Just a quick review to say that the staff here is fantastic and very very helpful. Wife left her watch in the room and they promptly mailed it back to our home. Not for nothing but the views are also incredible.

On our way to Italy we stopped over in Switzerland and spent a night at the La Perla hotel in Ascona. For me it was a journey down memory lane as I had stayed there during family holidays some 40 years ago (gosh). La Perla is a very nice place to stay, the hotel is within walking distance from the lake and we enjoyed our time there a lot. The quality of the service is the same, if not better than 40 years ago.

The hotel is perched on top of Ascona and isn’t in the old town but is about 10 mins walk down to the centre. There is limited hotel parking to call ahead to reserve it or else pay about 20 CHF per day at an offsite location which was a nuisance. This hotel has the ability to be nice provided it is EXTENSIVELY renovated. It is very dated but not in a charming way, it looks very tired. The bathrooms (& florescent lightning!) are old an cramped. The carpet in the room was also very old (hotels shouldn’t have carpeting, it’s gross). No air con which but they gave us a noisy fan which didn’t do much to improve the quality of our sleep. We were there for 1 night and we moved to another hotel by the lakefront. The staff was helpful and kind. Also know that there is loud music played on the rooftop bar until 10pm but they were good about shutting it down by 10pm otherwise it sounded like you would be sleeping at a dance club. Overall, the views are nice from our balcony but the hotel needs substantial work to bring it into this century.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Gut sortiertes Frühstück. Saubere Zimmer. Lage optimal für den Besuch zu Fuss des Zentrums von Ascona. Infrasruktur zum Teil (Schliessanlage, Badezimmerarmaturen) erneuerungsbedürftig, aber noch funktionell.

Sehr praktische Lage, ruhig, sogar etwas Seesicht. Waren schon mehrmals dort. Frühstück war besser als letztes Jahr, sogar mit glutenfreiem Angebot. Parkplätze zum Teil sehr eng, aber super, dass es in Ascona überhaupt welche gibt. Kommen gerne wieder

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel war sehr enttäuschend, die Parkplätze waren schlecht organisiert und die Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Schon bei der Ankunft mussten wir ein anderer Parkplatz suchen, da diese sehr eng sind und das Auto nicht ins Parkfeld passte. Trotz neuzugewiesener Parkplatz, wurde nach einem Tagesausflug unsere Parkplatznummer neu besetzt, wir mussten erneut einen Parkplatz suchen. Zusätzlich zu den Problemen mit den Parkplätzen, waren unsere Zimmernachbarn bis früh in den morgen extrem laut. Trotz mehrfachen reklamieren an der Reception sowie das direkte verweisen an die Nachbarn, auf die sehr ringhörigen Räumlichkeiten, mussten wir den Aufenthalt unter diesen unangenehmen Unständen frühzeitig abbrechen. Trotz all diese Unannehmlichkeiten, wurde seitens Hotels keine Rückerstattung für die nicht angetretene Nacht anerkannt. Da gewisse Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit waren, bewerte ich unser Aufenthalt mit zwei Sternen… sonst wäre es für dieses Erlebnis max. ein Stern. Vielleicht hatten wir nur pech…

Wir wurden wie immer sehr freundlich empfangen und der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Der speziell reservierte Parkplatz sowie das Ein- und Auschecken hat geklappt. Ein sehr netter Herr hat sich als Herr des Hauses vorgestellt und war sehr unkompliziert und zuvorkommend . Wie seit Jahren immer wieder gerne👏👍

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel. Zimmer im sauberem Zustand, üblicher Standart. Das einzige was wir vermisst haben ist, ein Wasserkocher mit dem man sich am Abend einen Tee aufgiessen kann, dass nur so nebenbei und ist keine Kritik. Frühstücks-Buffet war sehr reichhaltig und gut sortiert. Gebucht haben wir, Zimmer mit Frühstück. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Hotel, mit seinem freundlichen Personal, mit gutem Gewissen Weiterempfehlen!

Auch wenn die Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen sind - vor allem die Badezimmer - sind sie sehr sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet (inkl. Badezimmer). Es funktioniert alles. Der Empfang ist sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Man hat wirklich das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist schön angerichtet und die Produkte frisch sowie regional. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. :-)
