La Chaumiere

We arrived later than expected and after the kitchen closed. The team were waiting for us patiently and prepared cold, but delicious dinner for us in our room. This was really unexpected, but very welcome after a long and arduous drive. We felt very well looked after. The room was spacious, warm, quiet and comfortable. The service at the hotel is friendly and very professional. We were very pleased with out stay.

I loved this hotel!!! The room was beautiful and spacious. The restaurant was amazing! The courses were delightful, the cheeses were amazing and the wine was delicious. I would love to come back here again.

An excellent outstanding Hotel and Restaurant, I cannot praise it high enough, the owner and staff were par excellence, our room just off the beautiful garden area was first class and we have no complaints whatsoever, the restaurant was very stylish and the meal was so delicious and enjoyable and we were sorry we had to leave. We highly recommend a visit which will not disappoint on any level. Being Scottish ourselves Aubigny is a little Scotland in France.

After 30+ years of visiting Aubigny-sur-Nere, we finally visited the Chaumiere as a hotel, not a restaurant. The improvements and expansion over the years by the owners are very impressive. Our room was excellent and so was the breakfast. Pleasantly surprised to see it as busy in October, but a shame we werent' able to have dinner there (restau closed on Sunday evening)

We thoroughly enjoyed our gastronomic stay at La Chaumiere situated in the charming Sologne town of Aubigny-sur-Nère. While planning a weekend to visit Chambord and other Val de Loire gems - we chanced upon La Chaumiere and we’re so delighted that we had this good fortune. Cecile was a charming hostess, the cusine is delicious and our chambre superieur (Room 31) was perfect – comfortable king size bed, crisp linen and a view over the flowered inner courtyard. A tranquil night sleep guaranteed. On both evenings we selected the Menu du Bistrot (36€). The entrée of chèvre frais et jambon de pays was délicieuse. Our favorite plat was supreme de volaille served on delicious risotto - a culinary delight. Special mention for the exquisite desserts – panacotta au lait d’amandes with abricots à l’Amaretto and the ‘Foret Noire’ revisitee were scrumptious. Wines were well priced – the highlight a delicious Pouilly fumé Seguin 2018 (35€). The dining room was bright and comfortable – service was prompt and professional throughout – the restaurant is a place of gastronomic excellence. Our final bill for two people for two nights’ room and evening meals was €492 – money supremely well spent. Aubigny is a historic town with its links to the Scottish Stuart family and it’s importance to the Auld Alliance – a treasure trove for history/culture enthusiasts. La Chaumiere matched all our high expectations for cusine, cadre and accueil – a wonderful weekend. We shall certainly visit again.

Beautiful gardens, very nice room, a pleasant stay!

Charmant hôtel à coût élevé : le petit déjeuner n'est pas inclus dans le prix de la chambre, 17,50€ pour un petit déjeuner complet, parking 10€ la nuit, le supplément animal est à 12€. Nous recommandons malgré tout cet hôtel 3 étoiles***

C'est avec grand plaisir que nous sommes revenus dans cet établissement. Personnel très agréable. Excellente cuisine, belles présentations des plats, produits savoureux travaillés visiblement avec le souci de proposer une cuisine hors du commun. Nous avons pu dîner sur la terrasse, entourée de verdure et de parterres fleuris. D' importants travaux ont été réalisés, et ce effectués dans les règles de l'art, très beaux matériaux. Chambre bien équipée, très bon petit déjeuner continental. Nous avions prévus de passer une nuit mais vu l'ambiance, nous sommes restés une nuit de plus. En résumé, une adresse que nous recommandons vivement, et où nous reviendrons avec bonheur.

Très belle découverte ! Restaurant à l'ancienne, service impeccable, très beaux produits, cuisine maîtrisée, belle cave. Mention spéciale pour le chariot de fromages ! Comme à la grande époque ! En plus, hôtel nickel ! Ce qui permet d'aller se coucher après un bon gueuleton !
