Appreciate: 1) Customer support WhatsApp replies very quickly and politely :). 2) Many food establishments nearby. Search “claypot restaurant” we ate there 4 days in a row even after shifting away from this hotel. 3) Swimming pool was nice and clean. 4) Antique decorations in the hotel looks amazing. 5) had 2 private carpark lots in the compound, there are parking spots outside of the compound as well, just unsure if it is legal. We were lucky to have at least 1 lot in the hotel during our stay. Can be improved: 1) Hotel has no reception, make sure customers gets their check in details before they arrive the hotel or at least just before 3pm. 2) Wifi speed can be faster. It failed a few times during my 3d2n stay there. The Mrs and I couldn’t even load google maps. Quite frustrating. Had to use my data. 3) Sound proofing maybe? We had a room facing the Main Street and in our room there’s a door that used to be able to open and go to the balcony but it’s blocked by a large wardrobe. This allowed the sound to travel through the door gaps. 4) toilet can be cleaner, check the floor traps and the make sure it’s clean, cleaner left a ball of hair stuck at the floor traps. 5) toilet floor can have anti slip strips. Really slippery. Had to ban my toddler from going into the toilet. 6) too many mosquitoes at the hotel. Fortunately we didn’t have it in our room.

Location is easy access. Room is spacious. Just 30 second walking to beach..check in is very convenience but need to contact owner before arrival for check in process. We had very pleasant stay ☺️

We had an average stay for the three nights that we were here. Easy to walk to popular locations such as Love Lane and there is a shop next door providing laundry and travel services. The aesthetic of the guesthouse was cool. It’s minimalistic and ideal for Instagram pictures if that’s your thing. We had a private room with a shared bathroom. There was always hot water and the bathroom facilities didn’t get too busy so it meant we never had to wait for the toilet or shower. It doesn’t appear that the guesthouse has a cleaner which is a necessity. There was dirty laundry in bin bags in the hallway for the whole time we stayed. The ground floor and first floor toilet area started to really smell awful towards the end of our stay. And a lot of the toilets kept getting blocked which was gross. It didn’t bother us too much, but make sure to bear in mind that everything echos in the guesthouse - people walking up and down the stairs, using the bathroom, talking and chilling in the social areas. I think they do provide ear plugs if you need them. The staff’s customer service was pretty poor and they were not friendly or helpful at all. It’s very disappointing when you stay somewhere where you feel like the staff simply don’t care about their customers and can’t be bothered to provide basic customer service skills. Also, we were not provided with towels when we checked in as they had “run out”. We were told “can you not wait until the morning” for towels however, we explained that we needed them so we could use the bathroom facilities after checking in (shower after a long day of travelling). The woman behind the desk reluctantly gave us two small towels that she had which were poor quality and had lots of stains. We finally found some proper bath towels the following evening to use. Although it was a cheap stay and good location, we probably wouldn’t stay again due to the unfriendly atmosphere.

Based on my experience over all my staycation,i could say this is the worst experience.The person incharge of the hotel wont allow u to make late check out.they will ask u to left from the hotel immediately or else they will deduct our deposit.but they will not look into the problem that a guest facing from their hotel.Their acircond was the worst (no cold,call to check just response its normal).parking they can tell u easily first come first serve..The area so busy where u CAR Easy can have defects.The environment so smelly of **** and our room was given near laundry😂😂😂Hotel Management,we are not staying for freeeeee to treat us til this stage.overall i can give 3star out of 10star for the bangla worker who very responsive.A kind of pity looking at him.anddd the best partttt the next door guest keep knocking the wall..and the sound was sooo transparent.if i have booked dome,atleast i could Enjoy my staycation rather Than your hotel.PLEASE IMPROVE!!!

Our 3-day, 2-night family stay at Straits Garden Hotel was wonderful! The environment was welcoming, clean, and well-kept, creating a comfortable atmosphere for a family getaway. The owner’s responsiveness made our stay even smoother, as any questions or needs were quickly attended to. Overall, it was a relaxing and pleasant experience for all of us, and we would recommend it for families looking for a convenient and friendly place to stay

check out time is 12pm, but if another hotel is at least 1pm, you can deposit back. This place has to wait until 3 hours to get your deposit. and owner can share the sentence 'don't chase anymore. indeed it will be for a slow deposit 'which is stupid for me as you are doing business, you suppose to answer to your customer inquiry. mula2 asked for payment he said by 1pm. Then he said by 3pm. so it's kind of a bit of a service die. This place has a house and many rooms. The cleaner didn't come today. So who is sitting in the front room of the kitchen mmg akn smell mcm2 laa if the cleaner doesn't come cause garbage and dishes and cups will all stay in the sink. and the sink is right in front of room 3. it will smell and be dirty.

Firstly the staff, they are all really lovely and cannot do enough for you. When we checked in we realised that we had accidentally booked the wrong week! But this wasn’t an issue as we were given a better room for the same price! In fact, we actually enjoyed our stay that much we ended up staying for 14 nights! The location is great, there’s plenty to do, lots of great cheap restaurants and the beach is less than a few minutes walk. Initially it was hard to find as it’s placed in an old shopping centre on the 2nd floor. We took the escalators but there is also a lift. Once you get inside, the secure front door the reception is modern and clean, 24hr help is always available and the rooms lock with a physical key. You get way more than you’d expect for the price. Modern clean rooms with refurbished en suite with rainfall shower. Hot water at all times and reliable WiFi. Tea and coffee 24/7 too! And breakfast everyday until 11am!! Every 3 days we got clean towels, fresh sheets and the room was cleaned. Some guests have complained about the noise from the charaoke which is on the same floor but our room was the closest to this and we were never kept up, the latest would could just about hear it was 23:30 but this was on a Saturday night! The only downsides, albeit small, were the lack of variety at breakfast, lack of natural light in the rooms due to the windows facing into the shopping centre so the curtains should be closed, and the WiFi was a bit slow, but only noticeable if streaming HD videos, for general web surfing it was more than capable! Overall me and my partner were very happy with our 2 weeks we spent here, we felt very safe and relaxed and you can’t argue with the price! It saved us a lot of money on our 6 month trip and was one our favourite place we stayed in Penang! Thank you once again, if we are ever in Malaysia again we will be sure to visit :)

The hotel is close to the street foods market in that area. There are many tourists. people are friendly Super friendly, not scary, near nightlife Or going anywhere, it's very convenient to travel. Grab buses, electric trains, inexpensive prices, cheap cost of living. Try it once and you will love it.
