I booked this hotel for my husband who was on a business trip and decided to come along as it gave me a chance to visit Dublin. Am so glad I did. I had a polished, gracious welcome, a lovely room (thankfully facing away from the main streets) which was quiet, stylish but most of all, very comfortable. I enjoyed the vibe in the lobby, it’s well used by guests as well as locals and the breakfast was generous and extensive. It’s always great when a hotel will continue to look after you after check out and my bags were taken care of and transport advice offered. Perfect stay!

I was a little worried when I saw the low rating at first, but I booked it because it was close to the school. Unexpectedly, I felt great after checking in. The furniture in the hotel room felt very high-end, the workmanship was good, and the view from the window was also very good. There is the sea in the distance, the surrounding area is very quiet, and it is convenient to travel. The bus station is 2-3 minutes away from the door.

Este hotel é perfeito para visitar Dublin.O pessoal do hotel é brilhante, especialmente Caoimhe e Martha, que são muito amigáveis e úteis.A localização é óptima, tudo está perto, mas você ainda está garantido um bom sono de noite. Se você está usando o Aeroporto Na manhã seguinte, é perfeito porque o autocarro do Aeroporto está a um curto passeio do hotel. O restaurante e o Bar também são excelentes. Definitivamente vou usar este hotel novamente.

A little disappointed, the room was very cold as they kept putting on Aircon, which is not needed in September in Ireland. Fine once we rang reception but had to request the room was heated both nights

O Bonnington costuma ser meu hotel preferido em Dublin, porém, a estadia anterior e agora esta me fizeram procurar outro lugar no futuro. A equipe, como sempre, foi excepcional, porém, nosso quarto foi erroneamente anunciado pela recepção às 5h da manhã (e em uma estadia anterior, fomos acordados no meio da noite por um alarme de incêndio falso, então uma noite inteira de sono não é garantida). O que foi mais frustrante foi o estado geral de deterioração do hotel. Os quartos são relativamente pequenos, então, pelo preço mais alto, você está realmente pagando pelas instalações. Os problemas menores, como móveis velhos e cadeiras de couro descascando e lascando, não foram um grande problema, apenas um leve incômodo. No entanto, a banheira/chuveiro vazando por toda parte quando usada, deixando o chão encharcado, a sala de vapor fora de serviço e não termos sido informados disso no momento da reserva ou mesmo depois, e a superlotação da piscina e outras instalações devido a pessoas com carteirinhas dos clubes de lazer que não estavam hospedadas no hotel e ocupavam toda a banheira de hidromassagem e sauna de uma vez em grupos privados foi frustrante. O quarto também estava extremamente quente, e o ar condicionado era muito, muito barulhento, embora não refrescasse muito o ambiente. Não havia nada que arruinasse a estadia, porém, se você está pagando mais de 200 euros por uma noite em um lugar, espera que as coisas sejam pelo menos razoáveis. O principal ponto positivo foi a simpatia e a gentileza da equipe.

I decided to ditch staying in the city centre based on my below par experiences there on my last trip. When looking on Trip.com, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Dalkey was the same price as several dorm rooms in the city centre when I looked. Getting there from Dublin Airport was relatively straightforward. I took and Aircoach from the airport to Dalkey/Ulverton Road and then walked for about 15 minutes. Up to the hotel entrance. The hotel is fairly old fashioned but personally I found it very charming. The staff were well-trained in the art of hospitality, the rooms were clean, locals were in and out of the bar, restaurant and leisure centre. Furthermore, the room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The tv had a nice range of channels and the bathroom had a working shower and an abundance of towels. One thing missing was a toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving kit. I was told that you can get slippers on request as well. Get the breakfast. It’s €16 and it’s a buffet style with a delicious selection of hot and cold food. There’s rashers, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, the works. I wish I could’ve eaten more! I loved that they had a wide range of ages working there as well. One of the staff tripped when she went to ask if everything was ok and she said ‘I’m fine, I’m falling for you!’ It was then that I knew that I was home. The leisure centre is one of the best I’ve come across in a while. I’ve stayed in so many places where it’s literally an empty room with a few bits of old equipment but they had loads of weights, treadmills, bikes, etc. They do classes and physiotherapy as well. The pool and jacuzzi were also excellent. Plenty of ages in both as well but it wasnt overcrowded so you’ll get a few lengths in if you want. Lastly, make sure to go for a walk about Dalkey and the surrounding areas. I spent the morning walking down to the Vico Baths, the Forty Foot (both swimming locations) and passed through Dalkey Village. Plenty of people will be out with their family and friends whether it be for a walk, bike ride, swim or a coffee and a chat. Ditch Dublin City and say yes to Dalkey!

The hotel is beautiful and steeped in history. Breakfast was very nice and location is convenient for the airport. My only issue was we stayed in room 003 and in the morning about 4am delivery trucks starting driving back and forth down the side alley which actually woke us up as the window was open. One of the trucks even decided to back up down the alley with a constant beep beep beep which was really annoying. I'm not sure why he just didn't turn around but clearly he chose not to. The other small issue was the shower took forever to drain but this is an easy fix which the hotel said they would look after. Other than that, the stay was wonderful.
