Alta is a town that is difficult to reach in winter, so it is good to make reservations as late as possible to get a refund without penalty. Accommodation owners and tour operators will take your money and not refund you even if you prove that you didn't arrive in Alta due to weather (cancelled planes or planes that were unable to land). I am writing this review in order to express utter disappointment with ***********. They are a company with a reputation, so I would have expected some degree of customer service. This was really not the case. An awful experience which will lead me to never again use their services. Disappointing, would not recommend. We had a booking for a few nights for an accommodation in Alta. However, we were travelling from Tromso and the airline cancelled the first flight. Then the second flight for which we were scheduled departed from Tromso, but couldn’t land in Alta due to weather conditions. Due to this, we couldn’t make it to Alta in time. We tried to cancel with the location directly, but we were told that we didn’t meet the cancellation deadline. Then we reached out to *********** as they are an intermediary and would expect them to help facilitate in such situation. However, after emailing and speaking with several people, we were told nothing could be done. Cancelation policies are meant to protect accommodations from abuse, but this was truly not the case. We made all possible efforts to make it to Alta and the circumstances were not in our control, the cancellation policy.
