VA-I-Moana Seaside Lodge

Family holiday with teenage kids. We stayed for 3 nights. The lodge was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent also. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful. Could recommend highly enough. Will def stay there again if we return

Really poor communication and completely dismissed from Vaimoana. We had fully paid for a stay which was to occur during lockdown. After numerous attempts to rebook once borders reopened I was ignored. It’s really unfortunate because I had stayed here before and my family loved our experience hence wanting to return. But all messages and emails have returned little to no responses. I would have been lenient and compassionate. But, I’ve basically been ripped off. Regardless of it being a tough time, communication is easy. So disappointed!

Pros - Breakfast buffet was good although it was the same food for the 4 days we stayed there we enjoyed the koko alaisa, pancakes, muffins, toast and various fresh fruits, coffee and fresh lemon juice. Dinner menu was limited with some food on the menu that were unavailable. We ordered the steak for $48st from the menu one night and when we went to pay they told us it was $58st. No changes were made on the menu price and the waitress did not tell us. We requested a samoan feed of faalifu kalo, luau, sapasui, moa samoa and lamb ribs. The staff went above and beyond to meet our request. Our samoan buffet was charged at $45st pp. It was very delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it despite the fact that 3 people were unwell and missed out with sore tummies 🙂. Cons- Rooms are very basic and seriously in need of upgrading and fresh paint. We stayed in a room with an ensuite. Shower has mould, the floor was slippery, beds were hard and uncomfortable, makes a squeaky noise when you move or turn. There are no cups, cutlery, kettle tea/coffee, shampoo/conditioner, face cloths or hand towels in the rooms.

The staff were all really friendly and make an effort to remember you from the moment you arrive. The restaurant has pretty decent food which is really reasonably priced. There is a private beach to swim at which is calm. Would happily stay again and have already reccommended it to a couple of people

Amazing experience! Our open fale was clean with beautiful view. Dinner was delicious, breakfast was good too. Great atmosphere, beautiful beach and really nice staff. Must to visit in Savai’i! The price is really low for that service. Thank you team Va-i-Moana

Our host was fantastic! It was only us and one other group of three. The lodge had peaceful surroundings, excellent air conditioning, and spacious rooms with a waterfront view at sunset. Despite our short stay of two nights, we managed to explore the entire island in one day. It was definitely worth the trip!

Exceptional customer service. Amazing views all throughout the resort, breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious and scrumptious we didn't expect what we got but grateful and blessed to have more than enough for everyone. Truly a wonderful experience with Vai-moana, kids enjoyed kayaking, norkelling, swimming and eating thank you to Michelle and her whole staff for all your support and service to care for my family of 10. Found a lil piece of paradise here in Savai'i. We rang in the new year here at beautiful Va-i-Moana 🙏🏽 Loved our stay and was especially memorable because of the lovely staff here. Rooms were well suited for our needs, clean, tidy and air conditioned. The beach is a few steps away we made the most of the utilities there it was nice and quiet and good to see locals coming over for a swim. Compliments to the Chef he was on point with his cooking and we always looked forward to dinning in. Looking forward to out next stay and will definitely be coming back.

An absolutely beautiful spot with a lovely safe little swim beach. A great breakfast was provided free each morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation situated very close to the waterfront was perfect with hot shower and two queen beds. Fridge and air conditioning were provided which we found absolutely necessary this time of year (end November/December). One of our favourite places we stayed in Samoa and will definitely choose to stay at again.
