St. Nicolas Bay Resort Hotel & Villas

We stayed here for the first time from 29th July till 5th August and it was absolutely incredible. The staff are what makes this place so unique, they are fantastic. So kind and helpful all the time, nothing is ever too much for them. They made a huge fuss of both my children (age 1 and 7) and every night I would go to the bar to get milk for my daughter's bottle, they warmed it and filled it up completely free of charge, by the 3rd night they already warmed it before I even got there as they knew I was coming! The facilities are incredible. Do not hesitate to book this, yes it is pricey, but it's so so worth the money. All the small details are thought out, plus the food is insane! Buffet always sounds so cheap, but this was a buffet like no other, and you can order a main from the menu at no extra cost. Alex the manager was always around, morning, noon and night, saying hello to guests and making people feel welcome. He made such a huge effort with my little girl Cleo who reminded him of his granddaughter, and he even gifted my son a present at the end of the holiday a lovely piece of artwork on stone. He was present all the time. Big shout out to Manya who worked on the drinks at breakfast and at the lunch bar, she was so friendly and just a beautiful soul. I hope she sees this review and gets praise, she didn't have a name tag on but she should have! She's so amazing with the guests and the children too, my son George was sad to say goodbye to her as she would give him a cuddle every day. I could go on and on, but just know this place is pure luxury and the children were made to feel just as welcome as the adults. We hope to be back in the future. Thank you Alex, Manya, Nikos (the porter who was the happiest person you could ever possibly meet) and the pool guy, whose name I don't know but he was young, dark stubble and bald head, all of you made our holiday so perfect.

My sister and brother in law stayed at the St Nicholas Bay 20 years ago and recommended it to us. We are so happy that they did. I was excited to go based on the trip advisor reviews and they did not disappoint. If you are looking for a relaxing, tranquil holiday experiencing true Greek hospitality, then look nowhere else. Walking to our room at St Nicholas Bay always felt like strolling through a Greek village. As other people have said, the staff and the management are what make this hotel stand above others we have visited. I have never stayed anywhere where the General manager is always around, strolling and chatting with guests and ensuring they are happy. The main pool area isn’t big, however we never had trouble finding sun beds, either by the pool or by the beach. The cove for me was truly amazing. I am not one for sand and really appreciated being able to get straight into the deep end of the sea without having to wade through sand. All the hotel team couldn’t do enough for us and made our holiday and my 50th birthday getaway a very memorable trip. We look forward to coming back soon.

This was our second stay at this hotel and it did not disappoint. I am always skeptical about second hotel visits as often they don’t live up to your first experience, however this proved to be just as good, if not better. We had a couple of issues regarding our room, not really the hotels fault as our room was just a bit smaller than we had hoped, however they dealt with it perfectly. Alexandros, the hotel manager, could not have been more accommodating and offered us a choice of other rooms. This made us even more confident that this hotel was our favourite hotel we have ever stayed at. The friendliness of all the staff was amazing, they always remembered our room number when we ordered anything and greeted us like they knew us well but at the same time very respectfully. They were all the same staff from last year which was very comforting and gave us familiarity. The cleaning staff around the pool area, bathrooms were brilliant always keeping bathrooms to a very high standard. Housekeeping were also amazing. We will definitely be returning next year, which we have never done before - a third year in a row.

Beautiful resort and location. The staff cannot do enough to look after you and make sure you are comfortable. I book the trip for my mums bday and we were very lucky to be upgraded to a beautiful jacuzzi suite. The hotel management always visible, ensuring high standard and a repertoire of performance, wine tasting, nice gifts in the room. You cannot go wrong. Will certainly return.

A wonderful experience! From the arrival throughout our stay, we truly had an amazing 3 night stay at the property. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade (due to Hilton status) and a wonderful suite, overlooking the Bay. The location was perfect for us, allowing us to enjoy the resort but also be close enough to town. Yiannis & Manos at the Bonatsa Jetty Bar are THE BEST! Their hospitality, kindness & service made our visit extremely special. We hope to return in the future, thank you again!

A really nice place to stay, we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a pool, and found it to be comfortable, and having all the amenities you would need. Even though we went in high season, it never felt crowded or overly busy, and all the staff including Alex the General Manager, were very helpful, polite and courteous throughout our stay. We used the Spa facilities, and found them very good, the pools were never too busy, and there was the added benefit of having a small private sandy beach. The restaurants were good, and the buffet we found to be more than adequate, and you can still order from a menu, as well as using the buffet for starters and dessert. A short taxi ride away is Agios Nikolaos, and this was nice to visit, and the Hotel kindly helped us arrange a sunset boat ride from the Marina in the town centre. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed, and even on departure the Hotel were exceptional. This Hotel has enough to do if you like or as little to do as you want, it really does blend both. Once again a lovely stay was had by us and it was made even more special by Alex and all his staff.

We have just had a lovely holiday at St Nicholas staying in the villas. The stay was absolutely fantastic, but not faultless. To begin with the positives, the villa itself was just beautiful. It was incredibly clean and spacious, with a beautiful sea view - you could not fault the villa itself! Towels and bedding were changed daily, and the housekeeping staff were so kind. The aircon was amazing, working very quickly and effectively, and the villa also had lots of good amenities like a dishwasher and hairdryer. The grounds of the hotel itself are absolutely gorgeous with such beautiful scenery. We mostly used our villa pool which was salt water, but the communal pools and beach area had lots of free sunbeds and there was also a regular pool that wasn’t salt based. The app is another great feature to the hotel, where you can easily contact the hotel for help with bookings or other general services. However there are some areas that could do with improvement. The WiFi in the villa was very poor, not working at all downstairs and was very patchy elsewhere which was quite a persistent irritant. The rest of the criticisms lie with the restaurants and staff - we were really shocked that most (not all, there were some very lovely workers) were not very warm or helpful. A lot of the reviews spoke about the very friendly staff so this shocked us. The general manager does say hello everyday, but this is a minimal effort and didn’t elevate our experience. The restaurant staff did not want to chat and made no effort to communicate beyond the bare minimum. Further, the breakfast was quite disappointing. No access to any self service drinks, and given such a minimal amount by the staff. The food was ok, but very little variation. The same goes for restaurants - we were half board but ended up visiting Agios Nikolaus (which is beautiful and well worth a visit) for some better food and more choice. One night the food took over 2 hours to arrive and another a dish was missing to give examples of the short-fallings. While the food was tasty, and the atmospheres are lovely, the eating at the same 2 restaurants for a week gets old quite fast. You also have to pay for water which seems slightly unreasonable. The buffet was again very average. The hotel needs more food options of a higher standard to fully satisfy guests. That being said, we had a very lovely time and would still recommend. The views, weather and villa itself are perfect. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel and we want to go back already We stayed in room 802 which is one of the rooms with a private pool. The room was absolutely wonderful, massive beds, plenty of wardrobe space and adequate room for a family of 4. The staff at this hotel are what makes it extra special. nothing was too much trouble, from breakfast right though until last orders all the staff were welcoming and had a smile on their faces They remembered us, remembered it was my daughters birthday and made a fuss of her and also remembered that my husband has a gluten allergy We were given gifts throughout the week as well, including bottles of wine and a lovely box full of olive oil, herbs etc on our last day, all delivered to our room with a little note, was a really nice touch Although we had our own pool we also noticed that the pools around the resort always had plenty of sun loungers and the private beach was the same The choice of restaurants is also really good, we chose to eat in the greek kafenion on our last evening and it was wonderful with greek dancing and plenty of food The minotaure was another favourite of ours in an absolutely beautiful setting, right by the pool We tried the spa out as well while we were here and again the staff were really friendly and helpful and the treatments were wonderful The hotel is a short taxi ride to the town and the reception staff were always happy to arrange a taxi for us The hotel also has its own app that allows you to book restaurants or day trips This hotel is really special and I guarantee you will have a great time The Manager, Alexandros, is also always at the hotel, it was really nice to have him around checking that everybody was ok and enjoying their stay. You can quite clearly see that he takes pride in how the hotel is run We will be back!!

We stayed as a couple at the start of July for a week. The resort itself was authentic rather than super modern and we loved the style of it. Room was very clean and comfy, bed slightly hard but that’s personal preference - but we had the most amazing sea view and garden. The pools were clean and just the right temperature, and loved the fact there were sun beds along the rocks to sit on too. And sun beds were never too busy. The ala carte restaurants were definitely worth visiting especially the Greek night. Food was excellent in both. Service overall around the resort was good especially the evening and day restaurants. The resort was clean and never saw any mess or dirt around, maids were a good standard. Walk into town was 30 mins but ok to do in the evening after the sun went down. Slight improvements from our opinion only that would make it better; Drinks service around the pool could be improved and should be no glass bottles around the pool Buffet dinner was good but not excellent I would loved to have been able to get an ice cream in the afternoon, there could be a coffee/ ice cream shack for daytime use maybe Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend for couples to visit
