All staff at this hotel were excellent. Always ready to help with a smiley face even though they all work long hours and didn't appear to have a day off in 11 days. The pools and hotel grounds are beautiful, gorgeous views, great location with a short walk to local shops and restaurants. Almyros beach just a ten minute walk is the nicest beach in the area by far. We had a standard room and although comfortable, could do with an update- definitely not 4* standard. Also a shame that there isn't more focus for Kids, they need more parasols around the kids pool, park unusable as there's no shade. The outdoor theatre and kids room advertised on website is not open/being used even though the hotel seemed very busy. Would definitely recommend for couples and older families.

Fantastic stay. Everything from the staff to the quality of food was beyond our expectations. Four swimming pools. Two restaurants, one a la carte. Our room had a fantastic view with it's own plunge pool. It was just a short stroll into Aghios Nicklaus. All in all a super holiday at the MiraMare.

Great Hotel in a fabulous location. All the staff were exemplary, always going out of thier way to make your holiday extra special, from showing you to the best sea view table in the restaurant to advising on trips and excursions the locals would use, in reception. You could feel a happy working environment all over the hotel. Restaurant was lovely, we didn't pay extra to visit the al a carte, Found plenty of choice and to a good standard in the buffet with plenty of choice and with awesome panoramic view of Mirabello bay. Pools were spotlessly clean at all times and bar staff fantastic,preparing fabulous drinks especially the ice cold frappe. It was extremely hot while we were there and these were most welcoming. Rooms dated, but really clean and a good size. Great location, easy walk into Agios marina and Town. Small gravel beach to the left of the hotel, golden sand beach with fabulous beach bar a tadge further 10 mins walk to the right of the hotel. Negative grumbles.... (Booked with Easyjet ) 1....We paid All-inclusive but only drinks available we're Beer,Wine and Ouzo !no spirits or cocktails... 2.... We paid for sea view, We had a partial side sea view. 3.... No water in the room. You bought water in the shop. Or recieved a sml glass at the bar. 4... You paid to use the safe in your room. 5....You paid for a sun bed at the beach.( Beds and beach bar are a private concern, not part of the hotel.) Would we return to the Miremare Beach resort and spa. Yes we would, fabulously relaxing holiday in a beautiful location with amazing staff to make your holiday special. BUT NEVER ALL-INCLUSIVE. Very dissapointing ..

Our second visit to the Miramare & Hotel lived up to all our expectations. The steep slopes can be navigated around the complex by using steps & lifts to make it easier & it's certainly worth the view of the bay & Agios you enjoy from the hotel. All of the staff were amazing & friendly. On arrival we were told some sandwiches & cake had been left in our room which we preferred than going to the restaurant late in the evening. We were half board & food quality & variety was excellent in particular extensive breakfast choice. We'd only stay half board as lots bars cafes within walking distance which are excellent. Our only minor complaint which we highlighted at reception is there wasn't sufficient sun loungers around the pool. I counted 40 which isn't enough & needed another 20/25 as there is plenty room for them & at times in afternoon people would struggle to find one. Otherwise an excellent holiday & we'll certainly return another year. Thanks to all the lovely staff

First the gripes : Arrived late , a sandwich in my fridge, got to the bar (22.53)to be told I could have one drink before the all inclusive finished. You could only have lunch on all inclusive in the main restaurant, even though both pool restaurants were empty. It's very steep - you are warned ! Positives : The restaurant staff are all great, especially Sophia, the lovely buffet lady with the red hair, and the constantly there restaurant manager. Food us fine and the a la carte restaurant by the pool is memorable for the views in the evening. Rooms were clean, a bit dated and basic but fine Wine was all fine , cocktails poor. George and Manolito in the bar are great. There is a pebble beach to the left of the hotel with the most beautiful clear water. To the right of the hotel about a 6 minute walk is a shallow sandy beach , 2 beds and a shade are €10. Spinalonga well worth a visit

We have just stayed for 10 nights at the Miramare and what a fantastic time we had. We had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was a nice surprise and had the most amazing view over the sea and local beach. The hotel itself was lovely. Three pools to choose from but we loved the local beach which was a 5 min walk away. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great, the assortment of food everyday was brilliant and nothing ran out, they were always refilling the trays quickly. The bar staff were great too, always happy and nice to chat too. The town of Agios Nikolaus is wonderful to go into in the evening. Loads of restaurants to choose from and lovely streets to wander down and many shops to look in. The lake is beautiful at night when it is all lit up. We found a small cafe/bar called Aroma Cafe which we went I most nights. Milo’s and Yianni (father and son) ran it and they were great fun and recommended restaurants to go to. All in all we loved Agios Nikolaus and will certainly go back soon!!! Highly recommend Crete!!

Awful hotel. Bad, bad bad. We sent an email in a few days before arrival. Spoke to the restaurant manager and he didn’t receive it??? Bad communication then. The food was typical canteen English food. When your in Greece you want Greek food?? Coffee machine had 30 people queueing every morning? Awful with the other machine not working. Hardly any sunbeds for a hotel of that size. Disgusting! We had nowhere to sit! Room wasn’t cleaned properly. Asked the restaurant for a bottle of water as we were all inclusive and was told that I had to go and buy a bottle but I could have water from the bar in a cup???? Asked for snacks? Nothing available only at set meal times. I’ve been to loads of all inclusive hotels and they have snacks around the clock. Disgusting that we were hungry at an all inclusive hotel! Staff at reception were rude! They gave us a room way far up the hill and I have bad arthritis so asked for a room near to the reception. They moved us but weren’t at all sympathetic! All in all awful experience and I’d never go back

The Miramare hotel service was absolutely brilliant and it made our holidays amazing. We arrived at the hotel at 1.30 am and surprisingly they offered us a warm meal and upgraded our hotel room for one with a swimming pool. The room was daily cleaned and spotless, there are 3 swiming pools but we only used it on the last day as we prefer to walk 5 minutes to a sand blue flag beach. Restaurant food was very good and staff amazing. Everytime I made a request they happylly acomodate it. Our flight on our last day was very late so we had a complimentary room for a shower. The complimentary room was small but clean and with clean towels. We also had every night evening entertainment. Really can't fault it was a lovely experience 😊

We have returned early this morning from a ten day stay on an all inclusive basis with sea view room. It was just wonderful!!! The food offering in the buffet restaurant was of a high standard, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, with a varied menu each day. The drinks were all a recognised brand, not cheap locally made - my G&T was always Gordons. The main bar was just stunning, as were the views from the pool by the A La Carte restaurant. The staff were lovely, Manolito, George and Natalia in the main bar were so welcoming and friendly, as were the delightful restaurant staff, without exception. The facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained and the service impeccable. I'd have to be really really petty to find fault. Thank you to all the staff for making this holiday so special, it's now marked as the favourite and we will definitely be back!
