Had a quick get away with some girl friends last weekend and booked one of the cottages. A week before our arrival, a concierge wanted to help plan our stay (never been to Arp, just knew it was close to Tyler). So she let me know about dinner times at their on campus restaurant, breakfast options, and Sunday brunch. I though that attention to detail was pretty nice. Upon arrival, all the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. The room was cute, cozy, and had amenities that you usually don't see at a hotel - robes, sparkling wine upon arrival, and water bottles at no charge. I think their signature move is the fresh rose in a vase, which was lovely. You can see the plans to expand their vision into a little destination, no need to leave. With a pool for the summer, fire pits on the chilly nights, miles of walking paths, surrounded by trees and rolling fields, the morning walk was quite nice and the serene atmosphere kept us not eager to explore what lies beyond the property. Lost vision is evident for this destination location, nested in the Arp woods. Ownership seems to have a clear path to making this a quaint, all encompassing getaway. *Sidenote: If you can make it home without a stray dog, you are better than we are! (*More of a small, Texas town problem than High Hill issue.) Would go back for sure!
