Such a Great Location & the Staff is Amazing! It’s located right next to Kings Cross & Coal Drop Yards which is convenient. Check in is simple & they even let you leave your luggage for free if you get their early & after your check out. The staff is so kind, to the front desk, Maintenance, Cleaning Crew & Management. I love how the beds you can change the color of the Lighting. There are plugs for your phone & a locker to store your stuff. Also a bar to hang socks or a Towel. They have a huge lounge area where you can chill or work & a kitchen. Pretty big kitchen, great way to save $ while traveling! Bathrooms are always clean & always hot water. They have events throughout the week which is great for connecting with new people. You can tell the staff is like family here & genuine souls! Definitely suggest checking out this Hostel when traveling to London! My next trip into London, I’ll definitely be staying here. 💚

I used to use this hostel back when it was under YHA management. I’ve always picked it for its close proximity to Euston and King’s Cross. This is the first time I’ve been back since it changed hands. Glad to report that the hostel is still as it was. Polite and helpful staff, modern rooms with beds that have individual lights and charging sockets, lockers for valuables, clean and well kept bathrooms, a bar area downstairs to eat and have drinks if you desire. I stayed in a 6-bed female only dorm and was happy with my stay. Bed was comfortable, my items were safe (locks can be purchased behind the reception for £4), and the sockets can charge multiple devices with the dual USB sockets + a regular 3-pronged socket. Will advise that you turn the main room light off when you want go to sleep as my co-inhibitors left the main light on all night on my last night for some reason. The one area they could improve on was having another pillow on the beds. Mine was so used that it was mostly flat and made very little difference to my comfort.

You get what you pay for - cheap and cheerful. I enquired before travelling about where I could keep my stuff in the dorm and was told that there were lockers. They didn't mention though that I should take my own padlock! The only person around to ask was a cleaner who didn't speak English so I had to run the risk and leave my stuff unprotected...

I stayed for 1 night recently at wombats on dock st. The hostel is perfectly located close to two underground stations and in central london. The hostel itself is very modern, clean and spacious. The manager zsuzska and staff at wombats are kind and friendly. The check in process was quick and the breakfast was a bargain at £4.90. The room itself was perfect and i slept very well in the comfy bed. I would highly recommend wombats to anyone travelling to london. Thank you zsuzska and wombats for a perfect stay. Dave

What a great place to start your day off if your running into the City for a staycation. First, through Luggage Hero, you can drop your bags off here safe and secure and collect them later. On top of that, you can sample the delights of some superb food...my wife and I had breakfast. What a great place, it's around the corner from Euston Station, a short walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras and near all the London Underground connections you need. :)

The rooms were very loud- as other reviews have mentioned. We stayed in the pods and they were clean and cool with the changing coloured lights! The beds were super hard and pillows extremely flat- but pretty standard for a hostel. They also had no clean towels for the first day we were there. The location was amazing. It wasn't the most friendly hostel and felt hard to meet people- but over all, worth the cost! Also, THEY HAVE AC!! huge bonus points for that.. and considering the incredible location and cheap cost, I'd recommend.

Very good Hostel when travelling through London. Siissi the wonderful manager runs an efficient professional team.of friendly helpful staff. Good hospitality, clean, happy to assist . Spacious with secure lockers in the rooms. Nice atmosphere creative artistic crew . The Astor Hostels I highly recommend for safe secure pleasant stay when travel on a budget for short stays. Thank you Siissi for an enjoyable stay.

Absolutely great value for money. Had a great stay here. The hostel is clean and very central. Literally 5 steps away from the tube station that gives access to the main London attractions in less than 10min. The check in is at the Pub downstairs, which is also the entrance to the hostel. Staff is great and always willing to help. Toilets were clean and never had a problem there (bring your own towel or pay 5£ for one, and you can keep it after). Food at the pub is good and the breakfast is simple but effective. Booking directly has big advantages (I booked 2 nights through booking and another directly with them - it’s cheaper, includes late checkout, pub discounts and 20% off in the next visit). The pub is open 24/7 for guests only, and there is no loud music or people screaming in late hours - so you don’t get bothered at all if sleeping at the hostel, and you can always go down for a beer if you feel thirsty. Free luggage room to leave your bags before/after checking in/out. Will definitely go back here when visiting London again. Thanks guys !

Group booked 7 beds in a 8 bed mix room. Two people in the party arrived early to check-in and found out that the group had been separated to different rooms. No one would answer the phone or whatsApp. After an hour of calling and texting using the app they finally responded. Over the course of 4 hours I discussed the situation through the app because they were to ”busy to take a phone call”. They were not willing to help and left no other explanation other than when you book 7 beds in a 8 bed dorm you are not guaranteed to have all beds together. Than make sure to put that out there so people booking can see that. Also, I spoke with two other Hostels in the area, one being another Astra, and they told me that if it was booked that way than we should have all been together. After 4 hours it was agreed apon that if I were to call back in the morning around 8:30 the manager would answer my call. Called and texted over the app and still no response for over 2 hours. Horrible customer service that obviously does not care about the customer. Finally 2.5 hours later they actually did respond but only after the group was able to physically talk to the manager. How is one to make changes to a reservation or let them know of a late arrival if you can't contact them in a timely manner? The reasoning for the intial separation was because others that were already staying, not part of the group of 7, decided to stay an addition night. Than make changes to their reservation of beds and split them up. Don't change an additional groups bed reservation due to others deciding to make changes and stay longer. Sounds like to me the hostel made a mistake and is not willing to admit they over booked. Finally over 16 hours later from initial contact they agree to put us in a room together and maybe do a partial refund. Still should never take this long to resolve an issue. Answer your phone and communicate with your customers. So many hours of vacation time wasted on something that could have been resolved in a matter of minutes if they would just pick up their phone and talk. The group when checking out never received the partial refund for the first night that was discussed and when the group arrived they stopped communicating over the app. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT doing business with this place. Also, I'm still waiting for a response on my last communication through your app from 20 hours ago.

I was supposed to stay for two days but left after the first as I felt unsafe. The place is very unclean. The pictures online are wildly fabricated as I got such a shock when I walked in. Like a crack den. Not meaning to be dramatic but from the uneasy feeling of this place, dirty surroundings, shower in the mixed dorm has no privacy whatsoever. When I arrived late people’s stuff were all over my bed so I was assigned a different room and after staying there not even for 24 hours whilst I was out in London the staff said they needed the room back so they packed up all my belongings without even contacting me. Then I tried to go to the bathroom and I had male house keeping entering as I was on the toilet. I asked if they could give me a minute and I thought they had gone but they hadn’t so I had to tell them to leave quite sternly. Worst hostel as a solo traveller I’ve ever stayed in and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone to go there. Will be messaging for a refund

AVIOD, HONESTLY DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Stayed here as we went to see Coldplay at Wembley. Only good points: Location Price Was going to take pictures but honestly just never want to remind myself of what we stayed in. Just pay the extra £100- £150 and stay at holiday inn/ premier inn/ travel lodge. Just any other hotel really! The entrance was nice and the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful but very slow. Check-in was stated to be from 2pm. We arrived at around 2:30pm. We didn’t get into our room till around 3pm as if took ages to check in and when we finally did check in our room wasn’t ready for another 10/15mins. We were walking up to the room and got a little lost, a gentleman did help us to our room however, like I said the staff are friendly, just very slow at the front desk. Now for the worst part. Our room was absolutely dreadful. Filthy, marks all over the walls. Awful carpet that was dirty, I did not feel safe/clean to just walk about in socks. Someone had used the soap holder near the sink as an ash tray. There was a kettle and cups to make yourself a drink with but didn’t use them as was so traumatised. The door to the balcony did lock but the window didn’t so didn’t feel very safe at all. There was a bottle of beer left on the balcony from the previous occupants, it also absolutely reeked of urine on the balcony. I assume which ever lovely person most likely male couldn’t be bothered to get up and use the communal toilets. The TV was basically hanging off the wall. The only good thing about the room was the bed/bedding was clean and it was somewhat comfy. Now for the other worst part. The communal toilets and showers. I don’t mind communal toilets and showers so long as they are clean, I have used them before when caravaning, when I was a child. The ones at this hotel had honestly never seen bleach, EVER. Mold everywhere, stank so bad. In the sink someone with a thick beard had a shave and left their hair all over the sink and stuck in the plug hole. They also left their dirty razor just lying there. Absolutely disgusting. It said on the toilet door that the communal toilets where cleaned hourly, this is an absolute lie. I wish I had taken pictures but honestly didn’t want to remind myself of this terrible stay. Breakfast was included but didn’t bother, with the state of the rooms, toilets and showers. I dread to think what the kitchen is like!!! Was going to raise concerns at the hotel but what’s the point for £94, didn’t want to make an already terrible stay worse by getting myself worked up even more. I did tell reception about the sink with hair in and they did say they would send someone up to clean it. If didn’t use that specific toilet again though so can’t comment if it was actually cleaned. Just honestly don’t bother, don’t book it and think ‘our room will better’ because it won’t be. We walked past rooms being cleaned with the doors open and all of the rooms are absolutely filthy. Ju

During my recent stay at St Christopher's Hostel in Greenwich, London, I unfortunately encountered several aspects that left a lot to be desired. One of the major drawbacks was the cleanliness of the premises, which fell below the standards I typically expect from hostel accommodations. The state of cleanliness in my assigned room was notably subpar. There were visible signs of neglect, with dirty surfaces and a lack of attention to detail in maintaining a hygienic environment. This aspect significantly impacted my overall comfort during the stay and left a lasting impression that detracted from the positive aspects one hopes to find in a lodging establishment. Equally disappointing was the level of service provided by the hostel staff. Throughout my stay, I encountered instances where the service was notably poor. There seemed to be a lack of attentiveness and responsiveness to guest needs. Whether it was requests for information, assistance, or even basic inquiries, the staff's overall demeanor did not reflect a commitment to guest satisfaction. The combination of inadequate cleanliness and subpar service made for a less-than-pleasant experience at St Christopher's Hostel. It is my hope that these aspects can be addressed by the management to ensure a more positive and comfortable stay for future guests. While I understand that hostels may vary in terms of amenities, a baseline of cleanliness and attentive service is crucial for creating a welcoming and satisfactory environment for guests.

Stayed for one night on business. The room allocated was at the top of the stairs where there was a junction for the corridors leading to the other rooms - the not quietest when other guests start moving about. I asked to move rooms but the manager refused and told me it was tough. Luckily I was up for work early, otherwise staying asleep past 7am would've been a challenge. The room was very dark and had no ceiling lighting. Everything needed a good clean. the carpet was rather gross and there was mould in the shower. Parts of the window were falling off. The bed was comfortable but a standard double so not great for 2 people. The quality of coffee in the room and free water was a nice touch. The breakfast was good and the service seemed better in the morning. I only paid £120 for the night so that wasn't bad compared to other guests. If I'd paid anymore I would've requested a refund and stayed elsewhere.
