Lavender House Hotel

Well all I can say is wow this place was amazing we’ve just had my daughters wedding sat 22 June nothing was too much trouble the place looked amazing the staff couldn’t do enough for us they really did make my daughters day special and my favourite bit is Keith the owner what a man a true gentleman who felt like was part of our family I actually fell in love with him and he will stay a friend for life an amazing character a true gentleman also have to give a shout to Ann behind the bar she is amazing in every way so thankyou from the bottom of our hearts and to you Keith we will be returning again and again you truly are a ledgend who went above and beyond to give us a special day we will never forget your kindness love to you all u done us proud and even more special u helped us with our lost love ones by including them in the whole thing very very special place and very special people that run the place we love you all Thanku from the bottom of our hearts the hodge family xxxx

Just come back from a wedding weekend at Lavender House where we also stayed. You just can't fault it everything was superb location,hotel,staff food,hospitality and entertainment. I would recommend it without hesitation or any reservation. Thank you Keith your family and staff.

Went to my cousins wedding and all I can say is wow it was fantastic nothing was to much trouble food was lovely and plentiful had after noon tea and a barbecue in the evening they even had ice cream candy floss and popcorn for the children. The hotel is in a beautiful setting the owner is the perfect host and the staff are very hard working and friendly cant recommend this hotel enough for a perfect wedding

We selected this hotel mainly for its location...we were travelling between Surrey and Cornwall with a stop at Plymouth for a family lunch. The hotel is in a lovely country location so it's very quiet. It is mostly used a a wedding venue and we were the only guests on our mid week stay. So, it was quiet, no problem for us though. We spoke with the proprietor who was also our server for the visit, a nice friendly person. Room was perhaps a little small but OK for the night. Reasonable value for money too.

We only stayed for one night as it was a gift, but we will definitely return for longer. A beautiful country hotel with lovely grounds. A very friendly welcome and we were made to instantly feel at home. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable with great views of the garden. The bar area was very comfy with a crackling open fire and plenty of sofas. Our evening meal and breakfast were very tasty and beautifully served. My gluten intolerance was well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this hotel on the edge of Dartmoor but close to A38. Owners and staff extremely friendly.

We stayed at lavender house on 9th September for a family wedding and I can't fault it one bit. We stayed in room 12 it was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The staff at lavender house deserve 10 stars just on there own nothing was to much trouble they were polite, helpful and friendly. The food was stunning the DJ was brilliant. I would recommend lavender house and it's staff to anyone book your weddings here people

We’ve just had our wedding here 02.09.2023 and have to say the whole day was just magical, from start to finish. Carol, Keith, Andrew and the whole team here were so accommodating and welcoming. We had so many compliments about the venue and the hosts. The food was to die for and the decorations of the room and venue were just beautiful. Keith couldn’t do enough for us and always making sure myself and our guests were ok. The bridal suite was stunning and we had the most perfect weather for the most perfect day. I am truly sad it’s all over but will cherish this day forever. I would highly recommend any future weddings coming up, get yourself booked in you will not be disappointed. Valentine’s Day meal at Lavender House was exception. Looked after with a warm welcome and settled into Lavender Suite. This room has a lovely four poster bed, lounge area and bathroom with a big shower, bath and mood lighting. We began in the bar which had a roaring real fire, and settled down with a bottle of house wine. To the meal, candle lit, and with a wonderful classical guitarist who was faultless the whole evening. We had a sharing platter with anti-pasti, a selection of meats, cheese, olives and breads. For the mains I had the filet of beef, which was done to perfection, my partner had the chicken, served with veg and fondant potatoes. We had cheese and biscuits which came as an impressive selection, with plenty of crackers and seedless grapes. Ended with coffee and home made truffles. We were even given a rose as a romantic gesture. If I had one criticism it would be the portion size, it was so incredibly generous. Ever get to that point when it’s so delicious that you want to eat more, but your tummy is telling you that you are full? Oh I forgot they also threw in a generous sized glass of Prosecco. The staff were attentive, friendly and we left to go to the room feeling thoroughly spoilt. The room was quiet, the four poster comfortable and we slept soundly. The breakfast was freshly cooked and one again the portions really generous. We had English Muffins with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. It was perfect !

I had the privilege of photographing a friend's wedding 15-04-23 at Lavender House Hotel. Keith, his wife and staff were absolutely amazing and helped no end with ideas for the wedding shots and we also talked through ideas and how photos should be done. I will be forever grateful for all the help and advice. The Rolls Royce was beautiful and helped no end with some of the photos of the bride and groom. The food they provided for the high tea in the afternoon and BBQ in even was outstanding Just a massive thank Scott Taylor (Scottography).
