Zafiro Menorca

We spent October Half Term at The Zafiro Menorca and we could not fault it. The hotel is perfect for families, particularly with young children. The grounds and rooms are spotless, and the food and drink is some of the best we have had in an all inclusive. There's something going most of the day for the children and the animation teach were fab. We spent most of our time by the pirate pool which was fabulous for little ones. The evenings were made easy as the children could enjoy time on the bouncy castle and large play area whilst we enjoyed a drink and watched the entertainment. The staff were all super friendly. The hotel is 5 minutes from the sea and a 10 min walk from the beautiful marina and beach. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go on the beach as the sea was so choppy but it was the end of Oxtober. We took the bus from outside the hotel to ciutadella which is a beautiful town. I must add the restaurants caters very well for allergies and each dish is labelled. I'm a coeliac and there was always plenty of choice. We would definitely return as it is such a superb family hotel.

Food entertainment and maintenance of the place brings it down. Sunbeds are broken and chairs in the evenings uncomfortable. Towels around tye pool shabby. Food is basic and not as on offer, Pool cold. Supermarket close, harbour and small beach close by. Lifeguards on the ball and walking around checking. staff friendly, lots for young kids

It was a very lovely hotel with really good staff and facilities were perfect. Can't wait to come back!.

Had a great holiday, our 2 year old had the time of her life running and bouncing all day long...........

Excellent position for the lovely Cala'n Bosch beach and harbour. Also good for the local bus to ciutadella

We stayed here for a week (10-17th May) Set up is really great for toddlers. We took our 2.5 year old boy. We stayed in block 1 which was quiet and next to the pirate kids pool we couldn’t hear the entertainment at night. The room was spacious, clean. Sliding doors in the bedroom and blackout curtains made evenings easier as we put toddler to bed and could still relax on balcony and in living area. Travel cot on wheels and beside bed was perfect and our bed was really solid and comfy. Tiny weeny kitchen only really suitable for using the microwave and making tea coffee and toast. Fridge is handy too. We were self catering and quickly realised that we weren’t going to be able to cook much in there but we paid nightly for the buffet which was €50 inc wine and beer for the 3 of us per night so not too bad. The food was good- no queuing and always a large selection. The kids choice was well thought out for fussy eaters. Always something like pasta, nuggets, fish fingers and peas, pizza etc in the kids section. Pools were great- kids pool only knee high so even though it wasn’t that warm about 22c it was still warm enough for a splash about. There’s a bouncy castle and play park next to the entertainment so you can sit and have a drink and watch your kids burn off energy very easily. I think you’d struggle on bad weather days as there isn’t much near the resort apart from the marina which is restaurants and bars although there is a soft play called pirates on the marina in one of the restaurants! Beach was okay- pretty pricey for sun beds at €18 for the day. Not much around in terms of amenities again. All in all it was great for us as a family with small children. Staff were all really smiley and friendly. Didn’t really see much kids entertainment it was mainly on stage in the evening.Bit of music some games dancing. Our little one wasn’t interested though so can’t really comment too much on that. Transfer took a long time with jet 2 because of the drop offs if you can afford I’d get a private transfer if you have little ones as it adds a fair bit onto overall journey. 1.5 hours on way there. About an hour on way back. Overall we had a really nice time it was good for the price we paid with jet 2. £1200 for a week including flights, transfers etc. I’d go all inclusive or half board next time though 😄

Great for families, for this time a year it’s nice if especially the kids pools can be heated more. Disco time can also be a bit earlier.

We had a lovely holiday. Location is good, staff are wonderful. Rooms are a good size. Food was good if a little repetitive sometimes. Entertainment team really make the stay, they’re incredible Our minor points to note would be that the pools are VERY cold. If they were heated early season it would greatly improve the experience. I’m sure mid summer it would be pleasant

Very disappointing. The food was very average at best, wine poor and atmosphere noisy. The swim up pool I had paid extra for was not "swim up" and a total rip off. You couldn't see the children in the pool from the terrace and it's certainly not private. Other guests came over, escaping the nosie of the very busy main pool. The entertainment was for little kids, nothing for adults and involved a lot of screaming. The service at the pool bar was mixed, some days we were ignored. Could not recommend at all. Far too expensive and unpleasant. Have stayed at far better 3 star hotels.
