Alexia Beach Hotel

Pebble beach with no safe access to the water, breakfast the same every day, air conditioning old and dangerous to health.

This hotel was a 3-star hotel, but I'm unsure why because it was very nice -- perhaps because they didn't offer dinner(?) I rate it 4/5 because: Pros: 1. The pool does not close. You can swim at your own risk after 8:00 (20:00), unlike the 5-stary hotel down the road (Porto Platanias). The pool is very nice, with water that's not too cold or warm, and actually larger than Porto Platanias. 2. You can sit where you want for breakfast, unlike Porto Platanias. 3. Great breakfast that you can take to the seaside. 4. Quiet during night and day. 4. Friendly staff. 5. Two large rooms, including kitchenette, two air conditioners, balcony. 6 Two TVs -- one large TV with Netflix, YouTube, etc. Cons: 1. The only con I list is that the parking is a small dirt road, which gets your car very dusty and dirty.

Superior room was really nice and had perfect beds. Even the extra bed in the room was really comfortable. So were all the pillows. Room was very clean and has a good air condition. Breakfast was ok. And so were pool bar with snack and drinks. Also very friendly staff there. The pool area was clean and nice. The location was perfect and near everything (bus station, mini train station, restaurants, Agia Marina and Platanias). We really enjoyed our holiday there.

We stayed for night at the Alexia Beach hotel as we was travelling around Crete and needed an overnight stay. we arrived 5pm ish and headed for the pool bar where we had a large beer which arrived with snacks and nibbles free of charge. We stayed in the newly refurbished rooms which were lovely and clean and very nicely refurbished. we had a lovely breakfast. The pool area and beach were lovely but we didn't have time to use these facilities. We went out to eat at Romeroes in the evening and had a lovely traditional Greek meal wit great service.

We stumbled across this place on the first day of our holiday, staff were really friendly and so kind to our little baby. The food was excellent and we returned many times to try many more things on the menu. Would definitely recommend to anyone

We stayed in the Alexia Beach hotel for 7 days in the sea view room. ROOM: The room was completely renovated. Very nice, clean and had everything that you need. The bed is very comfortable and big, bathroom is clean with rain shower head but it also has a separate handheld sprayer. It has a little balcony with view to the beach and the pool. You can sit there with 3 people and has a little coffee table. You might think that it's noisy as it's right above the pool but the balcony cancels all noise. You also have a little fridge with a small freezer compar**ent, a kettle and coffee machine. Little downside is the storage issue. There's no closet to put all your clothes if you brought a lot of items, you do have an open closet to hang your clothes but no shelves or draws. However for us it wasn't a big issue. Our room got cleaned every day and got fresh towels every day too. Our room was always spotless. STAFF: The staff is very friendly! The breakfast ladies, the bartenders, the cleaning lady and the handyman, you can always ask them for some advice and they will help you without a doubt. FOOD: We only had the breakfast at the hotel, which had all the basic. It's good and fulfilling. We only had once lunch at the hotel, we tried the burger which was very good. We didn't eat more at the hotel just because we like to try out the food at different places, not because it was bad ;-) BEACH: The beach, it so serene, not crowded at all, you have comfortable loungers with a parasol. You'll always find space on the beach or at the pool. The beach itself is very clean, the water is crystal clear (you can even see little fish) and it has a nice temperature. We were lucky to have 5 days of calm sea, the last two days the sea was a bit rough and you were not allowed to swim; you have a lifeguard right next to you. You also have right next to you a stand where you can hire jetski, or do the banana or other water sports. LOCATION: We liked the location, it's not as busy or touristy as Platanias (next town), you still have lots of restaurants/bars to go to for lunch or dinner. Next to the hotel you have a bus stop. The bus brings you to Chania or to Kissamos but you also have a taxi stand where you can book a taxi or just go and ask for a taxi. For a 3 star hotel, we were pleasantly surprised and we really recommend this hotel, we would go back without a doubt.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had, hands down. My travel plans changed and I missed my free cancellation window by a few hours. In the past, with other hotels, it has never been an issue, and I always would get a full refund, sometimes with the exception of the first night. I called the hotel and politely asked whether it's possible to get ANY of the money back, 50%, 20%, as a single mother travelling alone with a small child, I would appreciate anything. Our stay was supposed to be 5 nights, I was calling more than 24 hours before the check in, and I was confident that jn the middle of July, with more than 90% hotels fully booked in the area, they would be able to rebook my room again. €600 is a simply lot of money for me to give away for something I haven't used. I actually begged and brought up all these arguments only to hear from the rude male hotel manager: No, it's too late. The conversation left me shaking and on the verge of tears, and needless to say, my card got charged the minute I was supposed to check in, and my booking got cancelled immediately after, so they could rebook it again right away. I appreciate owners' urge to make up for the lost year of income due to Covid restrictions, but this greediness, complete lack of customer service and refusal to meet a begging person half way is very unfortunate and no way to conduct hotel business in the highly competitive Agia Marina.

Our studio apar**ent was quite old and the fridge was very loud. Keep your ear buds with you. Cleaning was poor and for that we didn't leave any tip. The pool was nice and the beach was very close by. Breakfast was average. Like I said, an average hotel and would recommend for families with children.

Nosotros viajamos muchísimo y es la primera vez que nos sucede esto. la habitación era vieja no lo siguiente, cuando le dijimos al señor de recepción que no se parecía en nada a las fotos de booking lejos de ser conciliador nos levantó la voz y nos respondió bastante mal y nos dijo que el aire acondicionado y el baño eran nuevos que no sabía cual era el problema, no nos ofrecieron ninguna alternativa hasta que a traves del servicio de atención al cliente de booking que hay que decir que fue excelente, hablaron con recepción y a dos días de marcharnos nos ofrecieron un cambio de habitación, que evidentemente no aceptamos que que llevabamos ya 5 días en la otra habitación. Al reservar detallad que queréis una habitación reformada sino… suerte! Por otro lado el desayuno, no hay microondas con lo cual la leche te la tienen que calentar las camareras, eso si les di avena con leche ye dijo que eso no me lo calentaban que sólo la leche, tampoco hay tostador, yo tengo intolerancia a la lactosa y al gluten y no había ninguna alternativa, con lo cual un desayuno bastante básico, el café es aguado, eso sí al lado del hotel hay una cafetería que ponen un cafe muy bueno, lo cogíamos y lo llevabamos al desayuno. El personal del restaurante de la piscina es majo, eso sí si pides comida armate de paciencia, nos dijeron que en 15 minutos y tardaron 40 de reloj. Para rematar pedimos un late check out pagando evidentemente, y nos dijeron que era imposible que estaba todo lleno, vale sin problema nos fuimos a la piscina para pasar allí la mañana y entregamos la llave , nos quedamos con dos toallas de la habitación para secarnos y devolverlas después y vino el camarero de la piscina a obligarnos a devolverlas pensando que las íbamos a robar…. vamos un desastre. Decir que ibamos con dos niños de 5 y 8 años y que nos alojamos 9 noches pagando casi 1500€. Una basura de alojamiento salvo por la piscina, QUE NO OS ENGAÑEN LAS FOTOS NO VALE LO QUE COBRAN!
