Marpunta Resort Alonnisos

I recently had the pleasure of attending a yoga retreat at Marpunta Hotel with a group of friends, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by the incredibly supportive manager Joe and his attentive team. The hotel itself is nestled in a serene location, boasting not one but two stunning beaches. Each offered a tranquil setting perfect for relaxation. The crystal-clear waters and pristine sands were a highlight of our trip, providing the perfect backdrop for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. A special shoutout to the manager,Joe, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. He offered valuable advice on the best beaches in the area, which allowed us to explore and enjoy some of the most beautiful spots Alonissos has to offer. His attentiveness and genuine care for our experience made a significant difference, and we felt truly cared for throughout our stay. In addition to the breathtaking surroundings and excellent service, the hotel itself is well-maintained, with comfortable rooms and good food. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to make our retreat as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Overall, Marpunta Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a serene getaway with beautiful beaches and outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend this gem.

It is a truly idyllic place with a wonderful beach, swimming pool and restaurant where you can watch the sunset. Joe and Dimitri and all the staff cannot do enough to make your stay an absolute pleasure. From the moment someone picked us up from the airport took us to their sister hotel The Princess in Skiathos ( as we had a late flight) then taking us to the ferry the next morning and handed us our ferry tickets the level of service is amazing. The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day with fresh towels. Just a truly fantastic holiday

Had the best time at Marpunta Resort! The property is such a magical, peaceful place, a true hidden gem! I was here with a group for 5 days for a retreat. My experience was great. The rooms and overall resort is kept impeccably clean, and I was blown away by the two beautiful beach front areas that feels like you are on your own private island. Talk about relaxing!! Special shout out to Dimitris who greeted us at every moment with a smile, his hospitality was top notch, 5 star, and truly stood out above the rest. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and accommodated all of our needs at every moment!!! He was greeting guests every day with a smile made our trip even that much better- he was so helpful from the moment we stepped on the property with our luggage and showing us around to everything the property had to offer both on and off resort. Food was great, plenty of options at the buffet and I especially appreciated all of the kitchen staff and chefs who carefully accommodated my nut allergy and answered any questions I had throughout. Our waiter for dinner, Akis, was excellent and made us laugh every night at dinner! I enjoyed delicious coffee every morning from Barista Alexandros and the bartender girls at the pool bar were also fantastic. Thank you all for working so hard to make for a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back!!

My husband and I just departed after spending 2 weeks at Marpunta Resort. I will say that I was not led by any social media or any articles from the UK times. We have been to Marpunta already 4 times, and each time, it's more and more amazing with its beautiful beaches and friendly staff. We celebrated our 36th anniversary in April so we decided to enjoy ourselves. The reviews below are harsh and unfair to these hard-working kids and staff members and management, and obviously, these heartless individuals are spoiled and soar individuals who strive to make other people lives miserable. The only thing subject I will agree on is the restaurant manager yelling at his already uninspired staff and reprimanding them in front of guests and other employees. This person has no business working in such a beautiful establishment like Marpunta Resort. But these kids work hard at the service, and yes, they need training, but some of these reviewers must have never asked what happened. We did and understood them and had sympathy. Some heartless reviewers without know just passed judgment. Get over it and move on if these kids don't remember your anniversary. It sounds like these people had no plans and relied on these staff to celebrate in a crowded room their accomplishment of marriage. Many people don't care about your birthdays and anniversaries, if that's why you came here. You came here for the wrong reason. The food and the environment were plenty for my husband and me and other friends we made while being there. But it is clear that the true individuals holding this resort strong are the housekeeping department with their clean and spotless rooms and your front of the house at reception. Dimitris and Joe NOT the deputy manager but the delightful Resort Assistant Manager. Both have a smile that lights up any room and any situation. Dimitris was a bellman who helped us and is now the front desk manager. Great selection, Marpunta. He makes everybody feel welcome and warm staying at Marpunta. He is always ready to assist guests with such charm. Joe is the true leader of this resort, and we saw tjis last year. He is passionate, cares about people, stays, and runs his rooms, which are strong and high discipline. His leadership and attentiveness show in him throughout the resort. This Yank from American who has 3 decades in the industry of hotels, brings a different type of hospitality to Greece that others are now following. He even picked up tables and located them somewhere else at dinner to accommodate some whining or ungrateful guests staying there. We saw him pick up dishes and clear tables, the service staff enjoyed him at dinner, and the staff followed his lead. Such a great lad with true meaning of a leader and manager behind his name and reputation. Dimitris and Joe are the future of Marpunta and some of these reviewers spent more time enjoying and getting to know the staff they could see what wonderful people they truly are. We had a great an

Very accommodating hotel and very relaxing. Super friendly staff especially Zois and Dimitris! I had cut myself, and within seconds the staff treated it, and made sure I was okay. Pleasurable and satisfying experience. Will definitely come back!

Resort lovely embedded into nature at the oceanfront, in the trees, with amazing viewd to the ocean. Dimitris the Front Office Supervisor being the all round talent, a lot of energy and hearty hospitality and customer orientation.Thanks for your care and making us a great time! We have just had the most amazing two weeks ever at Marpunta Resort. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, then look no further than this hamlet of paradise on the island of Alonnisos. The journey, although long, was an adventure and each section was timed perfectly. We were met at Patitiri Port by the lovely Christina of Albedo Travel who expertly handed us over to Joe the hotel manager. Our room was lovely and very clean, we especially loved our shower (it was so big). We had everything we could need for our stay. The rooms are located up a steep hill, which at first seems daunting, but the hotel provides a buggy service to take you up to your rooms (or down to reception) any time up until 11pm. Often Dimitris (Front Office Supervisor) would arrive in the buggy with the biggest smile on his face to pick us up. What a lovely lad, so friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was amazing, there was so much choice and the staff were very attentive, friendly and cheerful. The pool area was very clean and well equipped, there were plenty of sunbeds and they were so comfortable. The pool bar was there for drinks and snacks when needed and Mario would very kindly carry your orders to your sunbed for you. I would like to say that Georgia, in the pool bar, makes the most amazing coffees and frappes. Every evening at 6:30pm we took the hotel free minibus to Patitiri Port and we were picked up at 9:15pm to be taken back to the resort. The mini bus driver Simon would tell us about his stories and experiences working around Europe, he is such a nice, friendly person, we often shared some funny stories. The Assistant Manager Joe is an amazing man, so kind, patient and respectful, nothing is too much effort for him and this is reflected onto his amazing team at the resort, there is a perfect blend and harmony with the staff. Mark and I miss you all very much and cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone at Marpunta Resort you are all amazing and helped to give us such wonderful memories. This Vacation had been booked since November 2023 and we were looking forward to a lovely stay after such remarkable reviews ! The location was amazing the room was small but spotlessly clean Front of House worked tirelessly and to make up for issues elsewhere ! We were aware the location was a good thirty minute walk into the port so we booked the Vacation half board to avoid walking into the port or arranging a taxi to and from the port Reminder this Hotel is Four star and based on previous reviews our staycation should be exceptional ! The Hotel welcomed various guest from European Countries Evening Meal Help yourselves to aTable if you can find one Clean and Laid Out for Service, We may get around to you ordering a drink with your meal if you are lucky and if you are drinking wine the size of the glass presented to you for the price. If you don’t mind moving plates to one side of your table you may have a table quicker but don’t expect to have the table cleared for you to eat ! Looking at the amount of staff there was a problem : the amount of and ability of the staff working within the restaurant! The issue were exacerbated with the restaurant being busy ! We were greeted with a buffet style meal. On the surface looking good to start but very cold.Plates were small same size for starter and mains, One positive sweets had the same plates but portions controlled by the staff to avoid shortage by greedy Europeans First Evening Meal of our Vacation and still no drink with NOT even water presented Trying to obtain a reasonable drink we visited the Pool Bar this was closed but according to the Hotel Information it should have been opened until 11pm ! So we retired to our room after having a long day travelling and keeping an open mind this would improve the following day with the breakfast service unfortunately we were so wrong with our expectations! Breakfast from 7.45 am we were down for 8am looking forward to the amazing views and the breakfast ! The views did not disappoint but the breakfast did again short of staff tables not ready and drinks service non existent if you required a reasonable turn around for drinks you had to present yourself and ask politely for the drink you wanted. The Gentleman serving the drinks seemed less than Happy to say the least Regarding the Breakfast Food certain elements were missing Toaster for example ! Food selection looking good but Luke warm to say the least By the time we were leaving Breakfast plates were amounting up on the tables reducing space for peoples chance to enjoy Breakfast After this we decided we needed a rest on the sunbeds around the pool but towels weren’t available until most mornings until more towards lunchtime rather than 10am ! This theme continued and we witnessed quite a few people complaining at the main reception but they were presented with apologies like ours for example struggling to recruit staff and train so early in the season and we will improve going forward being

The worst holiday experience I have ever had in over 50 years ! This is a beautiful island, exception views and a lovely looking hotel, great reception and housekeeping staff but that is where the positives end sadly. The General Manager just does not care about anyone but himself and is just so rude but the assistant manger Jo and Zois do and are holding the hotel together. The service and food in the restaurant are non existant, if you want to eat you have to clear your own table and set it yourself., the tables every night were full of used plates. The food was always so cold and service terrible. If you want a drink good luck it took over an hour to get service and when you got your glass of 180ml wine it was 125ml at the most but charged 8 euros. Nothing is open following your meal, there is a beautiful inside bar and seating area as is was cold on an evening but not open, neither was the outside pool bar We booked this hotel for our special anniversary and were so disappointed. After 6 nights we could stand no more as was just spoiling our holiday so we contacted Jet2. Jet 2 were outstanding and moved us to the sister hotel Skiathos Princess which was just outstanding, amazing staff, food and service which is what we were expecting from Marpunta. Marpunta is a beautiful location it just needs to deliver the same standards as their sister hotel which is possible looking at their reviews last year, and please stop with the excuses people are paying good money for a terrible experience.
