Terrible experience at this hotel. No hot water on the first morning, took cold showers. Asked at the desk about it on our way out, and the desk agent pretended not to know anything about it, but that he would check and follow up with us. Returned that night, no follow up, so assumed all was fixed. 2nd morning, still no hot water. Enquired at the desk again, this time they acknowledged that the whole building had no hot water for the 2nd day. Desk agent promised follow up again, that management was discussing compensation. Pointed out that no one followed up yesterday, but was assured that he would. Returned that evening to no follow up from anyone again. At check out, asked what the resolution would be, agent didn't know we had any problem. When asked about the lack of hot water for 2 full days, the agent said we should have spoken to them at the time!!! I explained that we had, but he again could do nothing and promised a follow up by email from the hotel manager. Needless to say, that follow up never came again! I emailed their head office about what was going on with the problems at the hotel, and the complete failure of customer service. They replied to me that they were pleased there was a ”quick solution” of the problem!!! They didn't feel that there was any call for compensation for either the lack of hot water, or the hotels response!! They begrudgingly offered a €20 voucher toward a future stay! Lol. They clearly need that €20 more than me, they can keep it!! Find a different hotel to stay, the B&B clearly feels that the new Customer Service is No Service.

The hotel does have private rooms available, so that's what we got for our family with younger kids. The location is out of the city centre, but public transport made this distance less of an issue. The hostel is still located with a lot of local places of interest too. (over the road if one of the best cafes I've been to for breakfast anywhere I've stayed - Cafe Buur) The staff were helpful, and easy to speak with. We had booked a different room to the one we got, and had a lot less space. Each bunk still allowed us decent privacy and we slept well. The common areas are kept very clean too. Each room has a unique decoration theme - ours was the circus.

Stayed at the B&B for one night while visiting Köln. Plenty of free parking and a easy, no hassle check in. Rooms are clean and fine for staying the night. Breakfast is limited but then again it’s only a tenner. Recommend to travel by car and park at P&R Haus Vorst to get onto the line 7 tram to travel to the city center.

This hotel should only be used as a bed to sleep in, and expect absolutely nothing more. I was here on business with 2 colleagues and everything was just ok. The people in the reception looked very bored and uninspired. The room was alright, the housekeeping a joke. To be fair, with 3 people living in a very small room the space to clean was minimal as we had to spread quite a bit, but I expected the trash bin to be emptied. The beds were alright and the AC excellent, which was good as the area around the hotel tend to be noisy as it is in the industrial part of town. There was a brief 10 minute walk to the s-bahn. Very few choices of food around the area. The breakfast, that they priced up from €7.50 to €10.50 from our booking to arrival is not worth the money, with a very bad selection and slow refill when there is a lot of people. The Frau managing the breakfast area was very agressive in asking for room number and barely understood any English making it very awkward. If you are a smoker, then the smoking area outside does not have any place to sit. Unless there is no other available places to stay, I will not come back to this hotel.

As a female solo traveller I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. I paid for one night and never stayed, I left at 10:30pm and went to a hotel nearby. I was first out in a room with older and very strange people who had food all over their beds and floors as though they live there full time. The smell was horrendous and I knew I couldn't sleep in there. I asked for another room thinking I got unlucky. I was then transferred to a room with 3 older men in there 50s and 60s who were walking around with only underpants and then fully undressing in front of me. They were not reading books or minding their own business, just staring at me while I made my bed. As I went to leave, one of them followed me and asked where I was going, if I was leaving, and when I'd be back. He was strangely invested in my quick return bit was odd. There should be a healthy mix of women and men, and travellers want to stay with like-minded travellers, not homeless people and creepy old men! I lost 30 euros at this place. Just avoid it!

We were very surprised not to find towels, neither on the homepage nor during the booking process, not even when the booking confirmation. The cleanliness is expandable, despite daily. Room cleaning was not removed in the bathroom. The room was seen for itself was ok.. 2 single beds and above a 4m long bed on the wall for children, 4 boxes that you cannot lock despite keys and locks. The bathroom nix for powerful and immovable people, the shower underground, not adjustable, for young children unpracticable because you are being wet as parents before the shower. The washing basin is located in the bedroom, there is no place in the bathroom. Personnel in the dining room VERY friendly, unlike the rest. There are very many bans for a youth hostel. Good accessibility with car, bus and railways. Parking was free and sufficiently available. To eat. Breakfast is enough for anyone with it. Whoever wants more choice can be in a separate room for breakfast at charge, we have not tested. Lunch packages super and much. The dinner was good youth hostel food, 1 main dish, salad buffet and dessert selection, daily fresh fruit and water The praised bar from 19h with cocktails and fresh swept beer we have been looking for vainly! For this from morning to evening TV. What I did not think good to fill out any way of filling your own water bottles, you can't even take a apple after dinner and even the coffee bar was closed in the afternoon. This has not happened to us so far in any youth hostel. Toilet closed near the dining room, great if you have to run forever. At the prices of the hotels in Cologne you have hardly alternatives as a family. That's why we'll stay with the children again. With towels in the bag.

I didn’t see the order without the bathroom at first, and I saw that I couldn’t stand the bathroom outside and changed the room with the bathroom. The bathroom is convenient, but the small water pressure in the pool is shallow, and the water is shallow on the ground. The wet is on a room. The towel was wet before we entered the house, the mildew on the back, the window still no ventilation in the bathroom... The smell could not be lost for a long time, my God! The equipment for bathing is a bathroom cabinet with a sense of time. The door is not very easy to use, and the force is not tight enough, which also causes the bathroom to be wet. There are no slippers, no toiletries, and a hot water bottle in the room. The bed is full of comfort, and the quilt is also the national standard. It is very close to the subway station. It is expensive to take a stop at the Central Railway Station. It takes half an hour to walk. There are many Middle Eastern residents around.

Unser Zimmer lag direkt über dem Gastraum und es war sehr laut, sogar das vibrieren eines Handys im Nebenzimmer war zu hören. Das Zimmer war die ganze Nacht fast taghell, da gegenüber die Tankstelle voll beleuchtet war und die Laternen auf der Kreuzung auch. Ich hatte in der ersten Nacht max. 2 Std Schlaf und bin dann nach dem Frühstück mit meiner Tochter (4J.) wieder heim gefahren, da auch diese zu wenig Schlaf hatte. Die Zimmertemperatur lag bei 25 Grad. Service was nett und freundlich. 😊
