Agriturismo Mare e Monti

Silvio, our host and Gaetano, our waiter every day and all the crew were excellent hosts! Friendly, always smiling, our room was super confy and the food was extraordinary! I’d recommend it to couples, families with young kids or solo travellers, too!

Se stayed for five nights. Very peaceful and quiet, comfortable beds, spectaculous view over the mountains and Salerno bay. Host Silvio and all the personel were very friendly and helpful. Tasty breakfast with bread, cheese, cold cuts, homemade cakes, fruit etc. Nice location If you want to hike on the mountains. Quite a long ride from the cost but worth It . Good choice If you appreciate peace and friendly local a**osfere and countryside.

Thank you Silvio for your wonderful hospitality, exquisite food with local recipes. Most of the ingredients coming from the farm or from local stores. Topping of the dinner with the local Nocino, strongly suggested. We really loved our stay high above the Amalfi coast with the evening scenery.

The agriturismo is located on a small road on the edge of a steep hillside (or cliff if you take a look from the Belvedere) and offers a great view over Amalfi and the Amalfi Coast. Your wellcome is warm and loud: Silvio doesn't stop explaining and telling you about the agriturismo, the regio, the hiking trails, the food and so on. His sister Anna is the calmer part of the family.... Our room was comfortable, cosy and clean. Dinner in the evening is quite an experience: Antipasti, primi, secundi and dolce all are available as you would expect in Italy, but you only take 2 courses for your value and with reason: Food is delicious ( rich country food), but copious. No way you can eat it all (even if sharing, or asking for a mezzo portione). At the end you get a little bit frustrated because you leave plenty of food on your plate. If you like to hike, no better place: just 5- 10 minutes walking you find a bus in the center of the town, which takes you to the trails of Bomerano (Sentiero degli Dei or the downhill trail to Praiano). If you like to sit and relax on the beach, that same bus takes you to the beach and back or brings you to Amalfi in order to take the boat to the other Amalfi Coast villagesor even Capri. I drove my car myself for one day and left it afterwards, because it's not faster, parking spots are limited and expensive. Moreover, the driving experience is quite stressful although I drive quite a lot in daily life.

We've stayed for 2 weeks overhere. Book it if you are traveling by car only (they have a lot of parking space). Their breakfast was very poor. Couple of slices of prosciutto and cheese. Some cakes. Some fruits with flies. (Although they asking every time "breakfast ok?") Cofee was too bad. 2 dinners that we had were absolutely bad. I didn't it my last dinner at all. But paid 40 euros for that. Overpriced. 3 sausage dogs were trying to steal my steak from the table. Some nights the dogs were barking. Nothing to eat. Lack of variety. No English. Room was OK. But mattress was too soft. And we slept like in the ditch. Location is good if you like to hike a lot. Pretty far from town (15 minutes by walk). And you have to climb about 70 vertical meters up. Yes it has very beautiful views from the balcony. But you gonna suffer without good food overhere. It's kinda expensive. We've paid $100 for the night. People are nice but they can't make a business.

Our stay at Agriturismo Mare e Monti was very pleasant. Silvio, the owner made us feel right at home and like family. Food was excellent and the ocean view was breathtaking. I want to personally thank Silvio for treating us very well… Silvio, we will definitely comeback…

Mare e Monti was the perfect spot for us. A small farm on the edge of a small village. Peace and quiet, no urban noise (with some amusing peacocks thrown in). A 15 minute walk to the village to pick up groceries for snacks, a pharmacy, A**, and gelato made it all very convenient. Being 2,000 feet above the coast meant it was cooler and had stunning views.
