Gianfranco was an amazing host, and the views from the property were out of this world. Although there are a lot of stairs you have to take to get to the property. It was stated breakfast was included but it was just a coffee and some cakes. The view from the terrace made up for it.

Lovely property hidden away but close to everything. Short walk from bus stop or ferry. The video sent on how to get to Casa Mao was extremely helpful as sometime it is hard to find any location in Amalfi, especially if you have never been here before. Our host Gianfranco was extremely helpful and informative. Our room was clean and comfortable. Sitting on the terrace in the evening with a breathtaking view overlooking the city was wonderful way to end the day and breakfast there was a beautiful way to start it. Highly recommend a stay here.

Love our time here at Casa Mao. Spacious & very clean room in the perfect location in Amalfi. The view from the Terrace is one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen, especially at sunset. Loved the history of the place & the decor/meaning behind it all. Keep in mind, it is A LOT of steps to get to this property. So pack light and be prepared. Totally worth it though!

Gianfranco, the owner/caretaker of the property was highly responsive and accommodating with good local recommendations and personal connections around town to help get us into beach clubs/restaurants that online said were at capacity.
He met us at the ferry and walked us to the location, which is a little tricky to find and up many stairs. The view from the roof was very pretty. The room was clean, comfortable and larger than most.

Amazing view of the whole town from the rooftop terrace! We spent time up there every night having some wine and admiring the views of Amalfi, the sea and the mountains. Our host Gio is great! He met us down by the ferry and even help carry our luggage up to the hotel. BTW be ready to do leg workouts a few times a day! It’s ＞ 150 stair steps, BUT WELL WORTH IT! He also provided breakfast for all guest every morning, great coffee and pastries. The full experience started weeks prior to our arrival with tips and advice from Gio who sent us ferry info, restaurant recs and even stayed in contact with us to make sure we would arrive to Amalfi safely and timely. I would stay in Casa Mao every visit to Amalfi.
