We had a nice stay in two neighbouring apartments on the ground floor near the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. To the city centre it was only a 6 minute walk. Breakfast was sufficient and the cocktail in the evening tasted good. We would book it again. It was calm and the view was amazing:)

Our stay here was absolutely remarkable, and we highly recommend this place to everyone. The staff are some of the kindest, most generous, and genuinely involved people we have ever encountered — their warmth truly made our stay unforgettable.
The surroundings are peaceful, and it’s magical to watch animals right from the pool. The food is extraordinary — both breakfast and dinner were among the most delicious meals we had in Sri Lanka.
The rooms are spacious and offer beautiful views over the fields, where we could see peacocks, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Another highlight is that the hotel provides bicycles for free, making it easy and fun to explore the nearby area.
The pool is large and perfect for relaxing, rounding out a truly special experience.
We will definitely be coming back and can’t recommend this place enough.

O hotel está Na colina, com UMA BOM paisagem montanhosa, e o banheiro é super grande. Durante Mais de vinte DIAS de Vida EM Sri Lanka, Sinto a única quarto não húmida. Se há ar condicionado, é perfeito.
 A maioria Das pessoas está NAS proximidades de Ella Town a Mais de vinte minutos de carro.  Ella é principalmente . Todos OS hotéis e pessoas são basicamente atravessados por caminhos curtos. Muito adequados para  pessoas que Querem viver com o mundo por alguns dias, especialmente para elogiar SUA equipe de serviço, Alguns meninos locais entusiastas e amigáveis que Querem realmente fazer o BOM para cadA convidado que permanecer. Obrigado pelo SEU delicioso pequeno-almoço.

All the staff were very kind and had a great stay.
We had a buffet breakfast and dinner, but none of them were delicious and enjoyed Sri Lankan food.
The hospitality of the hotel was transmitted by the manager at breakfast.
I would like to use it again.

Although the location is a little inaccessible, that’s how the beautiful view of train coming out from tunnel can be seen. And the inaccessible location is overly compensated by the service, there is TukTuk to fetch you from Ella Town or Ella station when you arrive. During your stay, they fetched us back from Ella town after dinner around 9pm to the accommodation for the convenience. Also upon check out, they sent us back to Ella station. So, you can to enjoy the view in absolute nature without compromising the convenience. Absolutely love the place. Just walking distance to 9 Arch.

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad bij dit hotel. De ligging is top, het ontbijt is goed en de medewerkers zijn erg vriendelijk. Enige nadeel is dat het erg gehorig is in het hotel, waardoor je de buren kan horen douchen en je hierdoor vroeg in de ochtend al wakker wordt.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning architecture and its seamless blend with nature. Built across multiple levels on a hillside, the structure offers panoramic views of rolling green mountains, dense forests, and the distant valley below. The design is both modern and rustic, with warm wooden finishes, open balconies, and large glass windows that allow natural light to flood in throughout the day. Early mornings here feel magical—the soft golden sunlight gently touches the hills, while birdsong creates a peaceful wake-up call.
One of the highlights of the property is its beautifully maintained outdoor space. The pool area is particularly inviting, offering a refreshing escape after a day of exploring nearby attractions. Sitting by the pool, surrounded by greenery and fresh mountain air, creates a sense of calm that is hard to find elsewhere. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, encouraging you to relax and fully enjoy the moment.

GGinbuHowwan這次在斯里蘭卡住過最完美的酒店，值得超五星。
我們訂的行政別墅，樓下一個大床，樓上兩個略小床墊。電動窗簾拉開就是幾乎全景玻璃陽台，可以看到外麪茶山。還能看到三孔橋和路過火車。
mini bar裏面給了幾十包茶包，都是免費，四瓶玻璃瓶水也是免費，酒和飲品收費。
游泳池很好看很出片，像無邊泳池。
一定要選帶晚餐的，晚餐是點菜式五道式，非常可口，也很特別，不含飲料。早餐也有一個很特別的脆皮蛋包，通往餐廳的路上能拍到很美的照片。
唯一就是蚊蟲比較多，整個行程唯一的兩個包就是在這裏晚上睡覺時候被咬的

GGuest UserHeaven on earth! Absolutely spoiled every morning with breakfast on their rooftop overlooking the famous Ella Rock. Possibly the best bedroom view I’ve ever seen. We travelled in April which is notoriously muggy and hot, but the electric fans are very powerful and kept us nice and cool in the evenings, they even have a sleep setting on them!
Couldn’t have asked for much more. 5 min TukTuk to and from town (500sr or £1.50). Or a peaceful 10 minute walk.

TtorinessKeeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

GGuest UserWe arrived tired and out of sorts, but we were greeted so warmly that our spirits immediately improved. The hosts gave us tea, chatted in a homely way - you feel like a welcome guest, not a client.
The hotel is on top of a mountain, and each room has an exit to a terrace with a stunning view. You wake up in the morning - and in front of you there are only mountains and silence. The room is clean, cozy, everything is thought out to the smallest detail.
Breakfast was prepared especially for our preferences: fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, toast, even smoothies! The staff is not formally polite, but truly kind.
If you want to not just spend the night, but feel cared for and relax your soul - this is definitely your place. I want to come back again and recommend it to everyone. Many thanks to the hosts for such an atmosphere!

GGuest UserThe hotel is on the hillside, with a good mountain view, the room bathroom is super large, the only room that is not damp in the 20 days of living in Sri Lanka, if there is air conditioning, it will be perfect.
 It is more than 20 minutes' drive from Ella Town.  Ella is mostly sloped . It is basically a curved path to various hotels and homestays. It is very suitable for  people who want to be quarantined for a few days to live for a few days. I especially want to praise their service team. A few simple warm and friendly local boys, they really want to be good to every guest staying, thank you for the delicious breakfast.

CCamHoneyGreat hotel, with unbeatable view of Ella rock on the balcony. However the room did not have universal plug sockets, the hotel provided a hairdryer but did not fit the plug socket. It is also very difficult to get to with suitcases. Fine if you’re backpacking, but carrying suitcases up the massive hill is very difficult. Perhaps the hotel should look into purchasing their own tuktuk to ferry customers up and down the hill. Not everyone is a backpacker!

We had an **absolutely wonderful** experience at Alta Vista, thanks to the **exceptional hospitality** of **Nandan and his team**. The **spacious, well-equipped rooms** (with both fans and AC) provided a **comfortable and relaxing retreat**.
The **breakfast was a highlight** – a **delicious, wide spread** that set the perfect tone for our days. The **prime location** was unbeatable – just a **2-minute walk to the main city center**, with easy access to **trending restaurants and vibrant spots**.
What truly made our stay special was the **attentive service and warm atmosphere**. **Great food, fantastic service, and genuinely caring staff** – we couldn’t have asked for more!

MMaso Maso (Maso)This was one of my best stays in Sri Lanka. The only thing I could fault the place for, was the water pressure was not very good. I know serious world problems right. As a frequent world traveler I look for clean/safe/valuable for money accommodation, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, working AC for the hot climates and good Wi Fi. This place ticked all those boxes and some. Great hosts and you have the option of paying the extra for a home cooked meal, which was tasty and plentiful. It is located in a very quiet serene part of Ella and you will either be faced with a short drive into the Ella township or an approx 20min walk. The hosts went out of their way to ensure a great stay, helped with luggage up the steep stairs to the accommodation and bought some required items, when the host went into town. Pics shown stairs leading up to the accommodation, so definitively not wheel chair friendly. Another pic shows the evening meal. We also opted for the host to provide breakfast and it was just as good and affordable.
