Best Western Launceston is a basic, but clean, safe, comfortable well-priced hotel in the centre of Launceston. It's well positioned for the Botanic Gardens and monkey enclosure, right in the centre of the city, and not too far from the river. The room had everything you'd need, or expect, for this price. But what raised the place for me was the service. On a badly delayed flight I didn't arrive until after midnight, but the night manger appeared swiftly, helped me check in, and never once complained about being dragged to the front desk in the middle of the night.

I totally loved my stay at the Pod Inn!! Pros - Walkable to most major sites. - Short walking distance to groceries, restaurants, and stores - Has a restaurant beside/attached to (?) the hostel - Pods are private and spacious (and I'm a big guy!) Bed was cozy too! - Lights and air conditioning adjustable inside the pods - Place has wifi - Has a charging station for phones inside the pods - Common area has kitchen Cons - Reception is only open during business hours, so might be difficult to contact anyone outside those hours - Luggage locker is outside - Pods not too soundproof Over all I never thought I'd love staying at a pod hotel and I'm very happy that I had a wonderful experience with Pod Inn Launceston!

Cosy, comfortable, close to the airport but still close to the city. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room, family friendly, nice little park for the kids to play on.. has a pool but it was not heated like it states on their website. Easy chick in and check out. Lovely staff. Tv in our room randomly turned off and wouldn’t not turn back on. Very basic, and cheap. Not a bad place to stay.

The hotel room is not big, the duplex structure, because of the rain, did not turn around. There is a big windmill which is very suitable for taking pictures

I appreciate a hotel that offers a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave! It always helps being able to cook a little. The view was quite good too, overlooking Launceston, and it was an easy walk into town. Beds weren’t comfy with the springs being closer to the surface than I hoped. And whilst it may be small, the TV only picked up SBS Food. A good channel, but after a big day exploring it’s nice to just zone out which I couldn’t do. Would recommend for a short, overnight stay.

The most comfortable stay on our whole Tasmania trip. Everything was perfect, clean, super comfortable. Beautiful restaurants with great food at reasonable prices. Easy check in and check out. I highly recommend it!

Great location. 5 minute walk to main part of town for shops and restaurants. Rooms clean and tidy and beds very comfortable. Restaurant is small but the meals were nice and the staff very friendly. Room has all the amenities you need (tea, coffee facilities plus bathroom) Opposite the park, lovely for strolls. Monkeys to see between 8am - 4pm

An iconic piece of Launceston history. A beautiful building containing beautiful furnishings throughout - particularly loved the wood furniture. Great location. A warm welcome from friendly, helpful Jude was the start to a most enjoyable stay. Spacious room with a very comfy bed. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. All good! Highly recommended.

Very ordinary hotel, similar to a motel, no service, no elevator, climbing a large suitcase to the third floor, exhausted, Launceston is very small, very quiet,

We stayed here as a family of five in a Family Room with private ensuite. We checked in 15 minutes early but the lady was happy to give us the keys to the room. The accommodation is upstairs on top of a pub/pokies. There is no lift so you have to walk up two flights of stairs and carry your luggage. Our room was very spacious with two single beds, and a sofa bed in the main living area. There was a private ensuite separating the queen bed room which was perfect for my parents. The room had basic furniture, a TV, fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. My son loved having a bubble bath as we only have a shower at home. The room was clean and the wide windows around the room made a good view of the outside which my son could look out of. Our room was situated next door to the communal kitchen and opposite to the shared bathroom which was very convenient. The hotel is within walking distance to a shopping plaza, restaurants, a KFC, Hungry Jacks, Coles and Woolworths. The only negative was that our room was situated along a busy main road and at night you could hear all the traffic passing by so we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. Also our booking via booking.com said we would get two free welcome drinks for two guests upon arrival but we didn’t get that. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay at Mowbray Hotel and would consider staying here again.
