Casa Ressia

We stayed 3 nights together with friends and enjoyed every minute of it. Especially, the warm hospitality of the owner family, Federica and Alessandro. The location is idyllic and quiet, in the midst of vineyards and farm country, 5 minutes by car from Alba. We went for hikes and wine tasting during the day, lounging at the pool in the afternoon. Lots of great restaurants nearby that the hosts can recommend. One small note; the available internet connection is very sporadic, so don't plan on using it much.

The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts are delicious with a good variety of continental style choices (cold cuts, cheeses, breads, jams, yogurt, sweet offerings, etc.) The hostess makes many of the delicious tortes offered. At breakfast each morning, the hosts make time to talk to each and every guest to see how the previous day went and to make suggestions (if you'd like) for the current day's adventures. As it was summertime, breakfasts were served on the terrace. Both host and hostesses speak good English (far, far better than our Italian). Communication was very good. As this is a bed-and-breakfast, dinner is not served and the hosts provide a list of local, recommended restaurants. We went to several, all of which were very good. The rooms are spacious, up-to-date, and very clean. They are not "fancy" but very nice. The new pool is a lovely addition. The location is just "over the hill" from Alba in a small vale in the heart of the wine region. It is a 10-25 minute car ride to just about every charming hilltop village in the area. It is a working agriculture endeavor ("farm" is not the right word) with the vineyards and hazelnut grove behind and in front of the house. Hint: while there are plenty of enoteca in the area to sample Dolce, Barolo, and Barbaresco and some vintners have tasting rooms, if you want to tour a vineyard, you need to contact the vineyard well in advance.

Worth a try if you want to stay in calm and beautiful surroundings. The owner/hosts are really friendly and welcoming.

This is rather rustic lodging and for the price of another local place we stayed, we felt it was expensive comparatively. Parking is a gravel lane walk to a garage downhill. Unfortunately for the owners (and guests), long-awaited construction was finally taking place due to spring rain. Obviously out of the control of the owner, it still was an inconvenience of which we knew nothing about ahead of time. Amenities are sparse. Make sure to bring your own shampoo/conditioner, soap, lotion, etc. They are not provided. The only mirror was above the bathroom sink. We had a dressy event to attend and we could not see anything below our neck in the mirror! A simple full-length mirror on the back of the bathroom door would have been nice. Breakfast was amazing and the owners were kind.

We had an excellent stay, Very nice hosts, Good breakfast, Good room. What more can one ask for. They have made a 2 page instruction to how the place works. On that page is also a list of recommended restaurants - we visited two of them - they were excellent. I will keep that list. Here they among other things produce their own hazel nuts - and make there one hazelnut spread .. I can highly recommend to taste that. We plan to be back later this year..

The setting is beautiful. The drive up the mountain from Alba is winding and the scenery if incredible. The host and hostess were there on site to answer any questions. The room overlooked the vineyards and at night was very quiet. Try their homemade hazelnut spread - very rich and tasty. Recommended restaurants for us to try. It's a beautiful area. Continental breakfast with wonderful coffee.

Lantligt hotell med egen pool i närheten av Alba. Måste ha bil för att nå Alba. Frukostbuffén var i minsta laget och brödet var inte färskt. Trevligt värdpar som tog hand om oss som gäster.

Merci Frederica. Cet arrêt d’une nuit a été la plus belle surprise de notre voyage. Cet hébergement est une grande maison (une ferme) sur le terrain d’un vignoble. Si ça vous enchante de vous réveiller sur un cocorico au milieu de collines italiennes, vous serez bien servi! Les chambres sont confortables bien équipées. Le personnel est chaleureux et très accueillant. Il y a juste 8 chambres dans la maison alors faites vites!
