Worst hotel experience during our 8 night tour of Maharashtra. Hotel was booked by our tour operator. Initially told payment not received. After contacting tour operator, room was allocated. Got out of lift noticed the hallway wasn't that clean, windows were dirty. Entered the room number 208 and it certainly did not look like an executive room, stains on the wall, bedsheet looked old. Entered the bathroom & all the taps looked old fashioned, stained. When tried to turn on the sink tap, it was so loose the it wouldn't turn on. Complained to the tour operator to speak to hotel for room change. After returning from lunch told reception that tour operator contacted hotel for room change. The receptionist said the loose tap has been repaired. I insisted on room change. We were given alternative Executive room 203 and the photo images shows the extent of total disrepair of the bathroom, stains on bedroom walls, couldn't sleep as the ceiling fan making noise even at low speed at night. In the morning went to have a shower and it wouldn't work. Went down to have breakfast and the hall appeared semi dark. Food choice wasn't great either. Ordered masala dosa and dosa was soft instead of crispy. My wife noticed baby cockroaches on table and that put both of us off from eating there again. In all our many years of world travel this was our worst experience stay in a hotel. The pictures of hotel on websites paints a different picture to that in reality what we experienced. It was pointless to contact the tour operator for another room change as the others would turn out to be same. I later learned from some people that rooms on floor 3 has been refurbished and soon rooms on floor 2 and 1 to undergo the same.
