The location is really convenient with a small shrine, little shops, bus stops, 7/11, and train station 5-7 min walk away but be sure you know which direction you want to go… the roads branch off like a tree (you can check directions with the hosts first). Loved Rum (host dog) and loved my stay!

It is small and old-fashioned, but the food is delicious as it is a Japanese style inn, and the specially ordered eel is exquisite. The rooms are retro but clean. The front desk was friendly and helpful. However, I was worried that the person in charge of serving the food at the dining hall didn't quite understand, and that every time I asked something, I went to the back to check. The temperature of the bath was just right, but it's not big, and when 5 people enter, there are guests occupying the hot bath, so it's hard to get in. The guesthouse was really nice and clean, well designed and the staff were friendly. The next morning we went for a walk in Hakone but the weather was quite bad, we just headed to an onsen near Hakone Yumoto station. The visit to the guesthouse and dinner made the trip worthwhile.

In an old house with a history of more than 80 years, the bedding in the room on the first floor felt a little damp in the summer. There is a mini front desk and a mini living room. I met two young service staff, both of whom were very enthusiastic and communicated in English fluently...

Bushi or Samurai is a great local guide who runs Irodori, he is a gold mine of info about Kamakura and Japan in general, I highly recommend taking one of his tours. Bushi guided me around the mountains of Kamakura and on the Shogun tour, both well worth the money as you get a deeper experience than you will get by yourself. We also went to see a 24th generation sword smith, which was simply amazing. Irodori is not a fancy guest house, its simple, but its clean and most importantly for me, its authentic Japan.

This is a highly recommended hostel for a reasonable cost! Junxion is in an ideal location: perfectly placed between the JR station (~5 mins) and the beach (~15 mins). The designs of the entrance way/cafe, sleeping room and bathroom area are all reminiscent of tiny home living and are such an efficient use of space. It is quaint and comfortable. The staff are friendly and explicit as to how/where to use particular facilities/amenities. They are also super helpful and willing to give suggestions about Kamakura. The beds were comfortable, the air-con was strong and they even offer free breakfast! I really can't say enough positive things... STAY HERE!!

The hotel is very close to the Buddha and another scenic spot. The service and attitude are very good. It is a good choice if you are traveling alone. The only thing I can't accept is the weather in July. Can you change to summer bedding? I really can't enjoy sleeping on fur in the summer. I don't know if other room types will be different. Comfortable hotel stay, but average service attitude

The room had a terrific view of the bay. There are two beds and a little couch in the room. Outside was a table for our use. There was a huge pillar in the room which was weird and kind of in the way. Toiletries were plentiful (not individual). There was a rinsing bucket outside the door so as not to bring in sand.
