"The hotel is conveniently located right by a bus stop, making it super easy to get to the airport. It's also very close to the commercial center, which is great for shopping. The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the cleanliness is quite good."

"I booked Haka House because it was a great rate but I also read great reviews. I wasn't disappointed. It took 5 minutes from the bus stop to walk to Haka House.. On arrival I met the duty manager, he was very friendly and checked me in quickly. My first impression on the way to the room was very clean and ithe place smelled good l. There was a shared bathroom 2 doors down from my room. In the room there was a place to store my bags the bed had a charging station and light. The bed was comfortable and I slept very very well"

"The location is excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk from the airport. McDonald's, KFC, and a supermarket are all within a 5-minute walk, and the Antarctic Centre is also right next door. I stayed in a female dorm capsule bed. It was clean, and the shared bathrooms were decent. There's also a common area with a kitchen, including shared refrigerators, microwaves, pots, pans, and cutlery. You can relax on the sofas or hammocks. My bunk had USB ports and power outlets, and there's a locker with a combination lock underneath. For this price and environment, it's a perfect score."

"Very nice location, good for relaxing, 1 km from town center, but so close to the lake by just crossing the street. I would love to stay longer next time.
If you reach late at night, it’s better to contact hotel in advance and ask for map and photos of your room location before. I arrived very late at night from Christchurch (changed transit flight from Auckland). It took me awhile to understand the map, room location and where to park. It was just 1 day after new moon. So, it was very dark. It’s hard for me to figure out the scale of the place and I didn’t see the small cabin at the back from the street."

I loved staying there and highly recommend to any traveler looking for a funky and reasonably priced accommodation."

"Convenient location - walking distance to town centre. Clean bathrooms. Room is a bit old and heater makes a squeaky sound all night. Be prepared for it to be cold as the linen and blanket provided is insufficient. Only one toilet for a block of many rooms which is slightly inconvenient. Free tea and coffee in kitchen and plenty of cutlery plates etc. as the place is not well insulated make sure you rug up at all times."

GGuest UserMy friends and I had a great stay at The Bealey Quarter! The motel is situated in Christchurch City, allowing easy access to the tourist sites, whether you're travelling on foot, by car, or by public transport. There are plenty of buses and metro buses that frequently stop right near the accommodation as well!
The staff were very friendly. We had a late flight (that got delayed even later) and ended up having to check in after hours. They were very accommodating with this, and similarly, when we asked for new towels, we received them immediately. Similarly, they were kind enough to allow us to put our luggage in their reception office whilst we went to collect our rental car on the day that we checked out. My only issue is that I had to contact them a few times before I received the late check-in details.
The facilities were lovely. and very clean! The bathroom was private with a shower with good pressure and hot water. The bench and the toilet were a little high, which we were surprised by, but this wasn't a major issue at all! My only recommendation would be to add a ventilation fan to the bathroom, as although there is an open window above the sink, ventilation was still not ideal. The room came with a heater, a really good fan, and very comfy blankets and duvets. We were also provided with glasses and mugs, a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, a hair dryer, a bin, a little cupboard, desk, chair, and even a bench where our suitcases fit really well. The view of the courtyard was beautiful despite the somewhat miserable weather, and access to the courtyard via the back door meant we could use the hammocks in the nice grassy area :) The back door was a bit tough to open, and we had to actually get the staff to show us how to use it. My only other qualm is that there is no potable water in the rooms themselves. Instead, our keycard allows us to the Lodge (I believe the hostel area), where there's a kitchen and we can fill up.
Overall, we had a great experience here and I definitely recommend the Bealey Quarter to anyone coming to Christchurch. It was so affordable too :))

YYangyang05The location is next to the road, so there will be noise at night when cars pass by quickly and the houses here are generally not soundproofed. But if the room is near the parking lot, maybe it can be improved. Everything else is perfect, because there is a living room and an open kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a single bed and one with a double bed), a separate bathroom with dry and wet areas, and a hair dryer, which is a great deal

匿匿名遊客The room is large and spacious. Private full kitchen is provided for your cooking. The whole room is well partitioned into sleeping area, washing room and kitchen which are all tidy and clean. The manager is friendly and can chat with you on different topics. Wifi signal is strong.

GGuest UserI had a cosy and comfortable stay. The friendly staff at the reception offered a complimentary shuttle to the airport next morning, a service which I had not realized was available.
The staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Thoughtful gestures included offering a bottle of fresh milk, which was an unexpected but lovely touch, as well as assistance in carrying of luggage to both room and on board shuttle van.
All these small acts of kindness made me feel so welcomed, especially on my last night in New Zealand. :)

GGuest UserYou cannot get closer to Mt Cook than staying on property in their national park. The rooms are like mini apartments with a full kitchen, dining and spacious sleeping area. There is a walk out terrace in the back. The price for this ensuite was less than the Hermitage but I believe a better value for the quality. We spent 2 nights here to actually wind down (1 night is too short) and take advantage of the trails. There are so many. As we knew we were getting rainy weather going in, we picked up some groceries n Twizel to make soup and salad on the first night. We did a walkthrough of the museum and planetarium show which is a short drive (4 minutes). For our last night, we dined at the Alpine buffet restaurant in the Hermitage which had an amazing assortment and local seafood (cured Aoraki salmon, prawns, mussels). We thoroughly enjoyed and took advantage of all that this area offered. Beautiful natural setting. You will not be disappointed staying here. The word motel is deceiving as it's more like mini-suites.

GGuest UserI stayed in a mixed dorm room for two nights. The location of Hakka House is good. The intercity bus drops you there and pick you up. Walking to Hermitage Hotel or Visitor Centre is around 15 mins or so. From Visitor Centre, you can walk to ****** Valley track or Kea Point track, each is 1 hour one way. I highly recommend ****** Valley track.
People in Hakka House usually stay for one night. In any case, for both nights, my roommates switched off the lights of the room as early as 9:30 pm. The room is too stuffy and hot as it seems that only an inch of the window is opened, probably too cold if opening the window more.
Shower room is relatively tidy (very much depends on the users) but it seems that there is only one hair dryer for the entire ground floor which is not convenient. Imagine a lady with long hair will need to use it for at least 15 mins or so and there are many ladies who need to use the hair dryer.
The kitchen is impressive. Well maintained and clean, good ventilation too.

We live in a small villa facing the street. The single-story glass on the second floor is a bit noisy when there is a big car. But still recommended, the Chinese at the front desk are more lax
