Arnhem Homestays

The hotel is directly opposite Arnhem Railway Station, which is very convenient for traveling to other places. There are many restaurants, bakeries, famous Dutch food supermarkets, etc. along the street downstairs of the hotel, so life is quite convenient. By the way, if you arrive in Arnhem by train for the first time, remember to go to the underground level to exit the station. The two of us foolishly carried our luggage and chose to take the elevator up to exit the station. As a result, we were separated from the train station and the hotel. Looking around, I walked around in a big circle, actually walked down to the station and walked towards the train station gate. The hotel is 100 meters away from the gate. A hotel of the same class in Amsterdam would be more than twice as expensive. We considered going to work near Arnhem the next day, so we chose to stay in Arnhem. The money saved would be used for transportation and more than enough for a big meal. If you go to Amsterdam, you can take a train to Amsterdam Central Station in one hour, and there are corresponding trains to Schiphol Airport. The breakfast at the hotel was very delicious and the mattress was very comfortable... Overall, we were quite satisfied.

We arrived about midnight 9thmay to attend our brothers funeral 6 of us two others previous booked earlier that day. I had booked through there main reservation number agreed the price only to be hit with city tax which I had asked did we have to pay at the time of booking and no was the reply told the receptionist and she said we must pay as she hadn’t been told otherwise,asked if we wanted to book breakfast for €17 after a long day I said we will see in the morning and her reply was it might be slightly dearer then. We decided in the morning we would just go for breakfast only to be told €21 pretty shocking ok we’ll go in very sp**** breakfast my brother in law asked for sausage as there were none left they were not happy very poor service he did eventually get them by that time no egg left same again. Certainly will not ever use this hotel the communication between staff no good either we booked a 6 seater for our early departure on Sunday morning, morning staff new nothing of it

Just a short (thankfully downhill) walk from the railway station (extensive rail and bus services give easy access to almost anywhere in the Netherlands) the hotel is an even shorter walk from the north bank of the Nederrijn with its shady walks and numerous restaurants. Very handy as there is no restaurant at any IHG Express. As I arrived mid-morning the room was not ready but the staff (more about them later) were happy to store my case until I returned that afternoon (and again after checkout before leaving on an afternoon train). The room itself was a good size with a large comfortable bed, a functional desk and chair and a comfortable chair. Air conditioning kept the temperature stable and the lighting was good - not the ”fashionable” near darkness of some. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is the only meal offered and is a fairly basic standard european offering. Meats, eggs and cheeses were adequate, yoghurt good, fresh fruit salad very good indeed. Coffee was machine provided and good with a variety of offerings. No hot options (standard with the Express brand) and I did not try any of the other cold choices. Although fairly centrally located with easy access to shops and all the usual facilities and infrastructure the room was quiet and peaceful. An Albert Heijn mini-supermarket opposite attracted small groups in the evening but was not a bother - indeed very useful for an occasional small purchase. All standard and as expected for the brand so why mark it excellent? I will come back to the staff who were unfailingly excellent - helpful, cheery and friendly (though never less than professional) and recognised me by the end of day 1. A credit to the hotel and its management. This is now my first choice when next in the vicinity

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very welcoming. The assistant manager Prosha really looked after us. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable the restaurant staff were very accommodating. Frederique looked after us well. The food was really good. I would highly recommend.

The layout of the room we stayed in was very unreasonable. It looked quite big. There was no place to let go. After two days of heating, the heating was not warm. They responded to the front desk of four shifts. Everyone’s attitude was not bad. No one has solved the problem, and some people have said to me, ”I don't feel cold, how can you be cold?”... You are Iron Man, I am probably a normal human, because I feel cold at 4 degrees...
