Rivertrees Country Inn

I think Rivertrees achieved the goal of making you feel you are in touch with nature. The grounds are extensive and you can actually do a one Mile loop around the beautifully landscaped grounds and river banks. The food is great, and the service attentive and friendly. They let us eat ala carte when we were full and tired and did not want the full menu. We had pizza!!! It was wood fired and good. Instead of isolating tourists from the community, the resort welcomes local residents to the pool( paid access) and offer a movie night. Our room was massive with a shower and a bath.

A beautiful lodge that allows you to enjoy the tranquility of nature! Great service and an ideal location to enjoy all that Arusha has to offer. Multiple tour offerings that allow you to enjoy the area. The meals and bar services were delicious!

Beautiful setting , nice cottages , nice river walk, and the food , especially breakfast, is outstanding. Suggest food bug spray since a fair amount of bugs . Also suggest spend 1-2 days here either before or after safari to tarangire , Serengeti , etc.

My husband and I stayed here just one night but found it to be quiet lovely, especially after a long flight from the U.S. Both the room and the bathroom were very nice and spacious. The grounds of the hotel were quite delightful. We spent some time just wandering around and I still don't think we got to see it all. Our room was located near the river walk. We also visited the vegetable garden. Throughout the grounds there are QR codes where you can learn about different plants or the stingless bees. We caught some monkeys jumping around the trees and made friends with the hotel cat. The staff was very accommodating. They not only let us make some changes to the evening menu, they also allowed my husband to buy one of the nice wooden doorstops in the rooms (don't ask why but he just wanted it) for a very reasonable price. This was the perfect stop after a long flight -- it felt very secluded and the hot water/nice bed made for a relaxing evening. Not only would we stay here again, but I wouldn't mind spending a few extra days next time.

It was a great time! The food and environment were amazing, and there was solid Wi-Fi except for the rooms. The employees were very helpful. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very nice, with hot, running water. The beds were comfy and didn’t have bugs.

This hotel is amazing. It’s located halfway between the JRO airport and Arusha, just outside the bustling city. The cottage was large and comfortable. The food was so delicious too and it’s very close to Arusha National park. I really enjoyed walking by the river in the afternoon and sitting by the fire in the evening. Highly recommended!!

Stayed in Rivertrees for a couple of nights before travelling further into the country. Everything about this place is very enjoyable: the well kept grounds with wonderful old trees, the river running through and a lot of space, both in common areas and around. Being on the main road between Arusha and Kilimanjaro airport, it is easily accessible, yet providing a perfect place to relax in the most lovely environment. The rooms are also spacious and comfortable, the staff friendly and courteous, and the food very good, specially the breakfast selection. We experienced some delay on the check-out due to striking card terminals, but the issue was all but forgotten when we returned some days later and were given a warm welcome although not staying at the lodge this time, courtesy to the staff displaying a high level of professionalism on the occasion. Highly recommended.

Great base for out trip to Serengeti and the Ngoro Ngoro crater. Located between Kilimanjaro airport and Arusha airport Rivertrees is a great staging hotel for trips in the region. Lovely comfy rooms and bathrooms, great pool and bar and a super restaurant. Great atmosphere with some hustle, secure and comfortable. Filtered water provided in the rooms, along with mosquito nets and toiletries. Mosquitos were a pain in the evening so take longs and shoes that cover your feet. Nice firepit and gardens for the evening. A lovely place to stay at the beginning and the end of our trip.

I have visited Rivertree's restaurant many times throughout February, March and April. It has been a great experience with good food, good service and delicious cocktails. In addition, it is in the most beautiful, authentic and African surroundings. - Kathrine
