not so good reviews on here and I would have been alerted much quicker. The room was super old and dated. The restaurant from the 70s and the hotel surroundings not looked after. What a difference to the glossy photos they have on their website. This was the first time after a very long time that I felt I completely overpaid for my stay and felt robbed. Also from looking at the not so good reviews, the hotel doesn't seem to take criticism very well. Even saying 'we spent twice 700k for renovations' - well don't, but I didn't see any of these renovations anywhere, and how does it matter? Then please charge the guests in the old 80s rooms significantly lower rates. You might say, why did you not complain on the day? Well, I did not, cause I was tired, just wanted to sleep, and why would it be up to me to complain if the hotel is overall just not up to scratch, don't put the blame on the guest for not complaining... Also not impressed with the restaurant, they started at 8.30 already with the preparations for breakfast, tables where moved, settings reassembled, while diners where still trying to enjoy the expensive meal. So, unfortunately I won't be returning. For anyone considering this hotel, be aware that it is overpriced, maybe ask for a modernised room early on and simply don't expect what the website and some of the reviews on here might lead you to believe.

Top Hotel. Wir waren im Neubau im ersten Stock in einem wunderschönen barrierefreien Zimmer. Brauchten wir zwar nicht, hatte aber den Vorteil, dass wir es schon so begutachten konnten, für meine Mutter. Das Personal und der Chef sind sehr freundlich. Das Essen als Menü war hervorragend. Waren mit dem Oldtimer angereist. Die Parkplätze vorne sind für Oldtimer reserviert. Oder in einer der neuen Garagen. Zum Wellnessbereich können wir nichts sagen da wir ihn bei 2 Nächten nicht dazu kamen.

L'hôtel Köhlers Forsthaus est ma première étape quand je me rends de Bretagne en Islande avec mon propre véhicule. Et c'est la dernière étape quand je reviens, une fois les vacances terminées. Dans les deux sens, j'apprécie beaucoup cet hôtel très bien tenu et dont le personnel est aimable et efficace. Le restaurant y est excellent et le petit-déjeuner également.

Das Personal ist vom Chef (ist auch der Chefkoch) bis zum Zimmerservice auffallend freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Speisekarte bietet eine abwechslungsreiche Auswahl. Auch die Weinkarte kann sich sehen lassen. Die Hotelzimmer sind sauber und entsprechen dem internationalen Standard. Das Badezimmer, respektive die Dusche ist etwas klein geraten, reicht aber aus. Besonders angetan waren wir vom SPA-Bereich mit seinen verschiedenen Ruhezonen, 2 Saunen mit unterschiedlichen Temperaturen, dem Dampfbad und Kneip Bereich sowie dem großen Außenbereich - alles TOP.

Das Hotel liegt ein wenig ausserhalb von Aurich. Der Parkplatz sehr weitläufig. Sehr nettes Personal an der Rezeption und im Restaurant. Das Haus ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, macht aber einen gepflegten Eindruck. Ein wenig verwinkelt geht es im Haus Treppauf und -ab. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Garten, ein wenig duster. Zimmer und Bad ausreichend groß, Dusche in der Badewanne. Großzügiger Sauna und Schwimmbadbereich, auch hier alles älter aber gepflegt. Die Restaurantleistung war gut.

Gutes Hotel und Restaurant im Außenbereich von Aurich. Mein Zimmer war angenehm ruhig, sehr sauber und Wasser und Zimmer warm! Der Wellnessbereich mit Sauna, Whirlpool und kleinem Schwimmbad sehr sauber, recht warm und angenehm. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr umfangreich, frisch und lecker. Es wird immer wieder nachgelegt. Frisch gepresste Säfte. Auf Wunsch frische Eierspeisen. Die Bedienung insgesamt sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt ein gelungener Aufenthalt.
