Hôtel Club MMV Plagne 2000

I hope you find my honest review helpful before you consider this place. Id had enough after 3 days here. I read all the reviews on trip advisor and I told myself-"we are easy going people who can see past most negative comments. We will be fine" OH DEAR HOW I WAS WRONG!! Arrival.-12pm Sunday 30 crystal guests arrived with only 1 poor girl on reception it took sooooo long and everyone had questions to ask with no real help from staff or reps. -We were told we must provide a credit card for the €200 deposit ( resulting in a credit card transaction fee, thanks!) -rooms were not ready for check in we were told it would be late afternoon so leave cases and bags in the 'theatre' and they'll phone us. 3pm came around and after exploring plagne centre we came back and asked if it was ready. Yes, found our room an absolute state, it hadn't been prepared yet. "Sorry, we will phone you". 5pm still no call so I asked and it turns out it was ready. - wait in theatre area where children running around banging into tables and drinks Room. -I read reviews about it being small... but this is ridiculous. We had a 3 person room, NOT A CHANCE!You can not walk around the bed the space is that small, you have to shuffle side on bruising your shins as you go. I'm 173cm & 72kg, anyone larger will struggle in this room. -no chairs, tables, sofa, desk or balcony so in order to relax after skiing or after evening meal you have to sit in bed! -TV no international channels (no big deal, I'm not here to watch TV its just nice to have it on in the background sometimes) -cleaning service, not great -hairdryer burnt melted plastic giving the impression it could blow up at any moment (the rooms no major issue just its not somewhere you can relax so I feel its worth noting) Restaurant - ABSOLUTE JOKE (all other reviews are true) huge queue starts to form 20 minutes before opening -greeted by 7 staff who will 'try' to find you a table. You'll pass lots of vacant tables which you will question but be told "you can't have that table it is for 3 or 4 people and you are only a couple" (Or 4 people can't have the 6 person table). You'll follow around all 4 levels of the restaurant only to return to the top floor where you suggest they separate a table. They don't like it but problem solved 2 couples can now be seated. (Take a jumper or other item to indicate its your table, if you get up together for your drink or food you'll return to your table being given away!!! Yes this really does happen to multiple guests every single night!) - children run around the restaurant touching food and putting it back! -pasta station is so busy the wait is so long -I don't consider myself to be fussy at all, I'll eat anything but I really struggled to enjoy the food here (personal preference but other guests said the same) -most plates, cups, bowls chipped and cracked -chef coughing over food most nights -free wine during meal time Entertainment - all in French (of course, we are in France but the

I don’t normally write reviews on here but felt I should. I too had read all the negative reviews about this place prior to our stay and was a little apprehensive on arrival. However from our experience, the really negative comments are not justified. The hotel was clean and tidy and staff helpful and friendly. Whilst the restaurant menu was not always to our preference, there were always other options avilable and we never went hungry. The location is absolutely brilliant and the on site equipment hire facility really convenient. The rooms whilst not huge, do have plenty of wardrobe space and storage self for bags etc. Beds were comfy and we were warm all week even when there was a short cold snap. The hotel was a part in what was a great weeks holiday. Would I stay here again?, absolutely.

Had a great week in La Plagne and staying at MMV made it both convenient and relatively in expensive for the French alps especially as I was on my own. Despite many comments on the rooms I found then a good size and very clean/modern. The boot room was in a superb place right next to the slopes and the bar area with the entertainment was very good. Staff were excellent very friendly and the hotel on the whole was a pleasure to stay in. Down side: Well if you have read the reviews the bus drops you off and picks you up 250M away from the door which in winter conditions I would imagine is very challenging as it is quite steep. Lucky in March there was little snow on the roads. The restaurant on the first few days I thought was great but watch out for the un expected vegetarian night which was awful and the plates were always cold meaning your food got cold very quick especially at breakfast times. Cutlery was dirty including classes which you could tell was a dishwasher thing. That said you just needed to exchange them for clean ones. Deserts were out of this world good!!!! The decking area is a sun trap which is great for March. All in all would I stay again most definitely. The allusive is the way to go now I think and MMV have got it just about right.
