Anemos Luxury Grand Resort

A delightful experience from start to finish. Had slight reservations it being near a main road and the view took that in but in fact one could see the sea and the road became irrelevant. Though full capacity one never felt claustrophobic, the pool courtyard is so beautiful too but the beach takes one's breath away as it stretches for miles and it is sandy which is a huge plus. Room was great, bathroom too and a very reasonable upgrade offer to boot. The food whether the buffet or the seafood beach based Sirocco, one of the several restaurants available, copious, varied and outstanding. In case one has had enough of the sun and the beach then only a bus ride away -- the stops are just outside the hotel -- there are Chania and Rethymno, both beautiful old towns well worth exploring. Chania is bigger and the streets wider, suspect Rethymno -- its fortress is something to behold -- becomes quite crowded at the height of the season due to the narrower thoroughfares. However, both are well worth a visit. It is, though, the staff that make it such a pleasant experience. One might say well it is their job is it not, but these are very special people who are professional and at the same time relaxed and make the stay feel very familial. However, here forgive me is a list -- incomplete -- of the stars of the show -- Guests welcome and many other things besides Chrysoulla, absolutely charming, witty and generous with her time as well as a superstar, with her team. Reception/front desk (Marianna and others) managed by Adonis who were extremely helpful when our return flight was cancelled and found us a lovely stable even though the hotel was full...the buggy drivers Mihailis and Dmitri (Verstappen and Senna) who were fun and good company on the way to 'Miami Beach'. Valtis and his outstanding team at the main restaurant, Valtis a sublime manager, calm and discreet but always with a steady hand at the tiller, Giorgios the Roof Top barman who again is personable, discreet and extremely interesting to talk to plus a very good cocktail maker, Stelios, Artenisia, Eloudia and the other staff at the Sirocco are terrific, always put you at your ease and never rushing you. Altogether one of the most enjoyable holidays have experienced largely thanks to the wonderful staff. Efhcaristo!!!!

Lovely well equipped hotel. Excellent pool area for children. Restaurants and food very good. The only negative is that pool towels were only available from one area which was a distance away from the water park, and they only gave one towel per person.

everything was perfect, the rooms were spacious and clean. service at the highest level, excellent restaurants near the sea on the beach, Beach bar, Aquapark, animations. a lot of staff, all very polite, courteous and helpful. varied cuisine with new dishes and cuisines every day, perfect for a family with children

This was our honeymoon. Amazing hotel ,amongst the best staff I have ever encountered. Friendly, courteous, totally focused on guests relaxing. Beautiful hotel, very clean. Absolute first class food & drink. A la carte restaurants well worth a visit. The roof top bar, Yorgos ( I think thats the spelling) deserves 5 stars on his own. Great entertainment. Lovely beach, small town very close 30 minutes walk along the beach or 6 euros in a taxi. We have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels. This one far out shines the rest. We never return twice, but here we definitely will. Crete is a beautiful island. Too many positives to list!! So worth a visit. 😎🥂🏖

Beautiful hotel complex! Lovely room, we had a small private pool. But there are larger communal pools and the separate water slides area. Never cramped, never had to fight for a sunbed or space. Buffet food had a huge selection (would have loved more Greek food!), the staff are so friendly and polite. Lovely touch of driving guests around in golf buggies if required, my son LOVED that! The à la carte restaurants, pool bars and beach restaurant are all lovely. The beach is stunning, so clean. And again, no fight for sun bed space at all. I stayed with just myself and my 6 year old son, and had the best holiday ever. We are looking to return with more family next year. Probably one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. If you get the chance, take the Talos Express happy train circular route to lake Kournas to swim with the turtles- ask at guest services. Best day out we had- memories forever! Wonderful experience, fantastic place and truly a luxurious resort. The life guard at the children's pool was extremely polite and helpful. The staff couldn't do enough...everyone from the restaurant servers, to the Golf buggy drivers where pleasant and happy to go above and beyond. Perfect family holiday to create wonderful and lasting memories!

Enjoyed a week's holiday in this aesthetically pleasing hotel, close to the sea, with clean and spacious rooms and a decent standard of meals. The grounds are well maintained and the flora and fauna create a beautiful environment in which to relax.

Fantastic holiday with the added luxury. We stayed for a week at the beginning of June. The hotel reception is stunning and comfortable on arrival. Check in was very easy using a QR code. We stayed in room 6601 which was a two bedroom family suite and was huge. Perfect for a family of four. The food was great. The buffet was fresh and varied with plenty of local cretian and Greek food. We ate at the Asian and the Italian restaurant and they were both fantastic. Lunch at any of the pool bars were excellent. Drinks were of a good quality and I like that it was waitress and waiter service so didn’t need to go to a bar to get drinks. The sunbeds were all wooden and with a full body fusion with head rest. No need to have to reserve sunveda which was also refreshing as there were plenty at this time of year. The pools were fab and our kids loved the water slides Evening entertainment was relaxed and great with professional acts performing every night. We are highly likely to come back again next year. We would definitely recommend.

On arrival we were upgraded to a Pool Room. That turned out to be a real bonus because the weather was very hot 30 degrees plus. The staff are just amazing. They all work so hard. They remember you and have time to chat and you can get to know them. The hotel is situated on a beautiful sandy beach with loads of sunbeds everywhere. The pool area is huge, again with plenty of sunbeds. No "towel reservations" at this hotel thank God. The main restaurant has a fantastic selection of food and the A La Carte restaurants (we were allowed four visits during our 10 day stay) were very good - although I would say the Italian restaurant was our least favourite. Think they were trying too hard to be "different". But don't miss the Fish Restaurant on the beach in the evening. This restaurant/beach bar is no ordinary beach bar and during the day they serve beautiful meals/snacks. Drinks are of as good standard everywhere - with one word of warning. If you drink wine ask for the small individual bottles because the large ones are a different local brand and are , let us say, not to everybody's taste!!! We are lucky enough to have stayed at many 4/5 star hotels in Europe and around the world and would rate this one as one of the best. Go there - you will love it. Thank you Anemos for a lovely holiday
