Hotel Foresteria Baglio Della Luna

NOOOOOO! Not a good experience at all!! After reading 100’s of positive reviews we booked this property for a few nights while needing a place to while visiting the Temples and Scala de Turchi. We are a well traveled couple and have stayed at many different accommodations from quaint and charming B & B’a to luxurious 5 * properties.I This (hoping for charming)was NOT what we were expecting at all:/ the entrance coming up the street is in a very beat up unkept area and the front of the building non existent. Just “ugly”. When we entered there were staff in formal attire which led us to “believe” this would be more of a “service” oriented property as opposed to one with the amenities you would expect paying £158/night. Then came the room…OMG….from the second the door opened we were blasted with the smell of mold! So bad that even with the doors and windows open it wouldn’t go away, this is not just a little mold but dangerous BLACK MOLD that made us both quite sick. The breakfast was nothing special! Zero hot food and basic stale pastries and old fruit! Bed felt like cement, pillows were a joke, furnishings dated, grounds although pretty with very nice distant views were really nothing that specia !! Where are these positive reviews coming from???!! I am annoyed with both Trip Advisor as well as *********** for not verifying these reviews and steering us in the wrong direction!!! After this experience i don’t think we will ever trust” these websites again!! We headed on our journey to the next stop with a hotel rated far lower and paid £84 per night for an incredible experience!! It saved our bad “trip” and lifted our mood!! Please dont go by the reviews of this property or be prepared to be gravely disappointed:/ im sorry but i had to post this to help or stop the next person!! Couldn’t wait to leave that is how bad it was:(

Io e la mia compagna ci siamo voluti regalare un viaggio in Sicilia, tappe Palermo, Agrigento e Catania. Ad Agrigento era impossibile non andar a vedere la Valle dei Templi, allora abbiamo scelto questo hotel, siamo rimasti entusiasti su tutti i punti, la struttura è eccellente ma forse le persone che ci lavorano lo sono di più, gentilissime ed estremamente cordiali. Hanno saputo rispondere con competenza a qualsiasi domanda e poi la cena, che dire, ottima, non mi immaginavo che il ristorante di un hotel fosse così! La cura nelle pietanze servite è sicuramente da 10, hanno un cuoco o cuoca oltre ogni aspettativa, ripeto non solo nel cucinare, ma nel servire, nel consigliare, nel raccontare e spiegare le pietanze, il tutto non si limitava a degli ottimi cibi ma era condito anche da quel sapere che i gentilissimi camerieri hanno saputo raccontare a dei semplici commensali. In futuro torneremo da voi

We were delighted with the hotel. Our only regret is we only stayed 2 nights. Would have loved more time. The grounds are lush and filled with the scent of trees and flowers. Our room was spacious and had a view of the city. The food and service were exceptional. The manager arranged a car and got us a reservation at a fantastic Michelin star restaurant with a window view of the temples lite up at night. Absolutely beautiful property meticulously maintained. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely hotel! Our room 211 was in the front of the hotel. While it did not have a balcony or a view of the valley or gardens,our room was spacious with a small sitting area and hallway. The bathroom was spacious. The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained. We only stayed one night but I wished we had stayed longer. We ate lunch in the restaurant. It is charming with stunning views of the valley of the temples. The food was good and we enjoyed the Sicilian dancers and band. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They arranged two private tours for our group.

Staying at Baglio Della Luna was a magical experience. The rooms are incredibly beautiful and spacious. We only spent one night, but I wanted to spend another day and just simply relax. If you have the time, this is a perfect hotel to take a break during your trip and relax for a whole day. It has a resort feel to it. It has beautiful gardens overlooking the Valley of the Temples. At night when the temples are lite up and it is a surreal experience looking out over the valley. There is a beautiful jacuzzi hidden in the gardens you can go to that is surrounded by lounge chairs.

This is a lovely hotel, great food, great service, nice rooms, huge shower, and good views over the Valley of the Temples. There is a nice child friendly sandy beach just 10 minutes walk away. Really enjoyed our two nights here, very comfortable. Take a walk up to the top of the watch tower, great views.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful! We enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was excellent. One of our guests had some plumbing problems. Even though I would stay there again.

Located very conveniently about 2 km from the Valley of the Temple entry gates, Baglio Della Luna is a great choice for convenience and ambiance. The hotel consists of an old tower, which houses 3-4 rooms, and a more traditional building which houses around 20 rooms. We were in a tower room, which afforded beautiful views of the valley and the Temple. The baglio is situated on beautiful, well manicured grounds with an equally beautiful courtyard patio. We were there for only one night to visit the Valley of the Temple, but enjoyed our stay. The dinner was quite good, bar service was good with an excellent and entertaining bar tender and generous drinks. The dining room is comfortably elegant, as was the sumptuous breakfast and beverages offered in the morning. The bagio is also a short distance from the beach, which is an easy 15 minute walk.

Beautiful hotel, traditional features. Views from the watchtower of the Valley of the Temples were great. The hotel has advertised no lift, however, two floors of spiral staircase with a large suitcase was challenging. Also, to be noted, there was a low ceiling in the spiral staircase. Food in the hotel was good, but at the top end for price for anything else we had eaten. Location for visiting the Valley of the Temples was perfect, just a 5 minute drive.
