"A localização do hotel é ótima para uma estadia de 1 noite se você tiver um voo cedo, o quarto em si é menor, mas pode acomodar 3 pessoas. O único problema é que tem um banheiro compartilhado e não há água quente para o chuveiro. Não é ideal se você tiver um voo muito cedo e precisar de chuveiro, a menos que você possa lidar com um chuveiro frio e um banheiro comum. No meu caso, tive que fazer um upgrade para um quarto privativo, o que me custou 650 pesos adicionais, além do meu pagamento de 941 pesos, mas tem chuveiro quente e banheiro privativo, embora eu possa obter o mesmo valor em um hotel melhor e mais confortável na área. A equipe é muito prestativa e acolhedora. Eles fornecem um micro-ondas e uma chaleira para fazer água quente, mas você tem que comprar sua própria água. No geral, estava ok."

"Great place for staying. The place is quiet and peaceful. It's a 10-15 minute walking distance to Ayala Center. The road is well lit so it's safe to walk to and from Ayala. There is wifi but need to ask the front desk password. The bed is firm and the room has good ventilation. The shower has hot water that's adjustable according to preference for a relaxing shower. They also have freebie toiletries that smell great."

"I was surprised to see that this is the former Hostel 7, which I have never visited before but I have heard so much about. Positive reviews, yes. I stayed here for one night. Though the structure is quite old, the cleanliness very much compensated for it. The people are amazing too! Very hospitable, fun, and accommodating. The bar is open 24/7. Just a few steps from the hostel is a restaurant (part of Casa Rosario) and a 7/11. This is located near Saint Theresa's College and is within walking distance to Mango Avenue and Fuente Osmeña Circle. It'll be interesting to stay here for more than just one night and just explore the neighborbood."

"This hostel is very interesting. It's like it's part of some good hotel, the staff is very smart, the frequency is perfect. the accessories that are being given out are the accessories of some three-star hotel.
And everything you need is located around. There is a tour desk, shops, massage parlors, and a restaurant. The building doesn't look presentable from the outside, but it's like a pearl in a shell. I advise you to visit this hostel."

"I had conflicts with my hotel bookings and end-up staying at this hostel instead. I stayed at the men’s room good for 4. We were only three during the stay. One was a foreigner from London and the other one is a Pinoy from Tacloban who was in Bohol for the international fun run and who was a loud snorer. Oh life in a hostel.
But overall, the stay is still good considering the cheap price."

"Way Shack Hostel is in a fantastic location for visiting the whale sharks. If you speak to Ken at the hostel, he can help arrange the whale shark excursion, it cost me 500 pesos and was super easy to organize.
That said, I’d recommend only a one-night stay here. We were disturbed both nights by heavy goods vehicles passing by the hostel late at night, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, aside from the whale shark activity, there’s not much else around the hostel to keep yourself entertained.
A scooter is essential to travel to the local town for food or supplies. The hostel staff can help arrange a rental if you need one.
On the plus side, the room was clean and equipped with air conditioning, which made it comfortable for a short stay.
Overall, Way Shack Hostel is a practical and budget-friendly option for a quick stopover if you’re visiting the whale sharks, but it’s not ideal for a longer stay."

A coisa mais satisfatória é o transporte gratuito entre a praia e a estação de ônibus. A coisa menos satisfatória é que não há pasta de dente fornecida e você tem que trazer a sua própria."

AAina M. L. LoronaI had a hot, uncomfortable disappointed, and we were in utter shocked that the room I booked was not in their system. As I was rebooking, it was not the same as the first booking then blacked out occured. During the blacked out the my booking end up with only a bed in dorm style quarters, public bathroom and no privacy.
My first booking was a package trip from Cebu to Manila which still in a wrong date. The actual date for the flight was to be on August 19 @ 9:50 but the three agent that I spoke to on the 18th got my hotel canceled and only provided me a rebooked solution. Sure, I can rebooked, thank so much for making my simple trip into **************** with my family, along withy impatient high functioning autism, 24 years old son who doesn't like his iPad to be low battery and no wifi.
To remind you that the black out still happening, so during my aunty and son lunch the black still going. I have no idea what kind of menu and price for food and drinks. As I saw the server put the first plate of food, I was shocked to see the mountain square shape nacho cheese beyond understanding. My aunty is only 90 to 100 pounds. She doesn't speak English and doesn't understand what she ordered, so she asked question about salad and a slice of pizza. But that not what the server brought, he came out again carrying nacho cheese, same size as the first nacho cheese/beef, except the second is chicken then a whole large Canadian bacon pizza. I couldn't believe the amount of food that was ordered then a Red Bull for my autistic son? My aunty was repeatedly saying that she only want salad and a slice pizza then water. What she really wanted the cook and server wanted to do is take away all the food back including the Red Bull. Oh, one more set of food, two big pieces of Burrito. The hotel is still in black out and stuffy hot and dark.
The staff are not good listener. My son started eating and drinking the Red Bull, when I saw him, I told the staff that Red Bull straight might kill him of a heart attack. I also mentioned that my son doesn't know self control when it comes to food which is called glutenny . He already pass his regular weight. I heard my aunty said that my son ordered all the food; she had no idea what he was ordering.
Meanwhile the black out still continuing till around 5:30 pm, every building around the area has their electricity back on but not the Papabo. Our booking still in process. The manager charged me for the lunch even though the mistake was the their service, taking order from an autistic person instead of asking his parents. The manager decided to booked us in the one room that has two bunk bed, private bathroom and has windows cause still black out. The room is stuffy and hot, it's on the fourth floor, no elevator and dark to go up the stairs. We decided to lock up our things in the room cause still black out.
My aunty over heard that the electricity bill was not paid. So as soon as I got down. The manager charged me 1500 pesos cash plus 1200 pesos for lunch that I only got to eat two slices of pizza and a couple of bite of nacho beef. I didn't get to have the burritos. The Papabo manager quickly went to pay for their electricity bill after she spoke to the owner.
My aunty and me went to the beach. I for sure locked the bedroom and still no electriçity. My son went to 7/11 to charge the iPad. We got back at the hotel at 8:30 or so and the electricity was on and my son also in the in the hotel. Do recognized that the hotel keys was an actual key, and I only have the key with. In my surprised our bedroom door was wide open, our things are scattered on the chair and table. Now, just today at this time, I'm still looking for my necklace that has my Mom piece of earing, my oldest son alligator tooth pendant and my initial pendant A.
I'll call the hotel when I finished looking at our things here.Yap, my necklace is missing.

MMs Project81Wonderful stay for my first hostel experience!Loved the homey atmosphere, the rocking chair and the quiet, respectful vibe from fellow travelers. The location is excellent. 🙌🏽 close to downtown! right in front of a school, and near major museums like Casa Gorordo and the Jesuit House. A 7-Eleven 🌭 is just around the corner. The working 👩🏻💻 space is good, and while the common areas are a bit old, they are tidy and “kirei”. ✨ The staff are super welcoming and work so hard to keep the place tidy. In fact, they are so efficient that a staff member accidentally mistook my 🥯 for 🗑️ and threw it out before I could eat it! 😆 thank you for a good laugh 😂 and just proves how clean they keep the place. 🙌🏽
Traveler tip: It requires a short walk to get to the property, so book a GRAB CAR 🚖 or MOVE IT 🛵 if you have heavy bags or prefer not to walk. 🚶🏻♀️

AAnonymous UserA really great place! The staff are lovely, and the rooms are clean and spacious. I especially enjoyed the unlimited access to the coffee machine for fresh, bean-to-cup coffee. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of hot water in the shower, but for such a low price, it's a very small drawback.

It would have been better though if there were toiletries provided like may tissue. I like that there's available hot and cold water. I will still come back though. I still have plans of getting a room here on my next events.

At first it sounded as if it's working but no cool air is flowing, the remote control is turned on with a 17degree temp, only when I try to reach the AC using the chair it's never turned on as the power button logo says it's OFF, could've save us some trouble if it turns on automatically just like any other hotels when the room/power key is inserted LOL

However, the room facilities aren't the best; the bathroom door and fittings are quite old, and the air conditioning is noisy. It would be even better if there was a table in the room to put things on.

BB_LambThe rooms are clean and genuinely spacious, which was the highlight of the stay. The manageress is friendly and helpful, and the tuktuk service to town is reasonably priced and convenient.
Breakfast was average—only American style, very standard, nothing special.
A few things worth noting: I saw reviews saying there are no blankets and it gets cold at night. That isn't accurate—they do have blankets, but they're not kept in the rooms. You have to ask, and they'll provide them. A simple sign in the room letting guests know this would be an easy fix.
On the positive side, when they learned we were going canyoneering, they offered us beach towels without us even asking, which was thoughtful.
Overall, it's a decent stay. The basics are covered well, but don't expect luxury or variety at breakfast. Just be aware that if you need something, you need to speak up.

However, the Wi-Fi is terrible; relying on the hotel's internet is impossible. You have to ask for room cleaning multiple times. During my stay of almost a month, I only requested room cleaning twice, but each time I had to remind them repeatedly and wait for more than a day.
Nevertheless, they always tried to be polite to us. Security and other staff always greet you, help with heavy luggage, and answer questions.
