This happened on the weekend of May 28th 2022. My boyfriend and I were attending an anime convention in Atlanta. When we arrived we were told that there was public parking and vallet parking. After driving around and not having any success we decided to choose their valet service. What they did not tell us is that they lost the keys to their own parking lot. They were using another hotels parking lot across the street to park guests cars. When parking the guest cars they told guest to leave the keys in the car and they would eventually park it. There were so many cars backing up and into a public road because they were not parking the cars. This was also memorial day weekend and we saw lots of panhandlers around. This was my car I was driving and I was not about for it to get stolen. I asked the valets, Who were standing at their stand talking to their friends surrounded by cars with keys inside them not being parked, where are they parking their cars? I want to park my car myself. They told me and I paid the hotel across the street that I wasn’t staying at $28 to park a whole $10 cheaper from the valet service that they were charging. The valets argued with me stating that “ valet parking is mandatory at this hotel.” To which I pointed to the sign across from their station that states “ Valet Parking And Public Parking Available To Guests”. I’ve worked with the public before so I went to go and speak to the staff member in charge of the valet parking service. I explain to them that for our own safety I would like to park my own car. They agreed and they stated that “We will take the parking off your bill.” Once I return to my car I had to wait until there was an opening for my boyfriend to guide me out of the cramped parking situation that they had created with all of the cars the valets were supposed to be parking. Once we were finally free I parked my car in the parking lot of the hotel right across from the courtyard in buckhead. The other hotel gave us permission and as we were parking we saw a valet finally pull up with the first car that we saw pulled in right before us. He even honked at us because I was taking too long to put my card into the machine to pay for parking. We were only staying one night there. We had such a difficult time with us that we did not enjoy the convention to the fullest. As we were leaving the next morning I even caught a conversation of a woman trying to figure out where her keys went. She was screaming at the the staff because she gave the Valets her keys and they did not give them back. As we left the hotel I thought we had finally left this bad experience behind but I was not right at all about that. Because the hotel room was in my boyfriends name he got the invoice for the hotel. When we got the invoice back from Buckhead we noticed that valet parking was not on our paper invoice. However on his debit card there was a singular $38 charge. The description of the $38 charge was “valet parking hotel Buckhead

The location of the hotel is so good, next to it is the subway station and the sightseeing tram station. You can walk to important attractions such as the Olympic Park in ten minutes. There are several restaurants around, but there is no big supermarket.

We stayed one night on our way through Atlanta. We have stayed here numerous times over the last ten year and have never had a problem. We arrived later in the evening and left early the next morning. In the room we encountered a trash bag over the smoke detector. This was alarming we had our two small kids asleep already so we simply removed it and didn't call the desk. The bathroom also had glitter and others hair all over the floor and shower. The room otherwise was fine. We didn't complain because we were there such a short time. Not sure we will choose to stay there again.
